I love credit cards so much! v2.0 (see first page for add'l details)

It's been buried a little bit in a couple of daily discussion threads on r/churning, but there are now two reports of users with a total BoA shutdown after a periodic review. It's early, but the pattern seems to be those who have BoA biz cards who opened them with a relatively low reported biz revenue compared to total biz credit extended across all banks.

There's a couple things worth mentioning - banks are now pulling biz credit profiles. If that catches on across all banks (and no reason to think it wouldn't eventually), it's not going to be so easy to justify new biz cards anymore. Also, I don't like this trend of total shutdowns without warning, just like Chase did. But I guess I get it too.

Last night I preemptively closed my BoA Biz Cash Rewards card that I opened last year, and had met the spend and never used again. There's no reason to keep it open, and if active biz cards are a trigger for a BoA review, then I might as well close it. I'm interested to see how many more of these pop up.

Been reading about everything; Superbowl commercials, tires, 1099's etc but still about 30 pages behind. But this is concerning to me as i was going to go for the CIP in a couple weeks. Right, Chase not BoA but still...It would be my 3rd business card for my "business" so not sure what I should do. I guess i will be assessing the situation.

How long did it take from meeting MSR to your bonuses posting?

The Aspire bonus posted the next business day after meeting MSR (which was 1/31) even though the transactions that put me over MSR were still pending. Amex is weird sometimes.

For the Hilton Biz I had an auto-payment post on 1/31 which put it over MSR, and it posted yesterday evening. So it's still super fast bonus posting, but it was strange that there was a lag.

Since apparently saying things out loud conjures them into existence, let's try this one. My local CU push from 2 weeks ago coded as DD on Wells Fargo, but the bonus hasn't posted. I wonder if they caught on to that one.

RIP Wells Fargo...

probably for today only haha.

I had seen their new bonus offer and was trying to sign up for an account yesterday and got a strange error when I entered my info. Then I saw the story about them. I still want the account though! Super easy bonus!

Yep, my dh sets it...but yes, he sets it at 62 at night...day is 67, but since I wear capris and tee and I am constantly upp'ing it to 70 during the day. He isn't here so he doesn't know  I've tried just putting on a sweatshirt or sweater but then I'm roasting and feeling claustrophobic.

I'm marveling at these comments about using the heater in the house. We had been in our house about 10 years before using the heater. It was a cold winter (for South Florida). First, we didn't even know if we had a heating system and then were unsure how it even worked. Thank goodness for Google. When we turned it on the house smelled like something was burning. I think that was about 10 years ago, haven't used it again. We both like to be comfortable once we are home from work. I change from my uniform into jammies if I don't plan on going anywhere else after work which is most of the time as I usually still have more work to do from home but I often wait until that is done before changing. "Jammy pants time" is a celebratory time in this house!

I have to say the thought of DH or anyone for that matter, "allowing" me to do or not do something is hysterical at best. That would spark an immediate "come to Jesus" meeting. I have an easier time comprehending heating systems in Florida than I would with someone having that notion. As far as I'm concerned, no one is allowed to get the idea that they could allow me to do or not do something. But to each their own.

Decided it's time to be normal-like and order my free credit report (I monitor everything via credit karma and experian apps). The first ID question was what is your astrological sun sign from your birthday? ...there are things in this world I have never paid attention to, that is one of them. I know, that's kinda weird but it's just never been something I've been intrigued by :confused3 Thank goodness for Google! Why don't they ask something simple like, we see you opened a Citi card, what year was that in? lol, just kidding guys, I hate that q too. Guess zodiac signs it is!

ETA: apparently it's still a good idea to download your reports- although our vets probably already know this :) Just saw a phone number listed on mine that I've never used...
Wow, guess we're hitting bottom when CR bureaus are down to asking "Hey baby, what's your sign?"
I guess it's slightly better than the Citi question as at least you could Google the answer as opposed to the "eeny meeny miny moe" for your card date :p Knock wood they mostly ask about my Discover card which only has one recent date.

retention offer is when u year is up, your AF posted, u call the bank to give u something in return to keep your card open.

DH applying for CIC will depend on your app status. 5/24, 4/12, 3/6, 2/3 1/30. if he falls below all that, your cleared to go!

Thank you! Yes, he is well under that as only has applied for one in less than 2 years.

Totally agree. DH told me I would probably wear pajamas into court if he said that to me :rotfl:I’m not interested in keeping on tights and a skirt one second longer than necessary. Plus, I’m heading to the barn as soon as I get home from work, so clearly need appropriate attire. Usually by the time DH gets home, I’m covered in hay and smell like I’ve been cleaning stalls (which I have been). Welcome home, honey! I figure he was originally attracted to me sweating my butt off in head to toe polyester in the summer while showing horses though, so every other look has to just be an improvement.

Wait til you get old. My parents are in Naples and use their heater a fair amount. I dress accordingly when I visit:)

Looks like my Hyatt card is in the mail today! Does anyone know if the $3000 in the first 3 months and $3000 in the next 3 months actually HAS to be in those time frames? Or can I just go ahead and knock it all out over the next couple months? I'm going to do a PNC account for me so that will take out 2k immediately.

Still no sign of 1099s.

I got my first bonus on the 2nd statement and my 2nd bonus on the 3rd statement.

Same...can't do pants or socks for sleeping. I sleep in the same clothes in summer and winter actually @vanjust14 How in the world do you sleep in a robe lol??? I would die! My dh cranks our heat down at night but I use a nice, toasty electric blanket. In the summer, he has the a/c blasting and I have a nice, toasty electric blanket :D
Hahaha! DH says the same thing. he sleeps in shorts and I'm bundled up robe and all and a comforter on top of that, the only thing I don't like is socks LOL

I wouldn’t let 2 DPs of Bank of America shutdowns affect my plan to apply for a Chase business card at all. First off, BoA is sort of crazy...

Don’t let fear of something that isn’t happening yet prevent you from scoring the best bonus out there.

What I would do in reaction to this news...avoid BoA...they suck, really bad, and I wouldn’t give them my business. Numerous people here have a lot of bad things to say about them :)

I never slept in pants or socks (used to be shorts and tank year round) until we got a puppy in the winter. Getting up in the middle of the night to potty a puppy in the winter, was NOT happening in shorts!! And now I still sleep that way, not the socks though) because I seem to be colder at night than I used to.

Thank you both. I read them but am still so confused. It was sooo easy in YNAB4. I just want my red arrow back! I suppose I will keep doing trial and error.

Basically, they don't allow you to carry forward a negative balance anymore because it violates the YNAB rules and it makes it so your budget doesn't actually reflect the reality that the money is missing. What I do with reimbursements is once the reimbursement comes in, I go back to the month in which I incurred the expense and add to the budget. It all seems to even out then.
