Sorry. Just such a long flight for us, I'm doing everything I can to avoid coach.
damn it, i didnt check J class haha.
Thank you, Albort. We're looking into it all right now, J-class so we can lie down a bit. We need to use MRs instead of URs.

well, this one is the toughie one... ANA has the best redemption when it comes to J class... but 2 day transfer period is also in the risk... ANA does have some pretty sick redemptions, i wouldnt worry unless u dont plan on travelling forever in the near future...
Phew, dodged a bullet! It makes me so so so so mad. DH and I would love to get a place that needs updated because we could do it easily with FILs help, he did it for a living just always worked for someone's business, not his own. And I see these places and it's like, they could have redone the kitchen layout to make it more functional, or opened up the floorplan or something... but no, they just painted the cabinets and slapped on a granite countertop and now they want an additional $100k. I'm just like grrrr I don't want to pay for the crap work you did just to tear it all out! One place we saw put down new laminate, but didn't replace the original hardwood... so it went thin light oak hardwood - dark grey wide board laminate - thin hardwood - gray laminate... ahhh it looked so bad. They also painted the whole house the same shade of grey (I understand, new paint, neutral color) but apparently the kids bed's upstairs had been pink and blue, AND THEY HAD PAINTED PINK AND BLUE OVER THE WALL OUTLETS BUT THE FLIPPERS DIDN'T BUY NEW ONES. Light grey rooms with bright pink and blue outlet coversThat sounds super annoying about the houses. I would hate to buy a house and it look pretty on the outside but really have issues underneath. And actually the first house that we almost bought was like that. It looked nice and updated but then we paid for an inspection and it had some major issues including a sagging roof that they tried covering up. I’m so glad we ended up with the house we’re in now.
Ahhh, interesting to know a little background. DHs coworker moved from Cherry Creek area to Boulder for the schools for his kids. My hometown was like that, anytime the schools asked for money they got it. I feel like overall I had a more educational high school experience than DH/brothers/old roommate. Also, I would like to know how those people feel who thought the marijuana legalization money would go to schools... how do you properly tax a business that deals in cash? I'm sure they are completely honest on their tax formsI get completely irritated with the lack of funding for public education. It's been a huge problem in CO ever since the TABOR Act got passed in 1992 (the author of the bill, Douglas Bruce, went on to become a convicted felon of multiple crimes, but his anti-tax legacy lives on), and fortunately in Boulder county the voters pass local mill levies to support schools. That does make property here expensive, but I think our public schools here are pretty good as a result. It's true that you need to live in the catchment area to be guaranteed a spot in the school you want, even with open enrollment. I think public education could be so great if it wasn't so starved all the time.
DH is trying to create a flying blue account for me for my MRs, thinking he can transfer a few of his in there. Is that possible? He thinks it can work that way because I'm an AU on his plat but he's not one on mine. (which is why he's not trying to move my points to his FB account). Do you think this can work?
Is it correct that you can pay federal taxes online with a cc for just under 2%? I've been offered a small profits interest from the owners of my company. The drawback is I have to pay quarterly taxes (including self employment taxes) and my health care premiums will no longer be tax-free (I'm going to ask that they offset that by increasing my salary modestly). But it looks like I can pay them with a credit card. I've been trying to figure out if I can spend $5,000 in three months before I apply for platinum but this would be easy with three months of tax payments.
remember, fly blue is dynamic based, so u dont want to try AF.
if i recall correctly, yes, he can transfer points to your account(someone else needs to confirm please)
so far for MR for J class, i see ANA and Air Canada as top 2 contenders for *A partners. SAS or UA Metal. ANA is 48 hour transfer time, Air Canada is instant.
i also see CX as another for BA/AY metal. i havent looked at those yet. CX is 48 hour transfer time.

@mmmears - I haven’t been following the entire discussion, but would always caution against speculative transfers especially if transfers are otherwise instant.
That said, yes if you are an AU on DH’s Plat, DH can transfer his MRs to your FB account.
Need some advice. I'm going to be 5/24 once the personal Plat hit my credit reports. I think that's sometime soon after the second statement cuts? The date of the second statement cut is exactly 60 dates from my last Chase app - the CIC that I had to go through recon to get approved. Since then I've dropped combined Chase CL to 30k. Before that it was already <50% income and <70k. I had 2 returned payments and 1 late payment due to a typo in the bank account (the second time was because the autopay didn't update the corrected info) - all were reversed.
My original plan was to just take a break from Chase until August. But with DPs of CIP #2 with SSN, I'm tempted to go for it. I think it's a loophole that's going to close sooner or later (my theory is that the EIN option will stick around). I'm okay with 2 wasted pull if I'm denied. More worried about a shutdown.
Chase stats:
09/18 CSR
09/18 CIP
11/18 CIU
01/19 CIC
Go for it or don't go for it?
I think it will be and that would keep me under 5/24. They want to make it retroactive so I’m thinking in a 3 month period I will need to pay 6 months of federal taxes and payroll taxes.Pay1040 .com charges only 1.87% for credit card payments and accepts Amex.
ETA: If $10k in 3 months is possible, there’s also the 100k MR Amex Biz Plat call-in offer to consider.
We won’t be able to travel until the last week of May. Have you seen many military promos that late? I just happened to see one this year.
Can you explain about what you mean by speculative transfers please?

Not transferring a bucketload of points/miles unless you know exactly when/where you're going to book and the seats are available and you're ready to push "purchase" is what it means to me. For example, if I'm transferring to Delta, I have my delta screen on ready to go to the final page, flip over to MR screen, transfer the MRs, refresh Delta and get my flights. I don't know if it HAS to be that immediate, but fairly soon.

Ok, that's what we are trying to do. Found seats, not on perfect days, but it will do. It's that 1-2 min thing that worries me.
Arrived in Orlando today and catching up...so others may have answered....I wouldn’t do it...you’ve opened 4 Chase cards in 4 months..this would be 5 in 6 months
