What's on YOUR Thanksgiving table?

It's DW and I and we haven't done the *DINNER thing* for many years. I asked her if she wanted me to do a turkey breast with mashed/gravy + veggies and biscuits with an Oreo ice box cake for desert. She ordered up a 4oz. piece of Butterball's Turkey Breast Tenderloin cooked on the George Forman with sweet peas + quinoa AND the Oreo IBC.

Since she will be helping out at our local 5K Turkey Trot tomorrow (leaves the house at 5AM) I'll make her Juicy Egg with bacon bits on a lightly toasted Thomas English muffin as soon as she wakes today.

At 3am I began making the *Veggie Soup* that her grandmother made then her mom then dad and turned off the stove at 5am with it resting until she samples it to make sure it's OK???? If approved she will have it for dinner tonight, I'll have my Sockeye Salmon, and freeze the rest in containers for future dinners and give enough for a few dinners to our 85yo neighbor who really likes it.

Will give a container to her sister who loves it but does not make it. Next time her sister in NJ calls she will simply say "m - m - m" which is the code phrase for *John made Dad's Soup* to which her sister will reply, *Oh SHUT UP* and laugh. When NJ sister had COVID and was in the hospital I made a batch of the soup, froze a huge Ziploc bag of it, made a super tight Styrofoam container with ice packets and sent in Next Day Air so she had it when she got home from the hospital.

OOPS, she just gave it 2 thumbs up.

I will make coffee cake for breakfast.

My granddaughter always makes a charcuterie board for everyone to munch on at lunch time.
We usually have dinner around 5 o'clock:

Turkey
Mashed potatoes
Stuffing
Sweet potato casserole
Green bean casserole
Macaroni & Cheese
Deviled eggs -- making 48 this year because everyone fights over them
Cranberry sauce
Gravy
Rolls & butter
Pumpkin pie for dessert

This is the first year in over 25 that I'm not making dinner (work and class stuff going on). DH and I are taking his aunt to a local hotel restaurant that's having a Thanksgiving buffet. They're having standard Thanksgiving fare, but also some appetizers, brunchy stuff (omelets, etc.), soups, fresh shrimp and crab claws. Desserts are a variety of pies, pastries, and cakes. No cleanup!

...but no leftovers either. 😢

I cook every year, but this year there will only be 5 of us so a very small dinner. Kids & their families will be elsewhere, as will other family members. Keeping the menu pretty much the same, making the appetizers much smaller. Also trying to avoid to many leftovers as my husband leaves for a hunting trip firs thing Friday morning for several days -

Turkey
Ham
Stuffing
Sweet potatoes
Corn
Green beans
yeast rolls
cranberry sauce
mashed potatoes
creamed onions if I get around to it
pumpkin roll & sliced apples w/ cream cheese & caramel dip for dessert

appetizers will just be a crudité and spinach dip.

Friday or Saturday I'll cook down the turkey and make soup & get that in the freezer, and possibly also make some ham & bean soup and get that in the freezer.

Turkey
Gravy
Bell's Stuffing (I add a stick of butter, diced onions and celery)
Acorn Squash (baked with s & p, butter and maple syrup)
Yams
Cranberry Sauce
Mashed Potatoes
Green Beans Almondine
Peas
Rolls
Cheese and Crackers
Veggie Tray
Apple Pie
Pecan Pie
Vanilla Ice Cream

I will be cooking for just myself, but plan on not having to cook again for like 4 days.

Turkey
Grandma's Stuffing
Green Bean Casserole
Crescent Rolls
Gravy
Cinnamon Apples

I am making a 22# turkey, some jazzed up box stuffing, home made mashed (10# worth), a massive amt of gravy, roast asparagus and roast brussels, baked mac n cheese, 3# of cranberry sauce (I am the only one that eats it, too...), and some kind of pumpkin cake.

Oh, and I am only feeding 3 of us. I LOVE leftovers. Like - I will take the leftover turkey meal before the fresh cooked one.

Baked Chicken Thighs
Stuffing (box)
Gravy (jarred)
Corn
Chocolate Silk Pie (frozen)

None of us like turkey and over the years we've done lasagna, homemade pizza, ribs, etc. Just 3 of us and I'm cooking enough for leftovers Friday.

Only 2 of us this year. We are going out. Solved the "no leftovers" problem by buying a couple of pounds of cooked turkey from a local place that does really good turkey

Usually the cat. LOL

As for what I am making for the meal. - Turkey Breast, Mashed Potatoes, Stove Top stuffing and whole berry cranberry sauce. With Pecan pie for dessert. Since it is only me, I am only make the foods I want to make/eat. Skipping the dinner rolls because why do we need them with the stuffing. And no veggie because there is already enough food that I want to eat & enjoy.
