Can you tell me whom you used? I should do my own research but I need a starting place. Also, I guess I need coverage for any reason?
WOW! That’s phenomenal!! I would have been on pins and needles in that line to get into DL. That just shows what being prepared can do for you though. I’m definitely curious what “method” of getting a BG worked so well for you. Hoping you’ll share when you have the time! Enjoy!Group 5!!!
I am not @gottalovepluto but I do buy Trip Insurance for every cruise we go on. I go to ************.com and put in all the particulars. Then you can compare all the different policies and prices. You can call them also and they will advise what you should be looking for. I always get cancel for any reason also - it costs a little more but worth it as you never know what can happen.
I have used Trip Insurance twice. Once I was sick on the ship and had to see the ships doctor. Got reimbursed. On another cruise DS broke his wrist in 2 places on the basketball court. Had to see the ships Dr and also go to a hospital in Mexico and have his wrist rebroken and a cast put on. We had to pay for everything right there but got reimbursed when we got home after submitting the claim.
It’s a very good offer if you have large spend! Some people struggle with the pacing because they meet their MSRs too quickly. If the $15k is a stretch though, you’d be better off going for the DISchurners offer of 80k for $5k, and then get another card if some sort in 3 months and spend that MSR and so on. Getting 3-4 cards over 9 months to spend $15k will be much more lucrative than this offer UNLESS you have no issue spending $15k in 3 months. Hopefully that makes senseSo, uuhhhhh.....we are just getting ready to embark on our churning adventure, and I got some spam mail from Chase yesterday for CIP 100k/$15k. Now, I'll be honest. $15k in 3mo is a big spend for DH unless he gets a couple of generator installs grouped together, and then it wouldn't be an issue. Is this an offer worth keeping around (it says it's good until the end of May) or is the spend-to-points ratio not that great?
I would not anticipate that causing any issue with Chase if your CL is high enough! And I would highly consider that for the extra points too!The other option is to pay our contractor with a card when he bills us for the rest of our garage and then pay the card with our HELOC checkbook (instead of just writing him the check). Which....that could totally work. Do the cc companies get nosey if you do the ENTIRE MSR in one transaction?
I don’t have any super techy advice but we got into line in the Esplanade around 0835 or so and got in with about 12 minutes to spare. We went ahead and got FP for Star Tours (partly to ensure both of us were “in” the park) and waited upstairs at the train station. We just watched our phone switch to 0900 and I got it first with an iPhone 7plus (my friend also had an iPhone 7 Plus). We did put DoNotDisturb on and we closed all other apps prior. Nothing else fancy.WOW! That’s phenomenal!! I would have been on pins and needles in that line to get into DL. That just shows what being prepared can do for you though. Ours isn't this Saturday though - it is 2 weeks from Saturday - sorry would have loved to meet you too! We’ll be at beaches and cream/YC on Saturday.
New weather update. Now accuweather is back to 80 for the high in Death Valley. Maybe I hit the wrong month. Time to stop looking every day. I'll look next Wed so that I can get my packing list finalized for the weather.
Side note that relates to Disney, sort of. I've planned my Death Valley itinerary so we'll know the spots where they filmed Star Wars! Scenes in Episode IV -- A New Hope and Star Wars Episode VI -- Return of the Jedi were filmed in the park. FYI, they no longer allow filming there. We definitely will see "Tatooine" on our trip![]()
. Then I was looking up more information on Valley of Fire SP outside Las Vegas and learned Star Trek Generations and Total Recall were filmed there. Also Viva Las Vegas (Elvis) was filmed there but that doesn't fit the space theme! Wondering how mortified DS will be if I break into a rendition of Viva Las Vegas in the park!
I just really need a break. Other than MLK day, haven't taken a day off since Christmas. I thought I was ok but this last week has been painful.
I am going to have to eat slow. Our ressie is at 5:00. Hubby needs an early dinner after a 6 AM flight that morning.Yes! Our ressie is for 7:10 pm.
Ooopsie - you are excused - preggo brain, right? lolMy bad![]()

I ended up using AXA. There were a few I had narrowed it down to but I needed to pick and I was running around in circles so I just bought it. Not the best way to do it lol but it should do what I need. I learned it takes a lot of research, you need to know your numbers of trip cost, and it's very personal to your exact trip. I added the cancel anytime feature as I don't want to lose it all just because I don't want to travel but the airline says it's safe. As a student your niece could very likely be in the "going unless the government says no" group so that feature may not be important to her, on the other hand if her school cancels her program but the airline doesn't cancel her flight are you covered? It just depends on her/your situation. And at the end of the day it might just be too expensive to be worth it. Personally I also liked the insurance covers expenses if I get stuck in a quarantine (something cc don't cover) but again since you're dealing with a study abroad thing she might already have that covered.... Since it's a study abroad program there might be specific insurance options the program recommends for students, I have vague memories of being required to buy some insurance thing when I went to China many moons ago.Can you tell me whom you used? I should do my own research but I need a starting place. Also, I guess I need coverage for any reason?
I bought a $500 Disney GC at Lowe’s a few weeks ago along with trash bags. No issues at Lowe’s and the Amex credit posted two days later. I plan on going back in a few more weeks for another $500 Disney GC and a filler item. I didn’t want Amex wondering why I spent so much in one trip and it being an obvious round number.Anyone here buy Disney Gift Cards at Lowe’s with an AmEx? Any problems or limits? I have the 10% Lowe’s rebate offer on two of my cards and went in today to buy $1K Disney cards on each AmEx. The manager said they won’t let anyone buy more than $200 in gift cards because they’ve had “problems”. I told him I needed $2K for our family’s trip next week and was paying in full with our credit cards, so I didn’t see how it was a problem. He refused to let me buy more than $200, so I left. Is this common? If not, can anyone suggest a Lowe’s to stop at between the Midwest and Disney? We are road-tripping to WDW and really wanted the 10% off for food and possible AP upgrades.
