Real talk: with the news that WDW is going to give 60 FP access AND EXTRA MAGIC HOURS to Bonnet Creek and Waldorf, does this increase the value of Hilton points for those seeking Disney travel? I won't lie, reading this news today made me consider putting my Hilton Amex back in my wallet as a normal spender. Free nights at either property would be a nice compliment to my DVC stays.

ETA - how do we adjust our valuations to consider this change? Obviously we probably care more than most when it comes to usage of Hilton points for Disney.

For me, I’d love to try the WA on points with 5th night free, but they only sleep 4 to a room. We generally have no issue smuggling in the toddler, but at a resort like that I am more wary of it.

--Just realized I have 50,000+ Hilton points that are about to expire. Any suggestions on what I should do with them? I hate the idea of .2 cents a point for an Amazon card or to VS for .15 cents (a paltry 7,500 miles), but can't think of what else to do with them. When we travel, we don't typically stay in hotels. I'm scrambling to use my 7-night Marriott certificate right now. I thought about using the points for a night out in SF, but not very good redemption options for 50k points.

--Do any of you shop at Etsy? I just noticed that they aren't on cashback monitor anymore for portal shopping. UGH!!!! Anyone know whether it's temporary? I have running costumes to buy, and I hate not getting points!

Do I need a new backpack? No.

Am I gonna get this one? I feel like I have to.

It’s more than half off. It’s on back order but idc. I normally don’t impulse buy but I feel like I really need this backpack lol
Their backpacks hold up really well. Even for my boys who are rough on everything, after throwing them in the wash they look like new...even 3 years later.
Go for it!

Thank you!! We are going through chase to get URs. We’d rather have that than United miles.

ETA: well we keep getting an error message. It keeps saying to check our billing and cc info which we’ve done like 10 times. We might try it on our computer later

You may have to log into your United MileagePlus account from a computer, View Account > Profile & preferences > Saved Form of Payment > View All Saved Forms of Payment and add your credit card and billing info there. You can even give "names" to your card for easier reference. Once it's in your MileagePlus account, you should see it saved as a payment option in the MPX app.

Can you transfer a minimum of 1,000 MR to Hilton? That should extend their expiration date.

No help with Etsy. I remember earning cashback there before. Sometimes merchants drop off and come back again to portals. Fingers crossed its temporary.

Think you can use it to shop at Amazon for as little as $0.01. :)

Do you sleep good at night normally? I have insomnia and don’t sleep much at night so about 1-2 a week, I finally get so tired, that I crash for 30 mins or so. Oddly enough, on the nights where I napped earlier in the day, I can actually sleep easier that night lol. I’m really messed up!
I’m a terrible sleeper. I often lay in bed for hours before falling asleep, or fall asleep then wake up and can’t get back to sleep. I feel like I’m always tired but if I try to nap it’s the same as at night, I just lay there awake.

Yes, but (at least in the past) the one you buy is not the same as the one you get while staying at their 3 premium hotels.

This may have changed, as we went several years ago after HP opened the first phase. We had unlimited rides on several attractions while people who paid for the pass only got one priority ride. Plus we got in early.
Actually there are both versions. $99 gets you unlimited EP, $79 gets you once on each ride.
But it kind of comparing apples to oranges since the original conversation was regarding EMH. Either way, both Universal and Disney are charging for “exclusive “ access and then making it less exclusive. Ugh.

Hi there! Not usually a poster on this thread but hoping you could give me some advice.

Last year you all helped me figure out the southwest visa. Huge thanks as I earned companion pass and am well on my way to earning it again!

Now I’m looking to find a card good for groceries. I currently use my SW visa for everything...... but I shop at Kroger and it appears they will stop accepting Visa soon. I see mention of an American Express card. But what kind. And how do I go about finding a good offer? Also, would the card give me rewards for Disney gift cards purchased at Kroger as well?

It's probably just verification. Did he use his name as the business name? And this was with SSN, not EIN?

It could also be verification of some sort. My parents have to do verification every single time they go for a Chase biz Card. Heck, my dad had to fax in docs for address verification for his card in July, and just had to do the same thing for his next chase biz card. The system is weird. Since your DH won’t call recon you’re waiting on that letter to tell you for sure but there could be hope!

Thanks y'all! I'm hoping it's something silly or easy to confirm. He did use his name/title plus SSN so don't know what exactly the question could be. I don't mind waiting for the mail since he's only home on weekends, although that may make calling in a challenge. I guess I could try to trust him with recon by himself...

Oh hey! I checked again and got this offer on my Biz Plat too. I’ll take some easy MRs! Thanks!

Paying personal AT&T phone lines should trigger this deal, and I don’t feel like putting very much more spend on my CIP after today.

ETA: Just paid ahead with a $175 payment on my personal AT&T iPhone line and got the Great news! You just used your Amex Offer email.

Follow-up DP: Made a $175 payment towards my personal AT&T line on Thursday, and 10,000 MRs posted today.

You have 30 days to recon, so you could just wait until a weekend when DH is home. Good luck!

We’re going through the chase portal. We tried our CSR account and it’s not working. It redirects us to pottery barn’s website and we enter all of our info in then get that error

American Express has a few good cards depending on whether you want to pay an AF or not.

Cash Back:
Blue Cash Everyday is 3% cash back on groceries, up to $6000 spend/annually
Blue Cash Preferred is 6% cash back on groceries, up to $6,000 spend/annually

If you collect Membership Rewards (MRs), there are at least 3 other options:

Everyday 2X MR up to $6,000 *then an additional 20% so 2.2 MRs if you make 20 purchases in a month
Everyday Preferred 3x MR up to $6,000 AF $95 *then an additional 50% so 4.5 MRs if you make 30 purchases in a month
Gold 4X MR up to $25000 AF $250

Yes, you can buy gift cards at Kroger and reap the benefits from the reward structure.

If you wanted to receive straight cash back you could have both the BCE/BCP and max out their limits for only $95. Someone who is good at math could tell you what the rate of return is on that (not me).

Remember, you can only have 5 Amex credit cards at any time, the gold is not a credit card but a charge card, and please see @SouthFayetteFan or @Lain to join dischurners if you haven't already and don't self support (ie, use someone's support link and have good karma unlike mine:laughing:).

Hope this helps and I covered your questions!

Thanks @tink1970 for mentioning DISchurners. @Jenny-momof3, I’d concur with the AMEX blue cards (either BCE or BCP). If you’d like to join DISchurners and use a support link please send me a PM and I can get you setup. If you already have any Amex cards, let us know which ones in case there’s a better way for you to apply.
