Speaking of cats... I'd appreciate some nice thoughts for my cat Lillian Norris today. She has a somewhat rare disorder and occasionally becomes disoriented and hallucinates. :guilty: She woke up today and is having one of those days, so she got one of her little kitty Prozacs before I left for work and I left her on the bed to try to relax. She snaps out of it eventually, but it has taken a couple days before. I feel so bad for her because she's clearly scared and doesn't know us, but once she snaps out of it she's totally back to normal.

Huh that’s strange about the allergies while you were pregnant. We definitely won’t be getting rid of our cats once we have a baby. I’ve been researching already just to prepare for when that happens.
There are all kinds of great ways to prepare a pet for a baby. In our case, it wasn't a good idea. The cat that severely scratched me (I had a scar for years) also would attack our other cat, and not in a playful way. He wanted to be an only cat and would not have been good with kids. Our other cat needed companionship of another cat but we did not want to get another one. So a lady my dh worked with took her. She had just lost one of her cats and had a sweet kitty that needed a friend so it was a good fit and good timing for us. Turned out my dd was so allergic, even as a baby, that we would have had to do something anyways. Sometimes things work out for a reason :)

My good friend just texted me. He's made reservations in both Miami and Orlando from Saturday to Monday, just in case! We may do the same. I'll have to give it some thought as we have the generator so we should be okay for several days whereas he doesn't have one and was miserable last time (he lost power for 7 days).

I may go to Universal on Tuesday if dd's school closes (they were closed for 6 days after Irma as they are less than a mile from the Atlantic and were hit hard -- as were we). I am actually excited about the possibility. Would love to go to WDW but I have my dog, so that won't be happening. Universal allows dogs.

THANK YOU! Yacht Club allows dogs! We will stay there if dd's school closes again! Will drive up on Tuesday morning.
I know AoA and YC. But there is a mod too. Just cant remember which one.

Lol, I tried to quote and respond to your first but then you must have edited right before I clicked to reply! At least you found one that you can stay at. It may book up fast since others will be thinking the same so I'd make a reservation sooner rather than later!

I think I’m gonna book a room at universal since they allow cats and I can book it with chase points. I just want to be able to cancel it just in case and I haven’t looked if that’s an option yet or not

I think POR is the mod that allows dogs

Just seen that they are now expecting Dorian to be Cat 3 by the time it hits Florida. Good luck with your plans and hope everyone potentially affected can find a safe location to ride this out.
Wow that changed fast. I’m waiting for Dh to get home but I honestly don’t know whether to stay or go.

I have a really important doctor appointment on Tuesday that I Hope won’t get cancelled

I've seen a lot of love here for YC and we can walk to Epcot, so I'd chose it over the others! This makes me feel a bit better with Dorian headed this way. Is it wrong to now hope that dd's school closes for a few days so we can go to Disney?

If you can I'd wait until at least Thursday, maybe Friday to make a decision. It doesn't look like she will change course, but you never know. Just have your plan in place by then. Stay safe and look after your kitties!

I am thinking about renting a car this time...gasp. Is there parking close to the LM buildings at AofA?
I can't deal with standing around at the airport rental counter on arrival. Who has the handy go-straight-to-the-car program like Hertz? I can do Hertz for $160, but want to try to beat it if another company has skip-the-counter.
Yes, there is a parking lot right by the LM rooms. Honestly more convenient than walking from the lobby!

Fort Wilderness also allows dogs in addition to YC, POR, and AoA. However, Fort Wilderness is probably not the best place to evacuate to considering it was also evacuated during Irma.

I'm hoping the same, although I doubt that will happen for us over here if the track doesn't change! I was hoping to go on Monday, maybe we'll still go and just wear our rain gear 🙂
