If you can I'd wait until at least Thursday, maybe Friday to make a decision. It doesn't look like she will change course, but you never know. Just have your plan in place by then. Stay safe and look after your kitties!
What do you think would be too late to make a decision? I feel like leaving Friday is getting late because of the holiday weekend but I also don’t want the cats away from home that long. I wish we could go to wdw instead of universal

I need some help on application timing. We have only had DH’s CIP in hand since Friday and are already over halfway (!) through the MSR. I am wanting to apply for CIP#2 for myself next. Someone please tell me if these are the right steps to take:

1) Tonight - go home and request CL reductions on my Chase business cards
2) Once my referral points post from DH’s CIP, I can transfer them to my CSR and cancel my CIP#1
3) Once CL reductions show up on Credit Karma and my CIP is closed, I can apply for CIP#2, right? Or can I apply for CIP#2 if I still hold CIP#1?

Sending good thoughts to everyone in Florida in advance of Dorian. Be safe! I am very worried as my cousin in Orlando is due literally any day now and my other cousin-in-law is getting married at the GF this weekend 😅

My dad built our first computer from a kit (HeathKit--any other olds remember them?) when I was in 8th grade! I remember him typing the first Microsoft OS code into the computer so it would run  He kept that book of code literally for decades because it was such an artifact.

Our very first AA flights (in March) were booked using a corporate travel agent. I created the accounts right before the flights were booked. Perhaps that's why?

I just hope we keep receiving these mailers until I can use them :rotfl:

Did they say they have the language? I might be interested in buying them, LOL

SNA is so convenient to DL. We've gone into LAX and SNA and much prefer SNA. I know LAX has more options though. LGB is also convenient from what I've read, but we've never done that one.
@Tikitoi I agree here. LAX has more options but the idea of it stresses me out because LAX is huge and busy. Plus you need transpo to Anaheim. If you can find something workable to SNA, it’s an easy Uber to the DLR area. If not, LAX would be a second choice for us. It’s a long Uber ride or rental car vs shuttle/car service.

Maybe decide Friday morning. That way you'd have a head start on the long weekend traffic. If it were me I'd wait until Saturday but I like timing things "just right", which doesn't work for everyone (and could also explain why we were stuck here for Irma lol). It doesn't look like she'll hit until Sunday and if she changes course you can always take the kitties and go home. Universal is great with pets -- I went with a friend last year -- he took his dog and didn't have any issues at all. My dog is excited to maybe stay at YC next week!

Dang, now it slowed down and shows Monday 8am arriving at coast instead of 2am. If it keep slowing my Tuesday flight is going to be at risk. I have priorities here people!
Honestly I'd wait and maybe schedule your flight for Tuesday or Wednesday (as long as the airlines waive change fees, which I suspect they will in the next few days).

Move your flight up? Fly in Sunday?
I'd have to leave DS9 at home then. He has opening weekend for hockey Fri-Monday...practices, meetings, headshots, etc. I'd hate to tell him he can't come now that I talked him into coming. I guess I will look and see what the options are for Sunday just in case. SW isn't allowing free changes for Tuesday flights yet. I am pretty sure that every Labor Day WDW and DCL trip I have had ended up having storm drama. :headache: Should've known.

I am scheduled for Tuesday now. The storm's arrival time has gotten later on the newest update, so I am just hoping that isn't a continuous trend.

Several of our LD trips have as well. One year we had to fly in early and one year we had to fly out early. We'd normally be about to head down later this week so yup, it's about perfect timing for us to be scrambling trying to figure out what to do. I was glad we moved our trip up this year and were able to avoid SWGE and definitely now, this hurricane, but I didn't like going in Aug as much as Sept. I'd much rather have my Sept trips and when a hurricane is brewing, people cancel or try to get out so it can be a nice treat (even if it's raining).

1 and 2 sound fine by me.

As for 3, you won't see the CL reductions on Credit Karma because they are biz cards. I think waiting a day or two after seeing it lowered on the Chase website is fine since nothing is reported to the credit bureaus. It is just what Chase sees internally when you apply. When did you get CIP1?

Early July of 2018. My AF has already posted and I’m hoping I can get a refund if I cancel soon but I won’t be fussed if I can’t make that work.

DH works Friday so I don’t think he would take the day off. I think I’ll just ask my neighbors their plan and the people at my gym. I’d feel more comfortable if they plan to stay

Omg that’s adorable lol. That actually was something it said to do: playing crying baby sounds. It also said to set up the nursery as early as possible so the cats can get their scent on things. Then put tin foil or double sided tape on the crib so they won’t try getting in
The funny thing is that we think it did help with our dog! She did freak a bit in the beginning with all the crying but after a while she just ignored. That is clever about the foil or double tape on the crib.

Just checked the Disney website and Tuesday to Friday next week for dd and I would be just shy of $1,700.00 (at YC garden view with park hoppers). Looks like most of the resorts have availability.

I won't be able to book anything until I know if dd's school will be open, which will likely be sometime on Monday.

Ok, it has been some time then. How many current Chase biz cards do you currently hold? I assume the AF posted on 8/1? I think you have 30 days for a full refund. You could even PC it, let the fee refund, apply for CIP2 (I like doing it early in the month so you have time before the AF posts), then cancel or keep the PC'ed biz card that was CIP1.

Yes, the fee posted on 8/1. I’ve been thinking of PC’ing but will dh’s referral points still post to that account if I PC it early? We had to wait until 8/20 for him to apply for his CIP and he was approved 8/21 so I know we are cutting it close.

Edit: forgot to say that I only have my CIP and SW Biz card with Chase for biz cards
