Does anyone know if I can use visa gift cards to pay off my Royal Caribbean cruise?
I ended up booking through Costco and it has a payment link to use Visa/MasterCard so I’m hoping I can use the staples offer for the no fee visas. At least I’ll get some extra points/ % off since I’m not seeing any other way to save on this cruise.

may need to test it, last time i did split payments on a cruise, it only allowed 5 cards.

I have the $30 off $100 on my Chase Business Checking Account. I never noticed offers on the checking account before.
Has anyone ever used the offers on the bank account? Would it refund the $30 back into my account after the purchase?
While I don't normally use the debit card, I'm thinking for 30% off I will.
I would probably do a debit for a quick $30!

I just checked- between DH and I we have 5 chase business cards. One with $30 off a $100, one with $200 of $100, one with $10 off $100 and two with 10% back up to $17.

leave for wdw at the end of this week. Trying to decide between just buying Disney gc or buying fee free Visa cards and then ordering Disney gc on bjs with them. Just worried I won’t get the cards in the mail on time. I have an online only membership.
With only a week no way would I risk buying via BJs and snail mail.

I’m curios if anyone has an answer for this. If we were to book a flight to Japan for next year through Virgin and paid the taxes/fees with a CSR and for some reason the virus isn’t gone by then, would the travel insurance on that card cover it to cancel or move the flight? This is way far in advance but we would ideally book in June this year
I’m going to Europe (Italy, doh!) in May and just got my tickets and bought insurance last week so kinda did a deep dive into all this. Warning: trip insurance is a rabbit hole of a research project. Thankfully I was litteraly thinking what if Coronavirus spreads and I don’t want to go? Pandemic wise most trip insurance doesn’t cover if you’re choosing not go someplace unless it’s like quarantined by the government. Traveling with a child you obviously have a level or two before it hits that where you would chose not to go. What you probably need to look for is cancel anytime insurance. I bought that and it will refund me 75% of prepaid costs. This doesn’t include miles. Miles aren’t cash so not insurable. I did get the trip insurance that reimbursed for award fees for redeposit miles. You’ll need to dig into the fine print of the policies to start getting a feel and you’ll need to have estimates of all costs before.

Imho travel insurance could get a lot more expensive if this thing grows much more :(

A lot of insurance won't cover for pandemics and things like that. Not sure the csr does. It might be worth it, and with a baby, though without a baby I will be doing it for our asia trip, I'd get a cancel for any reason etc travel insurance. I wouldn't rely on credit card insurance in this instance, I want something that has better coverage while I'm there as well.
^this That’s exactly where I ended up. And I booked all my hotels refundable so no loses there.

TPG had an article on Coronavirus and they specifically received word from Chase the only reimbursement you will get is if you end up in the hospital with the virus. They won’t cover leaving a country early because of an outbreak, staying because you can’t get out or you might have the virus and aren’t being allowed to leave, or canceling a trip because you’re worried as you’re traveling to a hotspot. CC insurance is worthless for outbreaks is the conclusion I came to.
