Our flight from Glasgow to London Heathrow tonight was cancelled. No other flights out until tomorrow but our flight from London Heathrow back home is early in the morning before any flights from Glasgow would arrive. Thank goodness for Uber. The drive is going to be 6 - 7 hours The Uber driver told us his wife can’t believe he took a fare to Heathrow just to get out of driving his visiting mother in law back home

We still don’t know for certain the exact amount. For such a long distance drive Uber only gives you a price range. It will likely be in the neighborhood of 700 GBP give or take. I’ve no intention of paying real money for it. Either BA will pay for it, CSR travel insurance will pay for it or we will take a statement credit with URs. It’s times like this that I am glad we have a good stash of UR points. In any case, even if we didn’t, it’s still not a bad price to get 3 people and their luggage to LHR.

Picked up two of the no fee VGCs at Staples today. Got $5 back with Dosh, used CIP for one to go towards MSR and DH’s CIC for the other. My Serve card came in yesterday so hopefully tomorrow I can try out loading from the VGC for the first time at Wal Mart!

omg guys. not that this is a make it or break story, but. DH has been scared to use his Platinum because it got declined at the Auntie Anne's at the airport on Sunday I told him there was nothing strange on the account, no weird activity, plus he used it all over WDW that whole weekend, it should be fine. On Thursday we stopped at this new-ish pizza place by us. I was all excited because it was on Dosh for 5%, PEI for 10%, and the SW dining portal. I didn't get an instant notification from any of them, and still haven't seen anything. I just logged into his AMEX account and he used his Platinum! Um I made the assumption he would use his CSR for DINING as it is labeled and I haven't told him not to use it for dining/taken it away in a long time (because we've been able to meet MSR without shifting all category spend). Oh DH...

Both girls have checked in. The one in the desert was clueless, the one in the city felt it and is ready to come home! (Although we DO have earthquakes in Oregon too.) I'm still uncertain of her location, only that they had to drive two hours after landing at the airport. Not even sure what airport! Lol

My DD is kind enough to text me where she is, when there is cell phone coverage that is. But I'll say that 1-2 miles from the Bay Area should be fine. We felt nothing either time and we are in the Bay Area. I hear you on the gray hair. Every time DD flies I swear I get at least 20 more.

There's a good chance it'll rain somewhere but maybe not where you are or it'll be done in the morning. Look at komo or download their weather app, you'll get a better idea watching than looking at weather.com. we have 2 mtn ranges, a convergence zone or 2 and other things tha make it difficult to know just by looking at a 5 day forecast.

Also we get marine layers so you may not see sun til lunch, may not at all or it could be sunny all day. Pack shorts, pants and layers. Just like with SF don't be that peraon walking around in a city sweatshirt becauae you thought it was summer

There's a difference between getting one to wear at home and getting one and having to wear it on the trip. Like people in winter that suddenly have wdw jackets because they didn't think it got cold in florida. It's just the surest way to know you're a tourist.

I think the only day that has rain aside from this weekend is Wed, the rest were low 70's and clouds. But last Tuesday they said it would be mid to upper 70's this weekend and I was excited only have them change it to 70-72 which bummed me out. But you'll want the sweatshirt in the mornings and at night. It's been getting down to the 50's at night and we're closer to/on the water so it can be a chilly wind.

The other way to tell if you can see the flight paths, if they are taking off and landing to the north it'll be warmer/better. If they are taking off to the south it won't be as warm. And if you see them change during the day the weather is probably going to change.

I'll have to check the reddit to catch up on the week. I was bummed my Citi#2 didn't get here before I left for NC. So all the money I spent this week went back onto my old faithful, CSR. I got home last night and saw my Citi#2 was here. So I activated it this morning and hit Staples. I bought $400. Then I came home and my Serve was delivered. So I went off to Walmart. Easy peasy and the money is now on the Serve card.

Since it was so easy, and my Staples didn't care, I went back and bought another $600 in cards. I'll wait and transfer those over to the Serve this week. I wish I was brave enough to just clean out my Staples and buy the $5k I need for the Citi MSR, but I'll go 1/5th for now and hope for another fee free GC offer, or I'll hit the spend organically, LOL.

Well today has been tiring. But let's just say I'm making a dent toward my $15k free night award with Hilton.

DH and I worked like dogs on the yard landscape yesterday morning (we worked early and we could still wring out our shirts when done. It's miserable hot here right now).

We spent a fair amount on some things we needed: some new bushes, hose reel, another hose, etc. Regular house owner stuff that costs $400 every time you visit Lowes. We were hooking up the new hose last night and I said "why is that weep hole gushing?" Dh kept ignoring me. He paid attention when I said "The sump pump kicked on!"

We BOLTED to the basement and sure enough - leak city. We have been using the spigot around back for all watering. And I don't allow much watering because it is a waste for the environment. So this was the first time the front of house spigot was turned on this year.

We got very lucky because the leak happened in the shop area of the basement - essentially unfinished. We spent all of last winter finishing the basement ourselves so it could have been worse. But we've spent today mitigating the issue - DH had to cut out the old spigot (it was cracked because it froze and was installed wrong when the house was built), remortar, etc.

We've been to the Lowes, Menards and Home Depot multiple times today. He's downstairs working again. I'm worn out and waved the white flag. It's wine and DIS time for me.

DME tags usually come around 30 days from check-in date via USPS in an Mickey envelope with your flight information.

DME tags used to come before bands, but the upgraded bands now ship as soon as the order is confirmed and paid.

I currently have a SW Chase Visa card I have had for a couple of years. The offer I got was to get 75 thousand miles based on certain amount of purchases within a time period, which I did. I have used those miles to travel to MCO.

I want to know if I cancel the card will the balance of the miles I have as part of the originally 75 thousand be deleted from my account? After cancelling the card, how long do I have to wait in order to apply to get a new offer?

Currently what do you think the best SW Chase offer is? I see one for 80 thousand but it is $199 fee.
