Has anyone tried the $45 Sams club membership, get $45 by shopping online? There are a couple of DPs on DOC that it works, but thought maybe someone here has tried it. I do not have a Sams Club anywhere near me so I would order once online to use the credit and then use the membership for giftcards.

I'm late, but Yep! I ordered online and did in-store pickup. There's nothing in the terms that say you have to use the credit in a specific way (even though that's kinda how they promoted it) and I found it easier to see if the credit applied by doing the online order. It's supposed to work in-store too but I didn't want to waste the time shopping only to find out it didn't apply at the register or something. If you have eligible items in your cart online, once you hit the threshold it just takes 45 off the total. Just make sure you don't have any other "instant savings" offers in your cart. Even if you're over the threshold without them it kinda screws up the system and it won't show up - at least I think that was the problem I was having, that's how I eventually got it to show.

For anyone wondering, the $45 credit wouldn't apply to a GC (exclusion enforced :() Also, I didn't have any option to pay for my order online, I only had a "pay in store" button. I assume this was a glitch but I only had $1.76 for a balance so I paid with a Sam's GC anyway when I picked it up.

I'm so jealous every time someone brings up the AT&T offer lol. Don't have it any of our 3 cards. I keep checking like maybe it'll magically show up lol. Did get two Sam's Club offers though.
I am doing the same things at least twice a day hoping it will magically appear in 1 of our cards!pixiedust:

Dang, I only saw it in my app for the first time today. I haven't paid with a linked card in quite awhile

Its so strange . . . I used to be able to pull up Visa Locals offers, but Sam's was never there for me. However, I got the 5% anyway. Then a couple months back, I stopped getting the credits. Same with DH. But a friend of mine still gets the 5%. I don't get it. Oh well.

FYI: All CHASE Marriott Premier Support links are dead...
Head to the Chase RAF site and generate a new link for the Bonvoy Boundless...BONVOY!! (sorry, I couldn't resist)...

This support offer is really only good for somebody who is sure they can max out the 3 free 35k pt nights OR somebody who really prefers the
$3k MSR. Most people would rather look to the 100k offer for $5k MSR...

If you have a Marriott support link, please either update or delete at your earliest convenience :)

Quick question. My dh and I both work and when I apply for a cc (not including him as a AU), when they ask for household income, can I give our total income for both of us but do I have to put my income only? Thanks

Tagging the following people who chimed in about my queries yesterday. @palhockeymomof2 @wendow @disneymagicgirl @gottalovepluto @wanderlust7 @SouthFayetteFan @CaT_DisLife @Lain

So I looked further into it and CIC is not showing up on P2's Credit Report. Credit utilization was a little high on her CSR last month and she is an AU on my Freedom which is really the only card she keeps in her wallet (she doesn't really want to play the game but I'm grateful she lets me lol). At some point we will pay off our balances early to limit any affect on our scores but that just doesn't fit our lifestyle right now. Hoping to see her score bounce up next month but she is still over 800 so we aren't in bad shape by any means. If it goes down again I'll be concerned.

As far as the next card for me: I went to dischurners to read up on the MDD and the grAAvy train but think the thing I am most comfortable with is going for a second CIP with a referral from P2. A few questions:

1. I can keep my current CIP open for now right? I think Lain said I could PC it to a CIU later if I wanted to which I may do.
2. What level do I need to keep my business CLs under? Is it 50% of my household income or business income?
3. My current CIP is using my middle initial so I would just do another app not using the initial (if it even matters).

Household income is fine :) It's the only way my stay at home wife would get cards :D

Arguing with chef Michael Symon and others on twitter that a hot dog isn't a sandwich. Such an evening. Though I googled :) and found out that the American Meat Institute has a Hot Dog and Sausage Council and have declared that hot dogs aren't sandwiches so I feel like I have "science or something" on my side :) Not that he'll ever change his mind.

@kandb - is there a reason you are blocked from PMs on the DIS? I was going to send you an invite to our DISchurners group but can't do so, lol.

I’ve lowered my CL across both business and personal to around 30% of household income before new applications

:rotfl: Love this. It reminds me of the XKCD cartoon with the person staying up late because someone on the internet is WRONG! Have fun! :)

Someone is also quite sure that Goofy is a cow due to a family discussion and looking it up. Not sure what they googled cause it's clear by doing so that he's a dog. That was the 3rd part of his question, with the other about whether chili is a stew, soup or sauce, but really I think it's just chili. Anyway, Goofy as a cow is just ridic and worse than someone saying a hot dog is a sandwich.

Hi All -
I've been lurking since May 2018 and have learned a lot from you all - thank you! I am in need of some direction for upcoming cards. Here our our stats -
P1 -
04/18 CSP
12/18 Chase Freedom
01/19 SW Personal

P2-
04/18 CSP (added as authorized user before I realized I should not have, if i remove does the 24 month rule apply for P2 to get own card in future?)
06/18 CIP
09/18 Chase Freedom Unlimited
01/19 SW Priority

Spend about $4000/mo on cards-We don't eat out often and most of our grocery budget goes to Costco.
Payoff CC in full each month
SW preferred airline and they service main airport
No hotel rewards program preference
Currently have about 260,000 UR all pooled into CIP account
Churning goals - Hawaii 2nd half of 2020
Travel party - 2 adults and 2 children (16 and 11)

P1 just applied for CIP and got the "under review" message. Looking for recommendations for cards going forward for P1 and P2.
