Also, I can't find it now but there have been mentions of something similar to a credit card "matcher" or something... I'm sorry I can't remember exactly what it is. Can someone tell me what this is or post a link if it's a website?

Thank you!

I think you’re referring to the card match tool. You enter in basic info and it will list any prequalified offers you’ve been targeted for. This is where most find the elusive 100K Amex Platinum offer.

Unfortunately there is no consensus. Some people have been fine and others have not gotten their points. The r/churning history is a small problem I guess - you could tell the mod there that I recommended you check it out but I’m not sure if that would get you approved or not.
It got me approved by the way, lol. So, thanks!
😉
The Citi biz mailers are going quick, and are now selling for $65-$75. Yikes!

Alternatively, instead of the $200 offer, you can use the $300 offer for the same checking account from the $600 combined offer and just open the checking account. That offer code gives 3 options when opening, just a checking, just a savings, or checking+savings for the big bucks.

That's what I'd do If I didn't have 10 or 15k available to do the savings offers with them and I could avoid the monthly fees without too much extra effort. It's all the same perks minus the CC only features like 0% financing and earning Disney rewards dollars. I think the extra $100 would probably make up for that.

Good point! And, @hrslvr142, it looks like Chase has two separate bank bonus offers for the checking account. The first one I linked came up from googling "Chase checking bonus" and the better offer is found by clicking thru the link on the DoC article.

Amex offer question. What happens if you redeem an offer, but then return the item that got you money back? Will Amex just adjust the return amount minus the offer money back?

Not trying to game the system or upset Amex. I just saw these new Mickey Ray-Bans and I have a shopping problem and want them. 😂 I have a $30 off $150 Sunglass Hut offer and figure I would buy them once they're online in the event they sell out. I am ALSO going to the park at the end of the month and figure if I can get them 20% off with my AP and use discounted gift cards it would be a better deal and I would want to return the original pair to Sunglass Hut. I am torn 😥

You reminded me that I've been meaning to search through both threads to try to find the answer to this. We've been using the Lowe's 10% offer on Biz cards for :gasp: actual things at Lowe's (I know, I'm losing more churning cred by the minute...) so that means we've had returns as we go. I keep expecting our credits to be adjusted for net but so far it just keeps taking off 10% of the new purchase and ignoring returns. Now I can't remember if these cumulative offers worked different than the fixed ones, ie Spend $150 get $30 and, in either case, what was the ultimate result.

I haven't actually returned anything I used a fixed offer for so I have no experience there. I got lucky with the damaged wine cooler we bought from Sam's Club that the "3rd time's a charm" replacement they sent actually worked so I didn't have to return it in the end. But I thought with those offers if a return drops you under the threshold they take it back eventually. Otherwise I could see that being abused and we'd have caught wind of that by now

I had this issue the other day on DH's account. I was finally able to pull the higher offer on the Platinum Biz, but I had to play around a bit. There was a banner somewhere in DH's Delta Gold Biz Amex account that offered 12,500 miles for a referral. I clicked through that to bring up the higher offers.

However, just now I couldn't find it again. But by playing around in his account (clicking on refer, etc), an email was generated to him offering the 12,500 referral. When I click through that email, I generate a referral link that brings up the higher offers. For the Delta Gold Biz, I'm seeing a 70k bonus with $4k MSR and a $50 statement credit + waived annual fee + 0% for 6 months.

Good luck!

Thanks -- 70,000 is even better than the new public offer. Good to know it's possible to pull it up with referral link.

So after some very little research on Reddit I decided to bite the bullet and apply for my Citi Biz #2. My first card was the through a doc link with a higher spend higher point deal back in March - I think 3k for 50k miles and with another $15k spend an additional 15k miles. One theory was that using a different link might be ok. I used the next app a link for the 40K, $250 statement. I didn’t do a dummy booking as I got confused last time picking the business app. My app went pending yesterday and approved this am. What the best way once the card comes to determine if I’ll get the miles? Just spend $2k quickly? Or do a small AA giftcard and wait for that to post?
For me the statement credit and 40k miles only posted after the first statement closed

Thanks! Thats what I thought, people would be buying and returning like crazy! I remember reading people did it with the Saks credit and then Amex clawed it back. I am fine if Amex does take it because I am not entitled to it if I do end up buying and returning, I think I am just paranoid of the RAT coming after me. :scared:

Tagging you two because I know you could help with this, but I’m grateful for help from anybody on this!

I’m having some trouble with my Serve card. Some of it is of my own doing. When my card came in the mail, it gave me a routing number and account number for direct deposit. Since it’s a prepaid card, I thought I was supposed to use those numbers as my bank account to pay, for example, my SW Priority Visa. I tried it twice and both times it didn’t work. In the meantime, I got hit with the monthly fee. I’m hesitant to try again because I’m guessing this is probably going to cause my credit score to take a hit! If I can get confirmation though, I’ll try again...it has to be through the “bill pay” function on my Serve acct, right? And I could pay Chase that way? Would it work for a credit union HELOC? I’m really close to giving up on Serve. If this should be taken to dischurners or PM, I’m fine with that, just wanted to post here first.

The routing number and account number are only for direct deposit INTO your Serve account. You have to use Billpay from your Serve account to pay other companies. I used it to pay Amex, Citi, Synchrony, and others (but not Chase, although I've read other people have). But I have no experience with paying a HELOC with it.

All that said, my Serve got shutdown on 5/21. I suspect it was because I linked a personal bank account to it, and transferred money out of Serve into the bank account (but I got my $100 bank bonus from it counting as a direct deposit! score!).

For this I wouldn't worry about the RAT. Unless it's something that becomes a habit, so they'd see a pattern or it'd trigger them to look for a pattern, then it's just normal course of doing business. If you return something a couple times a year, that just sounds like everyday folk to me :)

In my experience, they have never taken back a credit for a purchase. Over the years I have returned a few things, fully expecting the credit to be taken back (and rightfully so), but they never have.

Amex will claw back the credit usually by adding a +$xx.xx adjustment. The Amex Offer should still be available to use again as long as the original expiration date hasn’t passed.

I think the suggestion was to make a small AA GC purchase. If it credits, the SUB should be attached; if not, don’t waste your spend.

The only real downside here of course is it will take until statement close to see if the credit posts. But then again, you won't get your miles until statement close either, so waiting for the first statement for credit effectively means you are at least 2 statements away from the bonus.

If spending $2k in a month is relatively easy, I'd probably do that. But if you're working MSR on other cards, I think the suggestion for a small AA GC and wait it out is better.

I followed in your footsteps and just applied and was approved for Citi Biz#2 on the 40K $250 statement offer. I didn't want to spend $75 on a mailer or fight for one on reddit. I'm too cheap, haha. We can be some more DP's for our Dis friends. Good luck!

I'm also having this dilemma. Approaching my 95 days since the last biz card and I'm just not going to buy a mailer, but the scattered DPs of the public offer are concerning.

Thank you! Glad you got your bank bonus at least. I have around $1k in VGC to liquidate, which I can do without Serve, but it would be nice to be able to use it if I can just figure out a system that works for me. It’s so YMMV it seems, that you pretty much have to figure it out through trial and error. I could really ramp up my VGC volume if I can just get it figured out. I’ll try one more time using bill pay, and if it doesn’t go through right, I’m out.

What if you just transfer the money into your regular checking out? That’s what I do and then pay my bills from there. Don’t get discouraged!

I’m also thinking through long term plans today. I’m at 3/24 until Oct 2020. P2 is 2/24 until Aug 2020. As long as the CIP continues to be an option, I’ll only be getting 1 more personal card. In the fall probably. Aspire or Amex Plat if I can get a good offer. Assuming no pop ups. I only have the BCP and HHBiz from Amex right now, and I’m trying to keep spending on them between MSR’s. BCP is easy because P2 and all 3 kids are AU’s. The HHBiz is a little trickier.

Speaking of Amex, maybe someone can tell me, what is the allure of the BBP? It doesn’t look like there’s a SUB? Is it just for a place to park your MR’s?
