Absolutely

Pet peeve and I'm not even from there but itls not Ore-gone it's Ore-gen like in or begen.

Also, need to figure out why there's a helicopter circling over the house, dot hasn't posted about an accident on the freeway so it's worrisome. Seems to be gone now after 5+ minutes.
Totally guilty of Ore-gone here in MA!!:rolleyes1

We finished the MSR on my Capital One card. Still waiting to see the points in our account. I did check and our $600 from our Japan rail passes/ghibli tickets can be “erased” with the points. We haven’t decided which card will be next and probably won’t until we know about dh’s job situation

Got letters from Citi today - approved the extra 15k AA miles on the personal, denied extra 20k on the biz.

How inconvenient. Anyone else been matched lately?

I asked via chat. They said they would get back to me. I got a letter saying I wasn’t targeted send proof. Reached out asking where to send it chat said I was already matched? The extra points posted to my account.

Tried via chat for another card today and I was told they would get back to me in three days.

The inconsistencies here are AMAZING

Ok. An argument could be made that Costco does own the store, so Costco’s. I’m not about to tell every local in Hawaii that they’re wrong the next time I’m there. You could. But I don’t want to get beat up by Maui’s descendants.

I don't plan to walk around in Hawaii or anywhere else correcting people's grammar. Just about the only place I do that is in my classroom. (Here I was just funnin'.)

Well dh’s flight out of Orlando is delayed. He’s now landing in Atlanta at 8:30 and his next flight boards at 8:31..... He’s had a pretty stressful time with flights in the last two days.

I totally agree with you but it's just how it is. Same for tea. If you ask for tea, that means 'sweet, iced tea'. If you want unsweetened, you must specify that. And if you want hot tea...well, they'd look at you like have 3 heads:laughing:

haha, that reminds me of my first trip up north when we were moving to Maine. We stopped somewhere, maybe in Mass, I don't remember exactly, but I asked for tea. I'm from Texas, that means iced tea. The waitress brought me hot tea. I was so completely confused. And that is when I learned things are different in different parts of the country lol

YES. I served tables for 6 years. Someone asking for hot tea was terrible lol. That is one of the most annoying things you can request. I do like hot tea, but I'll make it myself, thanks.

Pepsi kicks cokes butt

Downvote!!

DH used to only drink Pepsi in college, but switched to coke after he graduated. Not sure why.

He figured out that Coke is far superior to Pepsi.

It's mostly east coast people that I notice do this. I don't correct people though just cringe in my head. If I was from the state (thankfully I'm not, no offense but blah) I'm sure I would correct people.

I do feel bad for people that have to learn english as a second or more language. It's hard enough with all the exceptions and rules as a first language then you toss in all the regional terms and around here Native American city names and it's got to be so hard. Though it's always fun listening to new newscasters from outside the area trying to pronounce towns like Sequim (skwim, one syllable) and Puyallup (pew-al-up, yes like your star wars pew pew).

The drive through liquor store thing was the funniest thing I ever heard when a comedian made a joke about it... thought it was unique, and crazy and wouldn't last long, until I heard later it's pretty common place in some states. That's what growing up in PA does for you, where it will never, ever be a thing (at least not in my lifetime) given liquor has to be bought in a completely separate store run by the state still. In fact, we call them State stores. If you want a bottle of Rum for that Coke, gotta hit the State store before Sunday (although, many are open on Sundays now - progress) Only in the last few years have we been able to buy wine and beer outside of a State store or beer distributor, and just in the last year that we can buy beer outside of a bar/restaurant in less than a case.

Yes, I look like a kid in a candy store when I go out of state and I see single beers for sale in a gas station, Target, Publix, you name it. It's a novelty every time. Not sure what'll happen if I come across a drive through one

We've got drive through windows right here, and I can think of 4 of them within a mile of me. Wasted on me, though.

The AA miles don't work for Disneyland, right?

We had a weekend that helped put how precious life is back into perspective. My aunt is 52. She was having headaches and attributed them to stress at work. She went to the doctor on Friday because the headaches continued, and the doctors found a mass on her brain. Surgery is today at noon. She's the reason I teach, and when I started out in education she was my mentor. She was set to retire in just a few more years. I try to balance saving for someday down the road, but not missing the opportunities that exist today. I don't think I'll ever regret having traveled and spending quality time with my family. Thanks to everyone who helps each of us take more trips and enjoy experiences through credit card points!

Hope your aunt has already made it through the surgery successfully! Sure puts things in perspective fast when you have to go through something like this.

Broke down and took the quiz. Yonkers, Jersey City and New York. Um, not quite. At least, MD and PA were in the right color. All because I call those rubber-soled shoes used for gym sneakers. I guess I should try DS’s term- kicks next time.

@wendow - I'm sad to say we have finally found our difference! No Tea, of any kind, for me!! I do not like it, a cold Diet Mt. Dew, now that is perfection to me! :) :drinking1

FORUM ALERT - finally we have some evidence that @SouthFayetteFan and @wendow are NOT actually alter egos of the same person. This should probably be posted to the News section. :P
