Worrisome language that the Barclays Aviator Red is not churnable.

Read the comments in the thread.

Some Barclays language from one of the comments on DoC:

You may not be eligible for this offer if you currently have or previously had an account with us in this Program. In addition, you may not be eligible for this offer if, at any time during our relationship with you as the issuer of an account in this Program, we have cause, as determined by us in our sole discretion, to suspect that the account is being obtained or will be used for abusive or gaming activity (such as, but not limited to, obtaining or using the account to maximize rewards earned in a manner that is not consistent with typical consumer activity and/or multiple credit card account applications/openings.

None of this surprises me. Barclays is tough and I fully expected them to go once per lifetime eventually.

@Alexle2007 - I'd just reorder the same items in a second order after clicking through Ebates, and return the first order.

Returning the first order would (likely) trigger a clawback of the $50 Saks credit, but you shouldn't have a problem ultimately getting the credit if there's another qualifying order to reimburse.
Thanks! You just addressed my concern. The $50 credit was better than a few hundred MRs. Off to see if Saks still has them.

well tried to use the staples visa by giftcardmall/metabank well plastiq doesn't accept it.. plastiq gives an error and I called giftcardmall and they said the merchant doesn't accept it. glad I didn't get too much today. These have worked in the past

ETA I just tried using an old card from Nov that I haven't used and that didn't work either now and those worked before. I did register the cards as soon as I got them so they match up to my address

End of June/beginning of July. 10 day trip. We fly out on a Sunday and return on Tuesday of the next week. We are doing Disneyland mid week, Wednesday and Thursday to avoid crowds. I have the Platinum and DH and DD are my authorized users so we all have access. Plan to arrive in LV mid day. Looking at Flix bus or Megabus. San Diego we will be enjoying the Hotel Del and the Zoo. San Francisco is Muir Woods and Yosemite. And Vegas we plan to attend comic con.
Looking at AA and Alaska if my miles don’t cover everything. Yes Bart and uber in SF.

Hm.

Muir Woods now requires reservations. I believe you can make them 90 days in advance. https://www.nps.gov/muwo/planyourvisit/reservations.htm

Do you plan to do Yosemite within those 3 nights allocated for SF? How do you plan to get to Yosemite (and back)? SF to Yosemite (and back) is about 4-5 hours each way. If you set aside a day, say leave the city for Yosemite before sunrise/rush hour (you'd be driving contra-flow anyway), you can get to Yosemite Valley by the late morning, but then you'd really only have enough time for some of the sights and trails around the Valley floor, before you have to time your trip back to SF. From the Altamont Pass up the 580 on the East Bay, you're looking at commuter traffic between 3-8 p.m.

AFAIK, VGCs have never worked on Plastiq.

Yeah looks like Citi is the only way to get tons of AA miles.

There are tons of day tours to Yosemite from SF. I don’t drive in unfamiliar places. The tours are 14 hours long but transportation is taken care of which I like. I plan to book a tour.

Ok, that takes a lot of the stress off. I stopped doing day trips to Yosemite because driving 4 hours there and 5 hours back takes way too much out of me.

Interesting. When we went in 2012, it felt like we had the place to ourselves.

The crowds and the cars have gotten really bad over the last few years. We haven't been back since they implemented the new reservation policy, but I suppose it was needed and should help.

I didn't know this. Sadly I have never made it to Muir Woods, and I grew up here. I'll go slink back to the shun corner now. I do get to the city sometimes but I'm no expert on what to do there.

I had no idea there were day tours to Yosemite.

Thanks for your help. Looking forward to seeing half dome and El Capitan (from a distance) Lol.

Top 12 #BOSS

I’m in the Top 50?! Nice! This calls for a celebration right- it’s basically 5pm... :drinking1
Well if you want some more fun details:

You're 49th in the "positive score only" category. However if we go with the "raw" score (which includes downvotes) you move up to 45th (which means some of the people above you probably get downvoted more than you).

I'm at 10th in "positive" and 11th in "raw". What I find pretty cool about my stat is that I garnered 2,000+ karma on just 261 comments @ 7.9 karma per comment. (You are at a 4.8 per comment which is pretty darn good!)

Of course our friend Andy is in 3rd in both categories and also has an impressive 7.6 karma per comment (vs. the top 2 who are at 2.2 and 3.0 respectively.

I'd challenge people familiar with r/churning to guess who is on top of the karma pile...it may surprise you...It used to always be OJ but he's slid down to 4th now...

Hmmmm...what about using FEIN on #2. That a work around? I think i did the first one with just his name and social. Could do #2 with his corp name and FEIN if that would work. If that is a work around, would points still combine from his current acct?
I'm truthfully not sure that this will make you any more likely to get the bonus the 2nd time around with just a public offer. It seems like most people are getting the bonus the 2nd time but there are a few who are not and that's very frustrating. Did you see our discussion yesterday about using a refundable charges to test the waters??

Points me to the miles?

Those that fly AA..worth it to upgrade to Main Cabin Extra for extra legroom? We have the option for our Philly-LAX flight Thursday but not sure if its worth it for $81/seat. I have never flown more than 3 hours and this flight is 5 1/2. Looks to come with drinks and better boarding. It would be an exit row with just DW and I. Thoughts?

Time to have DH apply for Hilton Biz since the next tuition payment is coming soon. Is better to go through my Biz Gold for the 20k MRs, through my Hilton Biz or a dummy booking for the $100 credit? Thoughts?
I was just wondering this for myself and DH, although in my case it's only 20,000 Hilton Honors points for the referral. So I was thinking of doing the dummy booking for the $100 credit. But MRs make it a tougher call. My churning philosophy leans more toward "free" so I still might go with the dummy booking. I guess you could ask yourself if you would buy 20k MRs for $95, since that is essentially what you would be doing.
