I wouldn’t let 2 DPs of Bank of America shutdowns affect my plan to apply for a Chase business card at all. First off, BoA is sort of crazy...

Don’t let fear of something that isn’t happening yet prevent you from scoring the best bonus out there.

What I would do in reaction to this news...avoid BoA...they suck, really bad, and I wouldn’t give them my business. Numerous people here have a lot of bad things to say about them

I definitely appreciate the encouragement. And I certainly will move forward in applying for this card.

And I won't tell my sister about how bad BoA is. She has their card and uses it a lot.

Basically, they don't allow you to carry forward a negative balance anymore because it violates the YNAB rules and it makes it so your budget doesn't actually reflect the reality that the money is missing. What I do with reimbursements is once the reimbursement comes in, I go back to the month in which I incurred the expense and add to the budget. It all seems to even out then.

Yep, my dh sets it...but yes, he sets it at 62 at night...day is 67, but since I wear capris and tee and I am constantly upp'ing it to 70 during the day. He isn't here so he doesn't know I've tried just putting on a sweatshirt or sweater but then I'm roasting and feeling claustrophobic.

We have Nest Thermostats...I have them set so you can't put the temperature above 66 in the winter or below 72 in the summer. I tell DW that she just needs to layer up a little more.

We've never turned our heat on in Naples! Granted, we've only had our place for 3 winters. We have seasonal renters and I keep an eye one the Nest thermostat. It's gotten down to 72 in there. I get nervous that they will want to turn the heat on ....I have no idea if it works!

But you're not old! I just got back from Naples and the weather was awful. One day the high was 60 (and it rained all day). I think one night I turned the system off on my side of my parent's house and it was 67 in the morning. But my dad definitely was running it during the day. And he's always complaining about how much electric heat costs (that they don't need!).

I never slept in pants or socks (used to be shorts and tank year round) until we got a puppy in the winter. Getting up in the middle of the night to potty a puppy in the winter, was NOT happening in shorts!! And now I still sleep that way, not the socks though) because I seem to be colder at night than I used to.

Glad I could help - I think we all can sometimes see some bad news in this game and give pause to our own strategy. But the good news in your case is Chase has seemed to completely move away from these shutdowns. The most likely "worst case scenario" for you...is you get denied. And that's fine...you just move on - or try again in a couple months

Most definitely! I've already told my DH who hasn't changed in waist size since we met 24 years ago that once I hit a certain time in my life, we'll just live in different sides of the house and I can run the a/c while he runs the heat---he is ALWAYS cold!

I don't think I'm old and I live in FL (well, sort of FL) and our theromstat is set to heat-granted it hasn't turned on since it's in the 70s but even 50s feel cold here b/c of the humidity-our system dehumidifies so that's key to staying warm here, I think.

My Dh says that all the time. We have two cats but really we each have our own lol. Each one kind of prefers one of us over the other. The one that’s always with Dh sits on his lap and he loves it because he calls her his heater

all this talk about heat and a/c had me laughing. I keep playing with ours to see if it changes the electric bill. Hasn't changed it much. Learned the hard way that is just better for us to keep the a/c set between 68-70 in the summer and heat at 70-74. Tried using fans last summer and setting the a/c up to 74 and that cost me almost double.
DH thinks I'm crazy for always setting the temperature schedules at different temps when we aren't home vs when we are here but it does save some.
