Just starting to think about the biz card game. Did not realize that Chase biz cards were subject to 5/24 as well. Also didn't realize how close I was to being under 5/24. Now, do I wait the two months to be under 5/24 for the CIU or apply for a biz card elsewhere?

You could do both....apply for a Amex business now and a Chase in two months
just make sure whatever business card you apply for will not count towards 5/24...Amex, citi and I’m sure there are others don’t...just double check here prior to applying

Been pending on the Barclays AA Pers for 5 days . Was approved for the Biz -- wondering how long they usually sit pending. :confused3 Status checker says:

Pending Barclays apps can take up to the full 10 business days. You're better off just leaving it alone. It should hopefully be approved automatically soon, or a rep will call you if some kind of verification is needed.

I'm saving AMEX for a Delta Gold this summer. I only need one business card, it's a very small and not profitable side job. But it did allow me to pretend to be a WDW Cast Member for a week.

I’m convinced my kids are in cahoots. My 14 year old has been extremely difficult for the last week. Today he’s been great. So my 15 year old who is usually super easy has a meltdown over my suggestion we try a royal Caribbean cruise instead of Disney. I give up!

Oh good grief. Tell you're going camping instead of any cruise lol.

Sorry to drag the weather up again but this is just stupid! We started March with over 6 more inches on Friday (47 inches in 29 days) and now it’s -16. Enough Mother Nature, we give!

It's going to snow here again today too. Of course I have to work today for a special event. So my weekend is shot and it's going to be miserable cold. I'm so ready for Spring.

Read about the WF $1k offer on DoC. Was tempted, but it seems extremely YMMV. Would have to call around for a Business Specialist that has a code and seems each branch only has 5. I hate calling, so didn't actually try it.

I would think it's taxable. But there's talk on r/churning that bank bonuses with debit card transaction requirements count as rebates and aren't taxable. What do people here think??

I did call and the specialist had to call around for a code to use. Such a good return, I couldn't resist.

Do you think the rest of us have 10 businesses to go with all the business cards? Of course we only "need" one, but if they give them out, who are we to turn them down? :rotfl2:

My wife was recently approved for the AmEx Hilton Aspire card. We used it to reserve one of the Disney Springs Hilton hotels for one night prior to our stay in August (using AA miles). The hotel requires a one-night refundable deposit, which triggered the $250 annual resort credit. Does anyone know if AmEx will claw back that credit if we cancel the reservation? We will be piking up our daughters at the UCF campus that day, and we may decide to stay closer to campus that first night.

On a related note, has anyone used this tactic intentionally to receive the resort credit, or used it to receive cash back on the any of the AmEx hotel offers? I think it would be unwise to do it repeatedly, but I'm tempted to try it once, just to see what happens.

I have a Capitol One Venture credit card. It gives 2 points per dollar spent. I use it a lot and love this credit card. I get gift cards with my reward points. Today I got an email that says now it in order to get gift cards it costs more rewards points. Example- for a $10 gift card that usually used 10,000 points, now costs 12,500, which seems like a 25% increase in using rewards points. This really stinks. It was always 1:1. I wonder if a lot of the other credit cards are going to start doing this?

Unless the gift card processors greatly increase the cost of the GC's probably not. Discover still gives you an extra $5 (at least) if you cash out to a GC instead of taking the cash. There's got to be a reason for that as I doubt it's out of the kindness of their heart. AmEx changes the redemption value depending on the GC, most are at 1cpp but some more popular ones or ones that don't have as favorable discounts have always needed more points to redeem, I think they're usually like .7 - .8 cpp. (AmEx GC's themselves are terrible at .5 cpp, IRRC) It could be a change to the discount CapOne gets to some that they just increased it across the board to compensate, or they want to start to discourage this type of redemption. With the small increase I'm betting it's the former, if they wanted to discourage GC redemption they'd do like AA o_O

:guilty::cold: I forgot my thowaway blanket on my bed and realized it as I was getting on the freeway. I'm dressed to run not stand around in 30s. Thankfully the bathrooms are inside and I can stay there until they are about to close corrals. I'm so annoyed with myself since I am cold most of the time anyway it'll make the first bit of the run worse. At least the sun is out, hopefully the cold wind from yesterday is gone.

Parked near the hyatt place at seattle center, good location for tourist stuff with the monorail nearby. Has a walgreens across the street.
