Thanks for posting. Oh I am so tempted! I needed one night before our October trip and by chance was able to grab the one night at Poly on points. So that $200 saved means I need to spend it on a bag right?!? Ebates/Rakuten is 10% at ShopDisney too.

Edited to add: you also get the 20% off the sale price with the discount for DVC merchandise...I cannot confirm or deny that I dipped into my precious gift card stash. :)
Definitely a great deal! I imagine they are marked down for a DRR refresh.

Hoping some more DVC merchandise is released. The website and app seem sparse.

Good for her, thank her for her service, and thank you for listening to my frequent jury diatribes! I know it can be frustrating/disappointing to sit around and wait and nothing happens, or to be an alternate and hear the evidence but then not get to decide, but it is sooo important to the process. Jurors often don't understand how important who they are/their life experiences/what they say during voir dire are to us. We once had a jury pool come in and during voir dire, a juror said something that caused us to have to dismiss the entire jury pool right there and start the trial over another day.

We had a jury trial last week and had a predominantly young jury, which is unusual for our jurisdiction. It was also 80% women on the jury. It gave me some pause that they were fairly young (even though I am too), since we are one of the few states in which a jury actually determines guilt or innocence and also sentences the defendant. I'll just say that those young ladies had no problem putting someone where they belong!

One day I'll stop subjecting you all to my lectures on jury service :rotfl2:  :rolleyes1

I am 40 "something" years old and neither DH or I have ever been called for Jury Duty. Wonder what the statistics are of never being called. I always thought it would be interesting.

I usually set my goal at 100, but I knew I'd be lower this year since I'm doing history/classics. I'm only at like 20 right now :scared: I've enjoyed what I've read this year, it just hasn't been a very productive year for me.
Lol you might be slightly behind your goal. I like to start with 100 also. This year I actually started at 110 because last year I was able to get over 100, but when we went to Japan I saw I was pretty behind so I dropped it to 100. I might raise it back up if I stay ahead. I'm currently at 60 so that's not too bad.

Has anyone done the ANA RTW ticket? I'm trying to figure out what points I can use to purchase that. I do have a stash of MRs, but also have a family of 5 so I figure business class will cost me at least 575,000 miles. I also have URs, Marriott rewards, HH, AA, and Delta. So, is there any way to transfer either URs (or United) points to buy the RTW ticket that I'm not thinking of? I know you can transfer URs to Marriott, then move all combined URs and Marriott points to ANA, but you would lose 1/3 value of the URs in that route. Originally I hoped I could transfer all of my URs to United since it was Star Alliance and do it that way, but now I'm thinking that's not right. My research says I just have to wait and accumulate MRs, which is fine, but just wondering if I'm missing anything.

I have the Marriott Bonvoy AmEx, I signed up for the offer which states if you spend $200 on room rate and incidentals, you get $40 credit. Does anyone know if this can be $200 on 2 different Marriott hotels on 2 different dates? The wording is vague and doesn't specify. Thanks.

I agree that wording is confusing. The last time they had a similar offer it did take me 2 hotels to use the offer and it worked. I think the wording was the same, but I am not 100% positive.

DH had another good story. Some guys at work were telling him how the Cabelas card is the very best card ever. One guy has a friend with his own business and puts all of his diesel purchases on it because it earns the most rewards. And that you have to have an incredibly good credit score to get it.
Apparently DH has been telling a guy at work about me attempting MS with Serve. The guy does bank bonuses but not into CC points or MS yet. He is impressed with my MS skills, which is hilarious since I have none. He needs to meet @Albort or @speedyfishy 🤣😂

I don’t recall DH ever serving jury duty and I’ve only been called once and that was 10-15 years ago (& I’m way older than you)

It's truly a great deal, which makes it dangerous! I don't generally buy expensive bags, but I've eyed these in the gift shops... I was tempted by the 40%, but then when I saw all the stacking of discounts I couldn't NOT buy something  I chose not to use gift cards because I'm trying to max out this Discover quarter (still in my first year so double cash back).

What is DRR? I'd love to see more DVC merchandise in the near future. My wallet would say otherwise, but that's another discussion for another day... ;)

Any advice on if I should apply for Citi AA Biz #2 (public offer but will be different than link used for #1) with EIN (applied for #1 with SSN). EIN was created after the whole Barclay's Aviator fun and is in DH's first and last name.

Also a DP that I successfully closed #1 via chat just a few minutes ago. No issues. Only asked why and I indicated that I had too many cards and was looking to consolidate (true!).

I went for #2 using a public offer. I just hit the spend today (I did $5k for 75k), so I'm hoping I'll know soon whether or not I've lucked out.

Just an update on the airfare to Barcelona I need to book for our cruise on RCCL Allure next July.

I haven't booked anything but right now it's looking like a strong option could be Air Canada out of Windsor. They have flights with just 1 stop (usually Toronto) for under $800 which since I have the CSR would be around 53K URs with the 1.5 multiplier. I can't book yet as our dates aren't available but they appear to have much better flight options than using United Miles on Lufthansa (requires at least 2 stops). Since I don't have any United Miles I'd have to transfer from Chase and the absolute minimum that would cost would be 60K URs plus surcharge fees. AA miles may still be a decent option, will need to wait and see once the windows open up.

We live less than 40 minutes from Windsor so depending on flight time could even drive over the night before after work and get a hotel near the airport (in case there are delays crossing the border).

Thank you to @amcc for the reminder to check cash prices. I'm still going to look into the Miami option as well.

Decisions, decisions....

I think you are in Michigan too. Have we had this discussion before? Have you thought about driving to Toronto? I've heard that's the smartest for Europe.

So apparently I'm just not going to be home or live in Michigan much of August. I just did 5 days in NC. Next week I'm off to Vegas and now I decided to book a last minute trip w/ the kids back to Myrtle Beach. We did that last year the week before school as well. I decided to use my Spirit Miles (since they have crappy reward rates) and then buy the kids seats. I have 4 free nights w IHG vacations, I just gotta sit through the presentation. I'll have the kids just hang at the pool while I do that. I'd like to find a cheaper rental car. Costco is my go to but it's $220 right now...not terrible but not great.

Has anyone gone to the airport to buy from Spirit? I've read online you can avoid the passenger fees....I paid $83 in passenger fees on the kids tickets. I'm 20 minutes from DTW (Detroit) so it's worth it to me to get the $83 back, LOL.

I just noticed I got a new Chase offer for Staples on my Disney Visa. Only 5% off up to $3.50. I added it, but will probably skip redeeming it.
Dory moment! I totally forgot to post this morning I got a 10% Staples offer from Chase. Max of $7 so I think it's the same offer that went out before. Last time I got the 5% and ended up not using it. Guess it worked, they enticed me with a higher offer this time

ETA oh and another Walmart Grocery offer for $5 back on $50.

i should send u some heavy MS hitter's shared photos...
some of them, im like... WOW...

My wife asked about this:

75,000 bonus points with the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless™ Credit Card when you spend $3,000 in the first three months

I think it's a pass because better offers are 100k for these, right???
I'm not sure. I just applied for Marriott business with the 75k. Maybe I should have waited? This thread moves really fast and questions go unanswered....at least that's been the case for me. Hopefully, someone can help you out.

It really is a great deal and I like the base color vs all the white patterns. Very striking!

DRR - Disney's Riviera Resort. HAHAHA agreed! If I see an nice 1/4 zip fleece I will need to purchase it. I feel like i've seen them all the time and now nothing but the one blue sweatshirt.

Same for us! I find that so odd.

Yes, we live about 10 min away from DTW. I’ll price out flying Toronto vs Windsor, thanks. I’d prefer just to have the short drive to Windsor but if there’s a decent savings we can handle Toronto.

We will be out of town 16 days in the past month after or upcoming trip to Disney next week. We had the trip to California and Vegas in mid July, just got back from a quick weekend to Houghton Lake, and leave for Disney in less than a week.

My friend was just telling me he saved a bunch buying Spirit tickets at the airport. It was a few years ago so I’d make sure nothing changed but it was a big savings for him (4 tickets). He did recommend trying to time it so there aren’t a ton of Spirit flights within 2 hours of when you go. Lines can be pretty long and the ticketing agents will get pulled to help check in passengers with flights.

I get notices every year and throw them in the trash. Maybe when I'm retired and don't have obligations like a job and kids I'll do it.
