Hi there! Not usually a poster on this thread but hoping you could give me some advice.

Last year you all helped me figure out the southwest visa. Huge thanks as I earned companion pass and am well on my way to earning it again!

Now I’m looking to find a card good for groceries. I currently use my SW visa for everything...... but I shop at Kroger and it appears they will stop accepting Visa soon. I see mention of an American Express card. But what kind. And how do I go about finding a good offer? Also, would the card give me rewards for Disney gift cards purchased at Kroger as well?

So glad I rarely use visa at our Kroger chain. If Kroger stops accepting visa, this is gonna be impactful to lots people!

There are definitely better cards for groceries than the sw visa. The ones @tink1970 suggested are the ones I’d recommend as well. My personal fav is the Amex blue cash everyday. It has no annual fee and earns 3% back at the grocery store including any gift card purchases. If you spend more than $3200 a year on groceries, the preferred version of that card might be a better option since it earns 6% back up to $6k.

Probably already discussed but I just noticed this on my Amex portal - it was not there yesterday. This is because I have a plat:

Benefit Update: With The Hotel Collection, you now get a $100 hotel credit to spend on qualifying dining, spa, and resort activities, plus a room upgrade, when available, when you book The Hotel Collection with American Express Travel. Terms apply.

DH is already at 30 nights with Marriott -Bonvoyage- whatever its called. lol Looks like we may hit Platinum again this year, not that we have really seen any benefit from it, maybe one day. If anyone else got the promotion stay twice, get 10 extra nights - it is in 2 increments. So if you stay once you will get 5 extra nights. He stayed at 2 different Marriotts this week and only one has credited so far with 5 extra nights.

I'm behind by a few hours and someone probably responded. The Amex Gold card gives 4xMR's at Grocery stores and restaurants. It's annual fee is $250, but offset by a $100 airline credit - I bought a $100 SW gift card on the Southwest website. It also has a $10 a month credit for Cheesecake (Factory) or Shake Shack or Ruth Chris. I'm close to a CF so have no problem using this. I think you can also use the $10 credit on Grubhub. So that's $220 of the $250 back to you in another form. Then there is rental cars, premium roadside assistance 4 times a year, and many other benefits. I've definitely sold me on this card.

There are a couple of other amex that are also good for groceries. I'm pretty sure you would get the 4% on the Disney gift cards at Kroger.

I have Global Entry approval now but no card yet. Can I add it to my flights now or do I have to wait for the card? If I add now is it the membership #/PASSID listed in my account?

@Lain I ended up buying the backpack through the chase portal but with my CIP. For some reason it kept giving us an error on the PBK website when using dh’s CSR. It was still 2 pt/$1 so I’ll take it! I’m really happy about this backpack lol. It’s gonna be my “Japan” backpack
