Thanks to those who pointed out the Staples offers on your Chase cards. I went down there and they had $250 in Disney GC's (5 @ $50 each) so I went ahead and bought all of them in two separate transactions (plus an SD card my husband wanted) so that's $250 toward the DLH bill next week.

I got a mailer for the Hyatt card today. Same bonus as what is publicly available. Perhaps because I just recently made a couple of Hyatt reservations.

Nevertheless I was hoping for some special bonus on the offer link - no dice. Still I would take this card. Please Chase, let me have a new card again someday! 🙏

Once I've transferred my Disney GC balances to my "main" card, and I've verified that the balances transferred over, is there any reason to keep the physical cards that have a zero balance?

I’m curios if anyone has an answer for this. If we were to book a flight to Japan for next year through Virgin and paid the taxes/fees with a CSR and for some reason the virus isn’t gone by then, would the travel insurance on that card cover it to cancel or move the flight? This is way far in advance but we would ideally book in June this year

A lot of insurance won't cover for pandemics and things like that. Not sure the csr does. It might be worth it, and with a baby, though without a baby I will be doing it for our asia trip, I'd get a cancel for any reason etc travel insurance. I wouldn't rely on credit card insurance in this instance, I want something that has better coverage while I'm there as well.

Honestly if the virus is still going strong in May/June and it doesn’t seem likely to stop soon we might just not book the trip. I wouldn’t take the risk with a 1 year old. That’s good to know about insurance though. We’ve never actually bought travel insurance before but in that case I think we would need to. Thanks!

Totally agree. We tend to buy insurance for overseas trips, always with that cancel for any reason clause. I did purchase some for this summer's trip - I just hope we won't need to use it.

Chase specifically has said they won’t cover for a corona. It won’t be around in a year plus the way it is now (remember Influenza kills way more people) but no matter cancel for any reason insurance is a great idea because A. Baby and B. You’re booking far ahead. If you insure when you book, it won’t be terribly expensive. We use insure my trip dot com (remove spaces)

Ah I didn’t realize chase has said that. Why don’t you think it’ll be around still in a year?

I’ll look into the site you mentioned and tell Dh about it. I think it’ll be a good idea to have insurance on a trip like this. How much does it typically cost? I’m not even sure what to expect.

Does anyone know if I can use visa gift cards to pay off my Royal Caribbean cruise?
I ended up booking through Costco and it has a payment link to use Visa/MasterCard so I’m hoping I can use the staples offer for the no fee visas. At least I’ll get some extra points/ % off since I’m not seeing any other way to save on this cruise.

If it allows you to make a partial paymen, you should be good.

Yes, in case you want to return something purchased, they will need actual cards to refund.

I have the $30 off $100 on my Chase Business Checking Account. I never noticed offers on the checking account before.
Has anyone ever used the offers on the bank account? Would it refund the $30 back into my account after the purchase?
While I don't normally use the debit card, I'm thinking for 30% off I will.

I throw out any GCs that the full balance has been transfer to my main GC.
If the GC was partly used for something that may be returned I keep it

Has anyone heard of Simple Plan who is playing at Epcot when we are there? They seem to be a young group but I can’t find any songs that have been played on the radio.
