Here are my thoughts. We currently have 235,000 UR and my plan is to use them towards a cruise in October. I do have a few questions regarding that. Based on the dates we can go it looks like
Royal Caribbean on Mariner of the Seas. Is it easier to book direct with Royal Caribbean or just call Chase Cruise and Tours and book with them? Looks like I need a $500 deposit. I'm thinking that I will upgrade my CSP to the CSR in June to get that increased 1.5 to pay off the balance, which looks like it will be due in August. I would still like to get the CIC for myself, and refer DH to the CSP. While I would like to do the modified double dip for him he is semi reluctant and I really don't want to do anything to mess that up. Should I back off of Chase for a while? Our travel next year will be National Parks, maybe Utah in March and Maine in July. We would either do hotels (Best Western) or a campground with cabins for Utah. We currently have enough points to fly Southwest for both trips, but I am not opposed to getting other currency so that when my time comes up to churn the SW cards I have points available. So if I back off from Chase for a bit I'm thinking my options are Arrival +(could use for booking Utah, which will be available to book in August), although I don't really like the $5000 MSR, as we've prepaid many monthly bills. I would prefer to keep that one for this summer when my daughter will most likely be getting braces. Or the business AA cards? I know most of the talk is booking Disney hotels, but would this also be a good option for booking other hotels? I am leaning toward AA, as we are not tied to any brand hotel, and then could also use for flights. Hope this makes sense, thanks for any advice!!
