Seriously considering jumping in on this Serve action. I've got a WM super close and a FD, so I guess it's worth a try. Need to go back and read up more to make sure I know what I'm doing.

Also passholders, there are 3 new magnets. 2 F&W (Minnie and Remy) and one Lion King in AK. Minnie dates 8/29-10/14 and Remy dates 10/15-11/23. Simba starts 8/29. There wasn’t a Remy photo.

There is also a passholder coaster for 4 Epcot visits during F&W

I collect these magnets and I'm so sad we aren't APs right now. We will flying down 8/28, but won't be able to get Simba or Minnie since we let our APs lapse. I have vouchers attached in MDE, but we're saving those to activate in April. I'll end up having to jump on some FB groups for APs to see if I can get one from someone.

How do you get that regular AP magnet that you see all over so many cars in FL?

We received our orange magnets in the mail shortly after we returned from our first AP trip. We had upgraded our tickets to APs on that trip, so I assume that's why they were mailed after the fact. When we renewed the next 2 times, we received new ones in the mail. I have read mixed reviews of people receiving them. Some get them every year while some say they never got them.

The regular orange Mickey is mailed a few weeks after activating. I have seen some reports of people never getting it. I personally got it and know my mom got multiple of the same mailer. No rhyme or reason!

As for the other festival/seasonal magnets they are limited to 1 per AP. If your DD is going, have her bring all your cards or an extra band. I have picked up for my entire family when it was just me going! I believe Pluto ran out during F&G last year, but they got more of him in. Always try politely asking a CM if there are extras of the previous release. If they still have them, you can usually get them.

Disney likes to do special things for F&W to have constant park traffic. 2016 was a tumbler, 2017 was nothing, 2018 was the cutting board, 2019 is the coaster. You can't just bring all the cards/bands for this. Each person must swipe into Epcot the desired number of times. It also doesn't count in and out for a break. It counts it by day. So for a coaster you need to visit Epcot 4 separate days this year during the date period.

I love the new Remy magnet! Did the cutting boards run out pretty fast last year? Since you have to do 4 visits we would have to split it between two weekends most likely
I honestly don't think they ran out at all. I just got annoyed when Disney released the information because I was split 2 days Epcot/MK resort and wasn't going to double monorail for it. It was really tiny (good for an apple) and you also had to go to the festival center which was the exact opposite side of the IG so I gave up trying to fit it into my 180+ planned trip. LOL This year the old festival center is under construction so the new location may be easier from the IG.

I tried in December when they had the pins with a giftcard purchase and they wouldn’t let me charge to the room. I’ll be trying it again though lol.

Looks like I need two more weekend trips. This is why I can’t save money.
Doesn't hurt to ask!

I know, I want to justify another trip, but then I think I should just pay $10 on eBay for the magnet instead 😂 (But what's the fun in that 😞)

I mean... would it be ridiculous to uber to Epcot resort area everyday from AoA to scan in at International Gateway, and then go to another park? :rotfl:
This was my issue. The logistics of getting the swipes. If I was local I would have no issue. I really plan my days out and they are usually very structured. My fall trips have been short so getting the free item would require giving up FP+ or dining or something that IDK I want to do. It is also harder to drag my entire family for the swipe item. The magnets are simple.

I would honestly try it with the voucher. What can you lose? Swipe into the park with your regular ticket, go into the MDE and transfer the voucher, try to get the free item, and transfer the voucher back. I doubt the iPad they use to verify the AP could activate the voucher in any way.

I think it's something to watch - we know that people attempt MDDs regularly on r/churning. It will be interesting to see if this is an outlier or a real risk... I wouldn't absolutely rule it out until we have more clarity.
Thank you for sharing. I was thinking about DH doing a MDD in a few months instead of going for CIP 2. Going to wait and see what our next cards will be. Definitely plan to take our time and go slow.

I’m trying to keep track of how long it takes me to liquidate VGCs. For anyone that’s interested I liquidated $4,000 between serve and money orders. I left my apartment at 9:55 and was done at 11:05. I picked up two items from one of the grocery stores though and got a redbox movie. After I went to BBB and Home Depot to exchange my happy cards for Disney Giftcards I was back home at 11:48.

No wonder you call yourself "speedy"!

theres a reason why the MDD post is in credit cards and not in churning... churning will tear him apart lol.
lots of missing info but i havent delved into the comment section yet.
First thing I noticed.

I think there's got to be additional info that wasn't shared.
They actually talk about MDD over there too so that doesn’t seem fishy to me at all. It’s potentially tied to an increase in the utilization or something along those lines. That’s why I’ve identified it as something to monitor. If it’s a real issue we will have numerous DPs soon due to the volume of MDDs occurring on reddit.

I think they mail it to you. I just checked my refrigerator and I have several on there, plus the DVC ones and the F&W ones....it's just a mess of Disney junk. I have Mickey with the Chef's hat so I'll match up with Minnie in the hat this fall, plus hopefully the coasters. Also have the cutting board from last year and the glasses from previous years.

We got 4 of the tumblers in 2016 - we still use them all of the time - they are great glasses.

i mean, not a single person asked for his 5/24 status and AoAA in the past 23 hours since it posted. he seem to have applied for many new cards in the past 2 years(he listed 3). just based on those, MDD will put him at 5/24. 4/12. chances are the 4/12 got chase worried.
thats just my 2 cents though...

So I am intrigued by DCP (I know DS has a bit of time (5 years) before he is even off to college. Does she still go to college full-time while in DCP? Does it extend when you will complete college? I am guessing depending on what your major is DCP may not be a good fit? Pretty sure DS will be doing some in engineering/math/sceience realm.
My DD did the DCP while in college. You do not have to be a full time student while doing the DCP. Some kids don't take any classes at all - others take a full load to maintain scholarship status or because of financial aid requirements. It varies greatly. My DD took one online class while she was there because if she did not her school told her should have to with draw and reapply when she wanted to go back. DCP is not always a good fit related to their major - but it is still a GREAT program with many benefits - working for a fortune 500 company is always a nice thing to have on any young persons resume.

So sad that we won't be there for F&W this year. I got the cutting board last year and I like the Minnie Coasters even better!

I was crazy and got mine my first trip during F&W but they still had them towards the end if I am remembering correctly.

If that is crazy, I was SO crazy last year. I took a bus to EPCOT arriving a few minutes before close just to tap in and leave. The rest of my trips were "organic" as we might say here. I managed to get my cutting board on a 5 day trip with my kid (so less time in EPCOT than an adult only trip for us) and I was pretty proud.
Okay that's good to hear. I didn't know if the coasters would be gone right away like a lot of the other special stuff they do at WDW. We most likely will have to spread it out over two weekends because I don't see us going for 4 days straight, making Dh miss work.

When we got our APs just recently Dh was sent a magnet, but I never did get one.

Geez - these 1099 issues with Chase continue to filter through...

2 CIP clicks would be valued at $400 so it seems they lowered their threshhold for who is getting a 1099... I know there's been scattered commentary on our thread about these letters and issues. I'm not sure if anybody actually got the new 1099 and reported back what the issues were.
Hmmm. That is interesting. I was hoping to keep my referrals to under $600 to avoid this exactly.
