My mind went to the musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat when I read your reply. And now the songs are stuck in my head... :rotfl2:
I have never seen that musical! I should check it out cause I love musicals! I edited my post this morning at like 4am when I wasn't sleeping and realized I said to do as Joshua did. Guess I was either tired or thinking of all the Trump news with the 'wall' lol! Joseph was the man :)

I used to want the same thing until friends of ours had twins & started looking like extras on TWD. The stories they've shared over the past 18 months... :scared:

We would like a small family but you get what you get & I just hope that if life gives us twins, they come first, so we can stop. :rotfl: I don't know what I would do if we ended up with 6 or 8 babies like on some of those reality shows.

I have several friends with twins and all I know is, God knew what I could handle. One baby at a time was plenty for me :)

It was bright and sunny here today. Blue skies, no clouds. But freezing cold. :cold:
No matter because I don’t like hot weather either. DH calls me Goldilocks.
It was freezing here today! It was warm enough yesterday for most of the snow to melt on the roads and then last night it got to -20 and everything froze. I drove like 30 today on the highway because some spots were pure ice. I had two cars behind me but I didn’t care because I wasn’t going in the ditch again. It says we’re supposed to get ANOTHER 5-7 inches on Sunday.

Wow, I never knew Bonnet Creek had those fees. Were you at the hotel? We have stayed at Bonnet Creek probably 5-6 times. We have always rented from an owner and then you don't ever have to pay those fees. What I pay the owner is the only money I pay. For me, even after I have got into this game, I think we will just continue to pay OOP. Every time I have checked on the Chase portal they have been way too expensive. I don't go at peak times, and have paid as little as $525/week for a two bedroom, up to $1000 for this spring break since my dates were set in stone since my daughter went back to school.
This was the hotel. I booked it through a blind Hotwire booking. I'd like to book it through the Chase portal but maybe that isn't best. Just book through an owner and cash out UR's to cover. Who do you book through? I saw some different companies mentioned years ago but I've not looked at who people are using now.

Well, it is raining right now...actually it never stops. It rains and it is cold...forever. If it isn't raining it is gray. The sun hibernates all winter. Winter is cold and wet so I hibernate and summer is super hot and humid and there is no beach. I am landlocked. And my family is not here. And the school system makes me crazy.
Honestly I would hate that. Cold rain is my kryptonite. I need either a place with warm winters like FL or south TX OR I need to stay put in CO where we see beautiful sunshine 300+ days a year, even in the winter. CO actually has the bluest skies I've ever seen.

I have found 2 BR on Skyauction or Ebay. You can also got to the Timeshare Users Group (TUG2.org) go to the marketplace, timeshares for rent, scroll down to points and then look at the ads. There is an owner who lists over one million points. That wold be the owner I would choose to contact. There is also an "I love Bonnet Creek" thread on the Dis and people there have ideas and recommendations.

Found a possible use for some Marriott points - as many of you know, my wife is terrified of flying so I'm trying to book drive-able trips. I also am generally opposed to long drives...some would say we're a match made in heaven with 3million travel points and opposing transportation preferences . Since mine is a preference and her's is a bona-fide anxiety laden fear...I will concede (if I want to travel multiple times a year).

So I'm looking to visit my sister in Philadelphia this summer and then make a short trip over to Bethany Beach. There's a nice (and new) Residence Inn there right on the beach: https://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/rehri-bethany-beach-ocean-suites-residence-inn/

The cpp is insane...It's 50k Marriott points a night but you're getting 1.7cpp! This is where "valuing cpp" falls apart...there's NO way I'd pay $850 a night after taxes to stay at this place. (If you did the 5th night free you could get over 2cpp even)... At any rate, I digress...

The only issue is we have one 7-8 day span in August where this trip will work and we'd prefer to be in Philly over the weekend to see my Brother In Law who can't be off work on weekdays at that time. We'd prefer a partial oceanview room...and of course those are sold out on Thursday... ONLY Thursday. Gah!! It messes with the whole plan...so I could do 2 nights (instead of 3) after the Philly weekend, OR I could do 3 nights in advance but book a City View, OR I could visit Philly on weekdays and miss out on visiting as much with my Brother In Law. So I did what anybody with over a million Marriott points would do...I booked Wed-Sat City View, Sat-Tues Ocean View, Sun-Tues Ocean View...And now I can take my time deciding without worrying that even more nights will sell out. LOL!

That looks beautiful!! Good job booking so many options lol. I'd want ocean view too. Amazing view!

Unfortunately full ocean view isn't available with points :( But they do have "Partial Ocean View" which sounds like on a high floor you'd at least see the ocean - so that's what I'm shooting for. I'm also hoping that as a Platinum Elite member with Over a million points they'll upgrade a Hot Shot like me, lol!

That’s all very true. I could see how the third one would feel left out. If we have twins hopefully it’s the first kids we have because we don’t want more than two kids. Dh has triplets in his family! They have 8 kids in their family. It’s crazy

Well, our robot vacuum did not survive the move. Died nobly on the way back to its base after one last valiant cleaning attempt. Any suggestions for a replacement?

Yep. You never know what you're gonna get. My friends father had 3 girls but agreed to have one more (his wife really wanted 4) since he was kind of hoping to have a son. He got twin girls instead (my friend is one of them). :rotfl: When my friend learned she had a surprise #4 on the way her husband was totally freaked out they were going to have twins. (she didn't).

I seriously thought about booking a few more combos, LOL. I have enough points to book 10-12 different combinations. You can't stop stop me, you can only hope to contain me!!! :rotfl2:

LOL. I hope you get what you want in the end!

Ebates fail. DH was tired but tried to sign up for the MR rewards tonight. While doing it (he is certain he chose MRs) it redirected him and he's now signed up for cash back and they refuse to help him change it. Guess we won't be using it at all. He's pretty mad. :faint:

New Thread Stats:

Just a few interesting late night observations. :faint: We just crossed the 4 week mark on our new thread! In that time we've done the following:
  • 6,500+ Comments (over 220 per day)
  • 326 Pages (approx 11 per day)
  • At this rate we will surpass the number of comments/pages from the "1.0 thread" before the end of this year
  • This may support the idea of having an annual version of the thread...probably something to discuss in December (not now)
  • 133,000+ Views (I may or may not be like 50,000 of those views...I am obsessed, LOL)
  • The NEWS thread on DISchurners was created about a week after this thread.
  • We essentially are averaging 2 comments per day in the NEWS thread - so for somebody who can't read 200 comments a day...the News Thread essentially will show you the 2 most important comments
  • I guess that makes the news thread a 1%er
  • Obligatory NEWS thread link: https://www.reddit.com/r/DISchurners/comments/aj6vx6/news_discussion_thread/
:wave2: Thanks for being the most awesome group on the DIS! :grouphug:

Thats a great hotel! We stayed there in June a couple years ago. We had a partial view of the ocean from the second floor. Gotta say I missed being ocean front though.

Awesome - love a first person report! Was the partial view decent? Reports online seemed mixed.

We get all kinds of rain. Cold rain. Gray cold. Gray warm. Warm rain. You name it. Just no sun. :headache:

We stayed at Wyndham Bonnet Creek in December...booked with my CSR on URs...and didn’t have to pay a resort or parking fee..stayed 5 nights on a 2 br for aprox 87,000URs
