I like Sam Heughan (Jamie) too. I think he has done a great job with what little script and character development they have given him. I have major issues with much of the show. The books are so much better and the show changes things that have no need to be changed. I try to keep the rage down to a minimum and just enjoy the fact that it is being adapted for tv.
This is how I feel about the show too. I try to enjoy it for what it is. The books are so big and detailed I'm sure it's impossible to do it "right". But they don't completely fail. The show and the books complement each other nicely, but the books are really the best.

Either 1) save it and use it toward my mom's Christmas gift (siblings and I usually go in on a David Yurman piece), 2) buy another gift card and use it for some rose gold huggies at Off Fifth (I have no decent jewelry since almost everything I had was from my ex), or 3) use it for a Christopher Radko Christmas ornament for myself.

What are rose gold huggies? Hoping it was autocorrect.

Ready to pull the trigger on DH's Citi AA Biz #2. I see a public offer of 60k for $3k spend. Offer on dummy booking is 40k/$200 credit (which is what he had the first time, never could get a match). Anyone see anything better. I know I've heard of 70 and 75k offers. TIA :)

@SouthFayetteFan posted this list a few pages back. Good luck!

Current list of AA Business CC Offers:

There are 4 Citi AA Business offers that I know of right now:
Barclays also has one:
I can no longer find a Citi link with the $250 Stmt Credit (RIP the add'l $50)... I also can't find a Citi 75k / $5k link right now. Am I missing any links that anybody is aware of?

FYI: 75k / $5k is still available via Citi Mailer if you can get you hands on one of those.

Also worth noting that there are still VERY mixed DPs on using a public offer for Citi Biz # 2 and beyond. You might get your points...you might not...

Just figured I'd share this info here since I was updating some information while answering a PM.

Lol--just small hoop earrings! They don't have a post sticking out so you can sleep with them in. I'm super lazy about taking jewelry on and off.

Odd name for them 😀 I leave my studs in. Too lazy and don't care enough to change them.

I guess they hug your earlobe??? I lost my studs--they were from my ex but I was going to have them re-set:( But I swear I feel like I'm being stabbed when the post sticks out (I'm probably being a bit dramatic).

Those are my obsession and happy place. I have spent waaaaayyyyyy too much money on them but it's really cool to be able to decorate my whole tree in Radko!
I have a ton and they make me so happy--thankfully most were given to me as gifts by my mom. But two of my favorites we actually got at WDW probably a dozen years ago. One is Cinderella's Castle and the other is Mickey. And then my mom got me a Bichon one year. We lost our Bichon two years ago so it reminds me of her.

That sounds great! I don’t have ANY Marriott points so I booked Hyatt. Plus Hyatt has been so good to me with unexpected upgrades and surprises. Hoping they upgrade us to a two queen room as only the king and sofa bed are bookable on points!

I have a pretty ambitious itinerary that I’d like to run by you before I book our flights in three weeks. We are flying into San Diego, Amtrak to Anaheim, bus to Vegas then flying Vegas to San Francisco. Finally flying home to Philly. Points will make the flights free.

Thoughts on my plan? Two nights in each town except three nights in San Francisco.
Did you mean to tag @Lain here?

Thanks and I'm sorry, I've been horrible at keeping up lately. What's this about maybe not getting the bonus on the second go round. I was thinking that was the point of the graavy train, lol. Is this something new? I did re-read the graavy train post on reddit the other day and didn't see any updates (I'll check again).

Annual fee for the legacy Hyatt Card posted today. Paid the $75 fee and immediately used my free night cert to book the Hyatt House in Anaheim near Disneyland. Rates are currently an eye watering $810 a night. I know they will eventually come down but wow..insane value for the $75 fee.:flower1::flower1::flower1::flower1::flower1:

I booked my Hyatt free night ($75 annual fee) also today. I booked a Sunday night in OC, Md to add to my 2 points nights, making a 3 night stay at the Hyatt Place. The first 2 (weekend) points nights totaled $992 and the 3rd night was $327 for the cheapest cash rate/view. Didn't do as well as @Ngwira but I'm still happy.

I then extended my stay with a room at Holiday Inn and Suites using my $49 free (final unrestricted) night. Cash price for cheapest room $523.

Both of these hotels are oceanfront on the Boardwalk and are pricey in summer from May until September, but the colder it gets the cheaper they get. January prices are around $100 a night.

Normally I will do just three nights in summer, maybe twice, but always with points or free nights. But a group friends of mine will be there and we are all getting together for a few days, so should be a bit of fun.

I was tempted to try the Marriott Suites in Bethany also, but 5 nights is more sun and sand then I really want in one trip. Maybe I'll try a short visit there in August or September, or do cash nights once the rates drop.

If you aren’t using mailers for your second and subsequent AA cards you risk not getting the bonus. It’s a loophole and YMMV - the safe play is securing a mailer code.
Hmmmm...what about using FEIN on #2. That a work around? I think i did the first one with just his name and social. Could do #2 with his corp name and FEIN if that would work. If that is a work around, would points still combine from his current acct?

So when you book through the AMEX travel portal but pay cash for a hotel, is it still considered a third party booking?

chase offers has starbucks at 5%

You can’t get shingles if you’ve never had the chicken pox. It’s a dormant virus. A person with shingles can in very rare cases give that person chicken pox though

All 3 CIPS are open
Me:
CIP1 9/18 (will close in sept)
CIP2 4/1/19 (open)
CIP3 7/1/19

DH
CIP 1 11/18 (open)
CIP2 4/1/19
CIP 3 7/1/19

I did wait the 90 day between the last 2 apps
I'm so jealous! I want more CIP happiness!

my neighbor growing up got shingles and she wasn't even 2. never had chicken pox. I had asked my MD about shingles as I had had patients with it and wanted to know the chance of getting it while pregnant. I was just told to avoid being around anyone with open sores. I didn't get the vaccine since I got chicken pox before kindergarten thanks to daycare. I dont wish shingles on anyone as watching friends and family have them its painful.

You know what’s pretty crazy. I did a little karma research this afternoon for a comment I wrote and while I’ve greatly pulled back on my volume of comments there I’m still in the top 12 of all karma!

Fun side note, @gottalovepluto is also in the top 50!
Top 12 #BOSS

I’m in the Top 50?! Nice! This calls for a celebration right- it’s basically 5pm... :drinking1

Sitting in the Polaris Lounge at IAH—it’s so quiet and peaceful!
Of course I didn’t sleep on the 10+hr MUC-IAH flight but the jammies are awesome (thankfully I received the older style). When I get home I’ll post my thoughts on different aspects of our 2 week trip but I was very impressed with the United biz class and very disappointed with AA’s.

Home in 5 hours, hooray!
