The Villas at Disney's Grand Californian Owners & Lovers Group - 3.0

I was expecting a significant increase because of the shoddy refurbishment. Seemed like they needed to come up with more money to fix things like green shower heads and sticky furniture.
Hire somebody that knows how to finish furniture maybe. So crazy. Can you imagine getting hired by Disney and doing that type of work. How embarrassing.

I submitted my feedback today via the QR code posted at the elevators. Got an almost immediate call from a manager. He acted like the sticky dresser situation was a one-off due to inadequate cleaning, and made no mention of feedback about it and the shower heads. I made it clear to him that I have heard similar feedback from others so this was not isolated. And the dresser showed no signs of spills since it was sticky over the entire surface.

I also mentioned the missing recycle bin in the room, which I had called about earlier this week. They said they would provide a bin to me, but none ever showed up. Am I imaging things? Didn't the rooms have bins before? For a company that talks about Environmentality I expected more. Even though I separated the recyclables into a separate bag I didn't feel confident they wouldn't be combined with the rest of the trash.

Editing to add my room number for reference: 2514 - 1BR

There was no recycle bin in my room either. We also called for something and never got it, after an hour of waiting at 12 am we gave up. It was the in room dining order form.

I sent an email saying one of the highest dues increase after the “refurb” we got compared to FL was insulting.
I got a call from a lead at MS. She said they already have a meeting scheduled to discuss the refurb at Grand Cal and my email was taken very seriously and they heard what I said. She said they have a steady stream of vendors in FL and worked with partners in CA and it seems things were not done up to standard. I mentioned the showerheads, stained outdoor tables, sticky furniture, no changes in the bathroom and poor lighting and that my stay was just a few weeks after completion. I did tell her the floors and the Murphy beds are nice and that replacing furniture just to replace it wasn’t necessary but it’s hard to see what happens in FL compared to what we got in our delayed hard goods refurb. She really listened and I felt heard. Now will anything happen, who knows. But interesting that there’s a “meeting” already on the books.
