@Lain is on vacation through Sunday. Happy Independence Day everybody! Hope you all are enjoying a long weekend. Don't get too crazy around here.
@disneymagicgirl, I don't think 7 cards is too many, provided you spaced them out appropriately. I think Chase is more concerned about the total amount of credit lines they've extended to you. I keep the credit lines on cards I don't use often low, <$5k. If you have some business cards that are over a year old and you're not using, feel free to close them. Most folks are at 3-4 open Chase business cards, some have 5 (and I've even seen 6); but I would hesitate pushing the limit. I periodically close Chase business cards that I'm no longer using enough of because they're not reported so they don't contribute or hurt your AAoA. This helps to keep my credit lines in check, at or under 4 Chase business cards open at a time, and from having (what I feel for me is) too many cards open to manage. For example, I closed my 2+ year old CIP because CIPpy cup. I also recently closed my CIC because while it does earn an awesome 5x UR at office supply stores, Gyft, and internet, it hasn't earned me 100k URs in value with at least a 15% return in the past year that I could get from opening another CIP. I've shifted Gyft and internet over to DW's CIC and plan to request an employee card for me to use at office supply stores.
Good luck!
