Got spring break flights for DD and me, but holy moly they were high! Over 30,000 for the round trip CMH-RSW. Definitely a case of...splurge now while I have the RR’s and CP and make a great trip with my daughter! This would be a replacement for our already planned trip over Presidents Day weekend because all of sudden DD decided she wants to play basketball this winter, so I’ll probably have to cancel that one.

Thank you, I didn’t realize that. That’s nice to know too that you can still book even if the miles are more and just make up the difference. At least that still leaves them useable.

Yup! Last year I was flying down to see the BF in NC after Florence. The airports opened back up JUST before I left. So I was looking at having to rebook to October, which was NOT a discount month for DTW or OAJ. They told me I'd just have to make up the difference. I kinda felt that was ****ty since it wasn't my fault the airport was closed. Luckily it reopened right before I went down. It was crazy to see them still pumping water out of the airport and "drying" it out when I was there.

I can't keep track of which card to use for various categories when not working on MSR. Does this look right?
This should help me decide what to cancel/keep, not on here is SW because I know I'm canceling those.
I plan to add my monthly bills in here so I know which card to default to when no MSR.

OMG. I need to change my SS to look like this. The way mine currently is sad! Care to share the template? LOL

I’m looking for this- Is there a link to the sign up for it? Or maybe it will just appear on my Amex offers. I’ll go try looking from the computer later.

I can't get on Reddit at school. GRRRRRRRR! I guess it's time I download the app on my phone. Nothing like having to call our school IT and be like, ummmmm.....I can't get on Facebook or Reddit. Luckily I spun it that I can't get into my curriculum groups on there ;) LOL

Everything I looked at was crazy high too. I continue my streak of opening day on SW being a waste. :badpc:

I did go ahead and book the return since it seemed to be the one that would more likely not ever decrease and maybe increase since it is on a weekend. It is for the BNA-DEN trip in March. I'm going to hold on the first leg b/c I just don't see it selling well at the current prices. If it never comes down, I will choose a different airline for that part.

Didn't see anything good for that same week to MCO either. Will watch and wait as is usual.

DD20 borrowed my brand new motherlode jr for a frontier flight yesterday. About halfway home from dropping her at the airport I got a text asking what kind of bag is this? I told her and the next text was, I like the purple one...they are on sale.:rotfl2:

I haven't even gotten to use it yet, but apparently I need to watch for a deal to get her one for Christmas.

My dd got the purple one for her study abroad in the UK a couple years back :-)

That's good. I always do 1 transaction, 2 swipes. It has happened to me before as well and the next time I went it was fine. Just try again tomorrow.
Thank you. I’ll try again today. I did order another Serve. How many Serve's should I have as backup?

SW flights are loaded
FYI - your r/churning comments might be getting downvoted because you're alluding to the early booking trick. 🤣 People on reddit don't like that getting discussed. (which probably is a good thing) I typically don't "announce" a release there until I can just say - SW flights are now live.

FYI - Southwest extended their schedule this morning for flights through April 13th, 2020.

Here is my usual Historical Southwest Release Dates (for planning purposes) comment:
  • NEXT RELEASE: 10/30/19 - travel through June 6th, 2020
  • 9/26/19 - travel through 4/13/20
  • 8/15/19 - travel through March 6th, 2020
  • 5/30/19 - travel through January 5th, 2020
  • 3/15/19 - travel through November 2nd, 2019
  • 1/31/19 - travel through October 1st, 2019
  • 11/15/18 - travel through August 5th, 2019
  • 9/27/18 - travel through June 8th, 2019
  • 8/30/18 - travel through April 7th, 2019
  • 6/28/18 - travel through March 6th, 2019
  • 5/31/18 - travel through January 6th, 2019
  • 3/8/18 - travel through November 3rd, 2018
  • 2/15/18 - travel through October 1st, 2018
  • 11/2/17 - travel through August 6th, 2018
  • 8/28/17 - travel through June 1st, 2018
  • 7/27/17 - travel through April 6th, 2018
  • 6/22/17 - travel through March 7th, 2018
  • 5/18/17 - travel through January 7th, 2018
This chart could be useful to approximate when your travel time may become available for upcoming releases, however they don't always follow the exact same pattern (as you can see above) They appear to be tightening the inventory a bit this year vs. prior year's releases.

RELEASE TIMES:
  • The release on 5/30/19 went live at 9:20am.
  • The release on 8/15/19 went live at 10:41am.
  • The release on 9/26/19 went live at 7:30am.
If you want to search back for this post in the future - just search my name and "release". You could also bookmark this comment on the new DIS somehow (or so I heard).

I'd just change it to say Southwest flights are live...or delete it. And maybe delete the 2nd response in that chain. I mean you do you, but the less people that investigate how to book early the better IMO.

Happy to delete.
I (stupidly) alluded to that one time in a much more obvious fashion than you did... and I received dozens of PMs on both sides. People BEGGING me to explain it to them and people telling me I needed to shutup because sharing that with 100k people was not a good plan. Since that time, I decided it was best to keep that info to myself...and obviously share it with this group, LOL!

experts... say I wanted to fly to London via Airfrance (I think Virgin Atlantic flights) what points could I use for this? I am flush with UR's.... not sure what else would transfer or work here?

So the Amazon 1500/$75 MR offer... can I just load $75 to my Amazon balance?

I had two hours of training this morning and now feel like I have no energy.

Also, I'm ready to strangle another coworker, this one is outside of my department :badpc:
ummmmm what offer?

Air France is part of Flying Blue. Citi TYP, Amex MRs and Chase URs all tranfer to FB so you could transfer UR->FB and book your flight to LHR that way. It's tricky to use FB if you're not at a main hub, though (ATL/JKF, etc) so make sure you play around with booking dates/times/prices on the airfrance.us site first-it will also give you a good idea of the number of FB miles you'll need to transfer.
