This is an interesting idea. The reps I spoke with didn't seem to understand dining plans, but an aa vacations rep probably has more access and more experience. I sent an email to AA Vacations using the link on their website because I think we would all prefer email over a phone call. If the email doesn't work, I'll try calling tomorrow.

We have always just done individual loans. It should only negatively affect your score for a bit but I wouldn't think it should otherwise affect card approvals. When I added my HE Loan last year I don't recall it affecting me much. That said, if it's feasible I'd probably continue to do one name. No sense in having more liability than you need toIf I had not been following the thread before we really started with getting cards I would have asked the same question. Just would have assumed since I have a card/he has a card we jointly have the cards.
This actually brings me to a question. We will be getting a car soon, and unfortunately we are not mr moneybags like some peopleso we will have to get a loan. We have always just put both our names on loans. Now I am wondering if just one of us should get it in case it does negatively affect getting more cards in the near future. Anyone?
IIRC you can still usually put the car in both names, if you're interested. (Personally I don't care, my next car is going to be a hand me down and I don't plan to even transfer it out of his name. )

I think I will do CIP and Barclay's AA Biz in the meantime then.I would want to play this safe, I think a failed AA application due to trying too soon could reset your whole 90 day clock (yikes!). I'm not an expert on that to be honest. It's probably safe to assume you called the week of 2/5, so maybe round it up to Friday 2/8? 95 days from then would be 5/14/19. My wife's next AA Biz card is scheduled for 5/26/19 so send me a PM when that rolls around and I'll see if I can help you find a mailer in any way. Of course we can also all watch this whole "no need for a mailer" DP on r/churning to see how that plays out!

Yeah - And right now I'm looking at this saying, I can essentially Venmo (or Plastiq) my way to the dining plan for a very minimal cost. Makes sense. We can definitely split up now and DD loves being able to go to the lounge even if we don't want to, but she didn't do that when she was younger. And yes, if you are in the parks all day, or choose the DDP, I can't see how it could be worth it. When we were young and spend all day in the parks, from opening to close, we didn't even stay on property at DL - it just wasn't worth the money just for a place to sleep. Now that we spend more time at the resort it matters more where we stay and what it comes with.

I don't frequent many threads on the DIS but I've always noticed that when I post (what I feel is) SUPER helpful info on the SW stickied thread that people are so stingy with the likes. There has to be a ton of people looking at that thread... It's crazy, at times, I literally am your google, you couldn't find the next SW release...I mean c'mon are you that lazy. And I (with no snark) provide you information, and it doesn't even receive 1 like...not even from the person who couldn't use GOOGLE!
So I looked at a page of THAT thread tonight...and an entire page (20 comments) had 7 likes TOTAL. No comment had more than one like. Meanwhile, page 761 here from just a couple hours ago here has like 70+ likes already with one of @wendow's comments having 15+ likes. Most of the regulars on our thread have more likes than comments - some by a huge margin!
I know we often comment on how the culture on OUR thread is different from the rest of the DIS - but maybe it starts with something as simple as likes. Knowing that people valued your contribution, that they liked what you had to say, that they appreciated you taking the time answer a question (even if it wasn't yours). I'll like things even if I disagree with them here, because what makes the thread great are people willing to contribute and give out advice. Maybe if people just liked comments more on these other threads they wouldn't turn into flaming heaps of dung so often, lol!
So I'm just rambling about "fake internet points" but there's a lot of reasons why this is the BEST corner of the DIS and maybe likes is the foundation of it all
