I love credit cards so much! v2.0 (see first page for add'l details)

Well if you want some more fun details:

You're 49th in the "positive score only" category. However if we go with the "raw" score (which includes downvotes) you move up to 45th (which means some of the people above you probably get downvoted more than you).

I'm at 10th in "positive" and 11th in "raw". What I find pretty cool about my stat is that I garnered 2,000+ karma on just 261 comments @ 7.9 karma per comment. (You are at a 4.8 per comment which is pretty darn good!)

Of course our friend Andy is in 3rd in both categories and also has an impressive 7.6 karma per comment (vs. the top 2 who are at 2.2 and 3.0 respectively.

I'd challenge people familiar with r/churning to guess who is on top of the karma pile...it may surprise you...It used to always be OJ but he's slid down to 4th now...
7.6?! Well let’s be real @Andysol uses his adorable kids and wonderful wife for all that karma love :rotfl2:

OJ is in 4th? Wow. Although he has slowed down since the 1099s came out... 🤣 I really don’t have a decent guess for who is at the top of this Pile of Insanity right now!

The annual fee on DH's CIP#1 just came due. Should I downgrade to CIC? That's the one with no annual fee, correct? Is the only other option to just cancel the card?
I downgraded mine to a CIU and got another CIP. If the cippy cup dries up, I can always close the CIU and reopen it with the SUB, but there is no reason to open it as long as I can do CIPs for 80/20k instead.

Yes, but why open a CIC for 50k UR when you can open another CIP for 80k UR (+20k UR)?

Even if @ski_mom were to downgrade to a CIC, she could still apply for another CIC for the 50k UR SUB under the same principle as the CIPpy cup in that there are no timing or current cardholder restrictions being enforced against any Ink product or their SUBs. (But again, as long as the cup keeps flowing, why apply for a CIC when you can go for another CIP?)
Haha, I should’ve kept reading before I posted my reply. Great minds...

We will only be there 2.5 days, so mainly food, shows (lain and others have mentioned the Cirque shows as must dos), and any landmarks? Looks like we may we staying at Bellagio, so that would check off the fountains, if so :)

@platamama also, going to Vegas here :wave2: did you ever get an answer to your question about Chase Luxury bookings and Casears Diamond? I would be curious about the same, but scanning through I don't think I saw an answer yet?

I haven't found an answer on here, but on Flyertalk I found a thread where comments indicate that you can book thru Chase LHR and put in your Chase card info for the booking, but when you check out at the property you can pay with a different card. So I'm considering doing that because I have an Amex offer for MGM properties (Bellagio is looking promising!) in Vegas.

On singleflyer's blog, he says you don't have to stay at a Caesars property to get the free show tickets, but I'm not finding any clarification for the $100 dining credit. Mostly I've read that you just need to show your physical Caesars Rewards that has the dining credit loaded to it, so it seems to me that it should work regardless of where you're staying. I've asked on the blog so I'll just see if he replies. I'll post here when I find out anything.

Thanks! Looks like we are tracking similarly with the Vegas trip. I wanted to use the MGM offer as well, but couldn't figure out how to make it work most efficiently. If the Chase LHR route is feasible, that would work out very nicely because I have 4 offers between myself, DH, and my parents each have it on their as well. Still trying to debate whether I would be better off using the Amex FHR benefit as well...decisions. If the week we chose wasn't so darn expensive (the weeks before and after are $100-150 cheaper per night), it would make this much easier :headache:

I think @SouthFayetteFan has given up trying to maintain any semblance of order on r/churning and started full-on trolling. Welcome to the Purge!
Haven't caught up here yet to see if you shared examples, but I was just going to say y'all are ruthless tonight! I had trouble getting the DIS to load so I started getting caught up over there first and found your double team on the CSR newbie  Not that it wasn't funny nor completely accurate but I don't think that was welcome that guy had in mind :duck::rotfl:

I really hope this isn't a release of pent up frustrations from us, cuz watch out Reddit, the DIS team is on a tear!

(BTW @Lain totally busted out laughing on your Bust Out risk caution in another thread  Now to attempt to finish up here before another couple pages get added...)

Bank bonus question :wave2:

According to the lovely write-up on dischurners, it appears that a hub bank checking account is a good thing to have when chasing multiple bank bonuses. How do you know if the bank/account will allow multiple you to connect multiple banks to it? What are some good accounts you guys use? Reading the DoC article and comments on hub accounts made my head all :faint:

Our current checking account is a money market account connected to our investment accounts and to dh's job. So we kinda need to be careful there lol

My actions there are not a reflection whatsoever of my feelings towards this group. I would never stop helping newbies and friends here. r/churning is setup the way it is for a reason. It works. And if left unchecked, it could ruin churning for everybody. Reddit is full of idiots who have no antenna for how to responsibly churn. They will call the CEO, they will ask AMEX about their airline GC reimbursement and they will not rest until they get every loophole shutdown due to their selfish and irresponsible behavior.

My actions there are to protect the game that we love!! Luckily the size of our group AND the type of people that we attract make is such a better place to learn and help people. And I don’t imagine that ever changing!

EDIT: And I should add to that list that they will post step by step guides in a public forum of how to abuse loopholes which will be read by employees of the card issuers and SHUT DOWN. You all remember PNC bank funding, right? I told you how that got shut down... and I'm pretty sure it was all the blatant discussion about it on r/churning.

I’ve technically cashed out over $5000 now paying for our September Disney trip. So while it’s not technically $5k in my pocket, it is “cash” we otherwise wouldn’t have really had to spend on this trip as we spend most of our “fun money” on horses. Good for him if it’s the right call to accomplish his goals. I’ll admit, I’ve looked at my points before and thought “I could pay off a student loan with that” lol. But, we’re still paying all our bills and enjoying our hobby, and we’re fortunately able to vacation through the use of points. So I think it works out well for us :)

I’ve been happy with Ally. No fees, can connect up to 20 accounts, transfers take 1-3 business days (they tell you how long when you set the transfer). They don’t offer a bonus so you can open without fear of losing a bonus down the road.

I currently have a Priority Pass through the CSR. It looks like there are two lounges in Terminal 5 in O’Hare, and I’m traveling with a group. Does anyone know if I can bring two guests into one lounge, leave them there and bring two others into the other lounge? My Google-fu skills have failed to find the answer to this one—thanks!

Oh HELOC how I love you!! My payment posted today for the $4,465 I had spent to hit my wife's Citi Biz #2 MSR. The bank backdated the payment to Friday (as the check showed up Saturday) and so I paid $2.20 interest for the 3 days I had the money borrowed.

Again I say...Oh HELOC how I love you!!

I cancelled my CIP1 when it was a year old since I have a CIC and CIU so don’t want to have too many Chase business cards open
I downgraded mine to a CIU and got another CIP. If the cippy cup dries up, I can always close the CIU and reopen it with the SUB, but there is no reason to open it as long as I can do CIPs for 80/20k instead.

Thank you all - I hadn't thought about the CiU. I'm leaning toward doing that since I already have a CIC for myself that I can use for the 5x office stores/netflix, etc. I'm going to think on it overnight and contact them tomorrow.

Thanks again!

Wait, the thing I took away from this blog post is that he could get over 2x that amount towards Apple products. HOW DO I DO THAT?!

Mine cashes out at the same rate as redeeming for Apple products. Am I missing something or does he just have 2,113,656 and is only selecting 1,000,000 for cash?! His comments don't allude to that, he makes it seem like getting $10,000 cash is easier than the equivalent $20,000+ in Apple products to resell.

I saw that too!

I was also thinking it'd be a better deal to redeem for Apple products to resell!
