Just catching up here after a busy morning. The HVAC guys are FINALLY here to put our new heat pump in!! Thank goodness. This has been a nightmare process. In good news, the home warranty company did pay for it so I've gotten my money's worth and then some in what I've paid for the home warranty, considering they also replaced a $1400 part on the old heat pump earlier this summer.

Got a couple different cards and bank accounts I need to apply for once I roll through some more work today... been procrastinating too much!

Our one cruise was HA....and yes,it was a calm and genteel atmosphere overall....which is why my entire family wants to GO BACKKKKKKK no joke, my YA sons included want to recreate the whole calm and not crazy trip again..... in fact my one ds wants to arrange a trip for himself and his friends, he likes being the youngest on the boat! I personally loved the nightly dancing in the lounge to old tunes, the previous generations learned to dance let me tell you! (at heart the four of us are obviously old and boring) Seriously I love Holland America.

I'm looking for saver awards on United for my flight back from Europe and there's nothing! Please tell me that availability gets better a little closer in. Right now I'm looking almost exactly 11 months out (calendar only opened yesterday).

I'm no expert, but I will tell you my recent experience.

Planning a trip to Riviera Maya, Mexico with a departure date of 8/11/2020. I started checking every day as soon as the flights became available which was around early September. For several weeks, there was no saver award availability, and the awards that were available were even higher than I'm used to seeing, something like 40K for one-way economy. This seemed weird to me since a month prior for departures in July, there was plenty of saver award availability

Then finally just yesterday the saver award availability finally opened up, and I grabbed 2 business saver awards at 30k each. The economy saver awards also showed up for 17.5K.

Again, I'm no expert, but maybe when the schedule initially opens up they hold off on the saver awards and then release them a month later.

This is absolutely crazy. My tickets are still showing up in MDE although I suppose I will be checking them every day until we use them. Or maybe I should call and make sure there is a code so they don't get canceled?

What a pain. I was hoping for this promotion to reappear at some point but now I'm not so sure.

When did you cancel the package and did you do it online? If I was given the correct info, I think you should call. I just worry if I wasn't, would calling make things worse?

I tend to agree with you. There are 2 things making me worry in my case. First. I have to book the entire itinerary on one ticket to benefit from the "excursion" perk, so I haven't booked my outbound flights yet. Second, I'm looking to come back Thursday of labor day week and I'm not sure if that makes any difference in availability. Dh is willing to come back in coach, so worst case scenario, that's what I'll book.

I think we may have to switch our cruise. Would you do

A: 4 nights/5 days at Disney w/ single park tickets followed by a 4 night cruise on Fantasy

B: 2 nights/3 days at Disney w/ single park tickets (or 2 days but park hoppers) followed by 2 beach days and then a 5 night cruise on Fantasy

C- skip the cruise, 6 nights at a deluxe w/ 6 day PHs

Kids will be 1 and 3. Cost is 100% equal, except C which is cheaper. If you wanna give me a reason thats awesome but if you just wanna vote-

So uhhh the most active comment on the r/churning DD thread today is somebody who is sad because they cancelled their Amex Plat and it "Sucks they make you send it back". Apparently this is because they were hoping to keep the metal card "for fun".

This is the depths that r/churning has descended to my friends... So many questions...for starters:

1) Does this person think Amex will hunt them down and put them in CC jail for not sending the card back?
2) What would you do "for fun" with an inactive Amex Plat card...??
