I haven't had much luck with churning this week.

First, I tried to max out the 1.5% Plastiq promo using my Hyatt card to get enough spend on it for a 2nd FNC. Set up the 3 payments, but the third payment was declined. Called to clear the fraud alert on my card and tried to make the payment again. However, the system said I already used all 3 of my 1.5% promo payments, even though one was technically rejected, so I was back to 2.5% fees. Now I'm way short the spend for the FNC.

Second, I miraculously convinced DH to recon his Citi Biz AA #2 (7 days after I closed his card via chat, and 20 days since he got the denial letter for having the max number of cards allowed) and it was a total fail. CSR said they can't approve another card within 6 months of closing a card. She told DH that he would be automatically declined again because he closed his card last week, and that the only way to get approved was if she reopens that card and then tries to push the app through. She said you could have 2 biz cards open per business, and up to 5 businesses per person (or maybe she said 5 per biz and 2 per person...can't remember exactly). Huh?!? At this point, DH was over it and ended the call.

Last, to complete a fail trifecta, I tried signing up for Serve today. After all the Serve chatter, I got FOMO and wanted in. Got a message saying they couldn't approve me at this time because I already have an account. What??? I can 100% guarantee that I have never signed up for Serve! GAH! :badpc::badpc::badpc::badpc::badpc::badpc::badpc:

I give up.

I got enough Bing rewards points to get a gc. I can't decide if I want a $5 Walmart or a $5 Amazon. I'm leaning towards Walmart so we can get Disney gcs from Sam's. Does anyone know if Sam's Club will let you use multiple Walmart gcs for one transaction?

My Dad got the you've got an updated 1099 coming letter from Chase. In reviewing his CIP statements (referenced in the letter by the last 4 digits) he should have received a 1099-MISC for $600 or $1k (if they count the statement that closed Jan '19? ) but he received nothing. (Despite a warning from your's truly way back when the 1099s started coming out that he could be on the hook for it he did not report it as income and filed taxes last week.) My parents now join the waiting game on these corrected 1099s...

blah, i got a chase letter coming too.

It was randomly generated. I just added the Y's lol. Im awful at coming up with username stuff. I was thinking about making a new account because I don't want anyone to think its a drug reference. I didn't even realize until my SO pointed that out.
Okay, so I'll be THAT old person who asks.....what's the drug reference? Other than speed is there something else in there? Google came up with nothing. (My DD works in a field that has a lot of "clients" who use so I try to keep up as much as possible.)

Thank you! Do you do it in the store or online on Sam's Club's website? I see online that they don't have any $25 gcs. Do they have those in the store?
I've never seen $25 in store. I just save mine and combine them with swagbucks rewards, carpool rewards, amex offers, etc. I've got a file so I print it as soon as I've redeemed it and then check the file before I order any gcs.

I have a coworker who I have helped with chase cards in the past. Long story short, He wants to signup for a Southwest Card. He has had a personal Southwest card a year ago. He can either sign P2 up for one of the southwest personal cards or he could do a Southwest Business. They arent real worried about the 5/24. Is the annual fee still waived at opening on both personal and business. And it does make more sense to sign up for the 80,000 points $199 fee right? as compared to 60,000 $99 fee.

The annual fees are not waived the first year on any of the SW cards...business or personal

If he is interested in getting the SW companion pass for 2019/2020 he could sign up for 2 cards...and earn over the 110,000 points needed.....just meet the spend all in 2019...either the 2 business cards or a business and personal card

It's a mid/late Sept opening isn't it? Our APs will expire 9/2 😭

There's too many things opening on the 29th of various months, having a hard time remembering which is which :)

I think they mail it to you. I just checked my refrigerator and I have several on there, plus the DVC ones and the F&W ones....it's just a mess of Disney junk. I have Mickey with the Chef's hat so I'll match up with Minnie in the hat this fall, plus hopefully the coasters. Also have the cutting board from last year and the glasses from previous years.

I never got one. Not sure if it's because I picked up a band from the place in liberty square so I didn't have to wait til I got home to request one or not. Makes me sad because I wanted one. I did get the one from F&W for the 1st day visit though I got both on the 4th day because that's just easier.

Sam's doesn't do $25 ones either in store or online. It's only within the last year or so that they even have ones under $100. Well, thinking about it, I guess I technically lie - they have a 3 pk of $25 cards that'll cost you $72 bucks. But I suspect that's not helpful :)

You could attempt to get a $25 from Walmart in store.

I finally had some sucess. Maybe. I just got of the phone with Citi Recon for my own AA biz card #2 and got approved! I closed card #1 three days ago, and the closure wasn't brought up at all during the recon call - only the opening of that card. The rep said that since I had opened that card within the last 48 months, that I wouldn't be able to get a bonus for card #2. He said he could go ahead an approve me for the card as long as I was okay with not getting the bonus. I went ahead with opening it, hoping the bonus is still attached, but now wondering if he may have manually removed it. Thing is, I used a mailer with a straight points offer, so I can't just buy a GC to see if the offer is attached. And it's a large MSR - $5k - not worth doing Plastiq if there's no bonus for me. My only thought was to do that refundable hotel thing, or maybe refundable cruise deposit, as a test first? Any thoughts?
