I feel like I vaguely remember asking for a match back when I got the card with the one-time purchase offer. The rep wouldn’t do it, but she was almost downright rude on the phone just trying to find out for me if I’d been approved or not. Others may have better success.
I got the match back on the 1 time purchase offer. It was very weird though. I used the message feature but no one every responded to my messages. I really didn't want to call. Mysteriously I got an additional 10K miles on the next statement after I met MSR but no response ever.

We leave tommorow for Universal- cranky toddler woke up from nap with a fever. Pediatrician fit us in and she’s got an ear infection. Hooray. On antibiotics now because of the flight.

I was so distracted with the last minute pediatrician appointment and stop at cvs I forgot to check in for our southwest flight. Boo.

Seems like the flight must not be very full because 45 minutes late we got B 26-30.

Hoping they have family boarding and we can board them. But either way we’ll get seats together even if it’s pretty far back.

Hope your child is OK on the plane and doesn't suffer more pain from flying. Ear infections can be extremely painful. Poor baby.

The easiest and free way to dig up what credit cards you've opened in the past 24 months is to sign up for Credit Karma, then look at the card accounts listed and find those that have an opening date in the past 24 months. The number of cards (*) opened in the past 24 months will give you a */24 count. You need to be under 5/24 to be eligible for almost all of Chase's cards (and their bonuses), which is why most people will suggest focusing on getting the Chase cards first before opening cards with other issuers (with rare exceptions).

Do you have a business? You may have a business without even realizing it. Any side hustle that you do to earn some extra cash can be considered a business. Do you sell stuff on eBay, Amazon, Craigslist, or Facebook? Do contracting work? Make crafts or other goods to sell on Etsy or craft shows? Tutor? Baby sit or dog walk? Drive for Uber or Lyft? You probably have a business and qualify to apply for business cards.

The reason you'd apply for business credit cards is because many of them come with more lucrative signup bonuses. Most business credit cards also do not report to your personal credit reports, so that way they don't count against your */24 standing with Chase and keeps slots available for other personal cards; and because a business card isn't reported to your credit report, any charges you put on the card won't show up as a balance increase or affect your percentage of credit utilization, which should generally help increase your credit scores.

The Chase Ink Preferred ("CIP") card that @palhockeymomof2 mentioned has one of the most valuable signup bonuses at 80,000 UR points. It does carry a $95 annual fee, but the signup bonus is worth at least $800 in cash, or up to $1,200 towards travel if you combine those points onto Chase's Sapphire Reserve card ("CSR," which itself has a 50,000 UR signup bonus) or $1,000 towards travel if you pair it with a Chase Sapphire Preferred card ("CSP," which also has a 50,000 UR signup bonus). Chase has other business credit cards, i.e., the Chase Ink Cash ("CIC"), which also comes with a 50,000 UR signup bonus and earns 5x UR at office supply stores where you can buy gift cards (especially Disney Gift Cards); and the Chase Ink Unlimited, another 50,000 UR bonus card that continues to earn you 1.5x UR on every purchase.

But again, to be eligible for these cards, you need to be under 5/24. We can help you with the other details once we know more about you!

@Lain I just wanted to share my experience regarding business cards, credit reports and % of credit utilization. My score dropped 23 points in Experian and Equifax. I checked credit karma and also credit secure (I pay for credit monitoring). Both sites showed my credit utilization from CIU which was at 50% as I was trying to meet the spend to get the sign up bonus. My credit utilization across all my cc was only at 12%. My credit utilization from CIU was flagged in both credit karma and credit secure as to what caused the drop in my score. So it looks like business cards are being reported.

I do pay my cc balance in full by the due date.

That’s very strange. I’m signed up for Credit Karma (which I check regularly) and pay for credit monitoring with MyFICO (where I pull credit reports from the three bureaus every quarter), and none of my Chase or Amex business cards (or utilization on them) show up on any of my reports. It’s like they don’t exist except for any hard inquiries done during their application. My utilization is hovering around only 2% currently.

Yes, I hand write each on the date, with a rounded up balance due, along with pay dates. It really helps me to see a whole month at a time. A little check mark next to the payee means I’ve scheduled payment. And yes I still keep an old fashioned check register although I did recently convert to a spreadsheet. Gotta get with it and start an actual budget software :rolleyes1
I'm right there with you on the old fashioned check register. I actually made up my own in Excel and print it, yes, print. I keep a binder. The front for my register so I know my checking acct balance at any moment and the back for notebook paper, I write down my bills every month and sort between the two paychecks. Pen and paper. As tech-y as I am there is still a need for writing things down lol

I tried YNAB, but nope, it's not for me. I just can not go digital.

Same, no digital for me. I also tried YNAB. I'm paper and pencil and quite happy with that. Drives my dh crazy but it works for me. I keep everything in a notebook in my binder :) Paper calendar for me also lol...

My DH deals with our finances now because he insists he wants to bank online and handle the bills online, too. I just can't go there at this point.

Four GE apps completed, one more to do this weekend.

I'll let you in on a little secret, which I will confirm in a few days hopefully. For Navy Federal Credit Union members, your Flagship card gets you and all AUs free GE! That's a $49 AF card, no fee for AUs. They did finally reply to me to confirm. That was my oldest card, so I've had my older kids on it. I just product changed it from a GoRewards or something last month. I'll be adding my younger two in the next week, no age requirement.

For tonight i used CSR x2, IHG Premier and 1 Flagship. My other daughter will use Flagship this weekend and I'll be watching for both credits.

Can I just say something about how awesome you all are... :)

I love how this place embraces off-topic tangents and side track conversations. I love how people share personal stories (both happy and sad). I love how we can poke fun at each other and share memes and gifs (and even shun people all in good fun ;)) This place has become a community - when people post they aren't just random DIS members, I see your name or avatar and in a way I "know" you. Sometimes I venture away from our thread to other parts of the DIS and I don't realize that people don't want to form a community of friends. They just want answers or drama or something...and I try to be "me" and that backfires...badly sometimes.

This place is AMAZING, you guys are AWESOME, I don't just love credit cards, I love this thread and all my DISchurner friends :)

If this is an effort to increase your “Likes” count so that I’ll never catch up to you, it’s working.

So, I logged on tonight and saw I was 219 posts behind. Initially I thought “ I just can’t keep up.” Then I get to posts like this and I smile inside and out and think “ my friends”:love:

LOL. We’ve been trying to post everyday’s newsworthy items on the DISchurners news thread. These tend to be things that directly impact our hobby, e.g., new cards/bonuses, changes in benefits, data points, limited time deals and offers, changes to redemptions, hotel and flight options, etc. In between all that is the good stuff. ::yes::

Today is the day dh and I both hit 4/24! party:

I feel like the world is my oyster. Boundless possibilities lay before me.:sail: :rotfl2: This is probably our last Chase hurrah in a while too, as our next cards don't drop off until 10/19 for me and 3/20 for him. (We took a long break a couple of years ago to refinance our house)

THANK YOU!!! I might just have to pull the trigger on 2 Barclays Biz cards now :) Since we have some folks that recently applied on the 50k offer - does anybody know if Barclays will match to 60k??

Less than 30 days out from the change on the Arrival Plus and Barclays refused to match the better offer (10k more points and AF waived first year). Like with @DisneyMandC they were almost rude. That was despite the reports of them matching. I tried twice and then gave up. So worth a shot but don’t be too optimistic.

Speaking of increased offers any thoughts if Citi AA Biz will be increasing anytime soon? I doubt my ability for the SM to work for more points and I hate to apply for a sub par offer. Especially since a quick search shows 6 months ago it was 75k. I am not worried about spend since if I jump on the train it will be to use for my mortgage since the MasterCard.

Dh, who is 2/24, applied for the Barclay AA biz and got this message:

Thanks for your interest.
Your application is being reviewed.
Thanks for submitting an application for the AAdvantage® Aviator® Business Mastercard.

We're processing your application and need additional information from you. In order to make this process as seamless as possible, we'll try to contact you at any of the phone numbers you provided in your application.

If we're unable to talk to you directly, we'll send a letter requesting additional information.

Thank you very much for your attention. We look forward to speaking with you.

My dh, who has pretty much let me lead the cc stuff, is QUITE 'salty' about this lol. I think he is in disbelief that he wasn't auto approved
