Maxed the Discover PayPal 5% with BJ's Disney Giftcards. Not a great deal, but I have 4k worth and I still need 8.5K more. (2k for annual passes, (maybe 4k if we do the coast to coast idk) 1k for spending in DL, 4k for our ABD, $500 for 2020 DVC dues, and maybe 1K for spending for our wedding trip)

Swagbucks are still face value for me.

CHEEEEHOOOOOOOOOOO!

Just popping in to say that I just woke up at 3:45 am PST on our Disneyland/San Diego trip to schedule FP's for my Sept trip to WDW. I hate FPP right now.
#FirstWorldProblems#ChurnerProblems

There's only three of us going in Sept for a 5 day trip. Couldn't get SDD (except 5th day after we take off - not going to work), FoP, or SDMT. Pretty disappointing morning. I'll have to go read up on the SDFP method on dischurners. Oh well, I'll keep checking and see if anything pops up. If not maybe the extra early magic hours will help. It's kind of weird, this is by far the worst I've done on FP's at 60 days for a trip, and Sept/fall is supposed to be soft as far as crowds. :confused3:confused3:confused3

On another note I love MaxPass! DD6 rode BTMR 8 times yesterday! I think we've ridden Hyper SM 10 or so this trip, RSR 4 times, Indy 4 or 5 times, and so much more! We've been so busy with rides we've barely had time for eating. Had "dinner" last night at 11:15 (kids ate at hotel before we returned- don't want anyone to think I'm starving my children!) Heading to San Diego today, the weather should be better (low 80's). It's been hot here (mid-90's). Not humid though, contrary to what I've overheard people saying :)

Ok, back to bed for me!

Aww that's a bummer. I'm getting there just a couple days before you and it's the best I've ever done on FPs. I'm seeing some availability for FoP on the 25th and 26th?

I’m embarrassed to ask this because I feel like I should be smarter than this, but here goes.

I don’t have many airlines’ frequent flyer points. We seldom fly anymore, and when we do it’s usually Frontier so I have those.

I’m looking to book a flight through the Chase portal. The cash price is $338. The miles price is 24,000 or 37,000 United Airlines miles (depending on the flight). How do I determine if I should transfer point to United (I don’t believe I have any there already unless they last for more than a decade...) or if I should pay cash through Chase?

Do you have the CSR or CSP?
338/.015=22,533
338/.0125=27,040

: :offtopic: : the business that I use for my biz cards is a rental house we have on cape cod. This is our third summer with it and we just had a new issue come up. Hoping some of you, who have used AirBNB, might have opinions on how to handle this.
You may have seen on the news that there was a tornado on the cape yesterday. We were very lucky that there was no major damage to the house, but there has been no power since yesterday afternoon.
Not sure what if anything we should be doing for the renters who are in there now. We’ve been in touch with them and they are fine, they were in a different town during it. We told them where the flashlights were and let them know if they needed to buy some candles or batteries, we would reimburse them.
I don’t believe we have any legal obligation, since it’s weather related. But we do try to be fair and reasonable hosts.
What would your expectations be in this case?
What if it’s out for a couple of days? The power company is not giving any estimates on when it’ll be back on.
Thanks for any thoughts on it.
So the power came back on - it was out for about 24 hours. Still trying to decide what we should do for the renters, they are there until Saturday. Should we get them a gift card to somewhere (thinking $100)? Maybe a Visa Gift Card? Would that be enough? Should we refund a night ($500)? Offer a discount if they come back next year? As a renter what would your expectations be in a case like this?

My FP day is Tuesday, with only a 4 day trip, so I am not real hopeful about ours either. I have been checking on the SDFP method and it's not been finding much the last couple of days that I have been testing it.

So if I'm understanding you correctly, the cash price of a United flight is $338. Let's just go with that number.

If you're looking at this flight from the Chase UR portal, and you have UR points, the amount of UR points it'll cost will depend on which card you're logged into the portal with and which card you use to redeem your UR. That's because the CIP and CSP give you a 25% bonus (or 1.25x multiplier) on the value of your UR points, and the CSR gives you a 50% bonus (or 1.5x multiplier).

So a flight that costs $338 in cash will cost you:

$338/0.015 = ~22,533 UR on the CSR

or

$338/0.0125 = 27,040 UR on the CIP or CSP

UR points transfer to United miles 1:1. So if this same flight costs 37,000 United miles as an award seat, you'll need to transfer 37,000 UR to United to book the same flight that you could book on the Chase portal for as little as 22,533 UR. So obviously in the case, booking through the Chase portal wins.

But one more thing, because booking on the Chase portal acts like paying cash through a OTA (online travel agent), your United ticket purchased with UR points will earn you award miles on United. If you transferred UR to United, then used the United miles to book the flight, it would be considered an award flight that doesn't earn any miles. I know we're probably talking about a relatively small amount of miles here, but every little bit counts.

And one final thing, booking with UR gets you the travel protections of the card you're redeeming from.

Not sure if this has died since, but it didn't work for me. I have a short SW flight $89 coming up. 7/20 purchased, no counter decrease or credit. My other amex offers purchased on 7/22 already credited today.

Quoting myself to update my DP. I spoke too soon. Between yesterday and this morning, my counter meter decreased. Still no credit on the activity, but I'm optimistic it'll show today or tomorrow.
