...or borrow from friends (looking at you, $350 P-Chem textbook).
Hahaha! we had book like that for a statistical analysis class for non-math nerds. Thank goodness the kids in the grade ahead of us told us not to buy it. They said someone in the class we knew would buy it and everyone could bum off that person- it worked well
Still getting the 30 day message when I call - hasn’t been 24 hours since applying though. This is getting ahead of myself but how do you refer yourself for another CIP? I missed a lot of threads explaining this I’m sure!

30 days is a good sign, hopefully you’ll hear back within a week :)

I like to go through Costco for this reason. Free second driver and they always have competitive rates.
I cannot remember the last time I rented a car, but we are renting one for our inventory search to San Diego this weekend and I ended up going through Costco! I could get a (very slightly) larger car plus a free second driver for about the same cost as a smaller car. I guess a second driver usually costs more? My husband usually drives but it is nice to have options!

I have a car currently rented for an upcoming trip - one night (two day rental) - compact SUV through autoslash I got alamo for $75. I just checked costco for same dates/type of car - cheapest was $99. If I want to go down to $75 through costco I would have to get a compact car - much smaller than the SUV I already have rented. I shop around when I rent cars and have always found autoslash to give me the best deals. They recently partnered with priceline if that makes any difference.

First I’ve heard of them. Will have to check them out next time.

Ok, just submitted my application for a BoA Advantage Plus account. Put $100 via debit card and declined a new debit card and overdraft protection. It did give me the option to create an online account so I did that and now my application is under review! Hopefully it doesn't take too long like others here have reported.
Replying to myself because I just checked my e-mail and I see that I was actually approved for the BoA account within 21 minutes of applying 😂

My DD is all set. Now I sit and wait :surfweb:

With all the SWGE fun I almost forgot to provide an update in the saga of DH’s Aviator Business card. He was approved, we went to use and it didn’t work. Called to find out security verification hold. Endless calls and escalation and no one could really tell him what he needed to provided let alone a working fax or email to send it to. Ended up getting an EIN (free and super easy), emailed that to the one address that didn’t bounce back. Fast forward nearly 2 months and he finally gets escalated high enough to be told they need articles of incorporation. Why they couldn’t tell him the million other times he called is beyond me. So we threw in the towel, told them to cancel card and they will mail a check for the $95 annual fee we paid for a card we could never use. And to top it off both DH and I have been Barclays card holders (for years the 2% Priceline cards were our daily spenders) for over 6 years. Worst banking experience ever.

When you request a quote they ask for all your memberships types - costco, airlines, etc and supposedly use all the available discounts to get the best price.

ETA - I first heard of them a few years ago somewhere on the disboards - probably the transportation thread

Love Actually, The Holiday, Miracle on 34th Street (with Richard Attenborough), It’s a Wonderful Life.

Christmas in July! Because the real one is still too far away.
I have been watching Hallmark Christmas movies while I work for the last couple of weeks :-)

Our group here is definitely not the norm among churners. I think the majority of our group here is outliers. Are we the island of misfit churners? Maybe...but we are WAY BETTER than any other churning group I participate in :D

I wonder if the reason this group seems to be so much more of a community than other churning groups is because there are so many outliers here 🤔

DH's Chase United Card is coming up on one year. Not sure we want to churn it, but when would he be eligible to apply and get the SUB again?

PC the Explorer card to the no fee MileagePlus card to keep expanded award availability, the 25% cardmember bonus on MPX, and help with AAoA.

DH will be eligible for SUB on the Explorer card again 24 months after he got the bonus on this Explorer card, assuming he's still under 5/24.

Thanks. PC is the plan.....Wish I could do that through SM....he hates calling.

What is AAoA?

So what's the point of having a Sole Prop option if you can't actually be a Sole Prop to get the card??? They get more bizarre by the minute for me. Glad I grabbed mine last year. Although I might be part of the problem with my one purchase and never used again... :rolleyes1

I keep meaning to but almost anything else is a better use of spend, even for a couple bucks. I did try to fund my WF checking account with it to have some activity on the card but I couldn't open online so there went that. Was thinking I might try it again after I close it out to avoid Citi but might not be an option with the random crackdown. Not sure why some get nabbed and others are fine. :confused3 Sucks you got caught up in it, but glad you were able finally close it and get the fee back. I know that's been an issue for many.

Love hallmark movies year round!

:offtopic: I've been watching Gossip Girl for about a week now and I love it! I'm already almost on Season 4 so obviously I've been watching a lot lol

It's getting rebooted and I'm not sure how I feel about it. Wonder if they'll get Kristen Bell to voice GG again because it really can only be her. I just don't get how they can reboot when we know who the OG GG is so wouldn't it just lead to the same type of person. Though if they could get them to be a teacher at Constance or something and still be GG as a pathetic adult that would be kinda awesome.
