Thanks for this. What are your thoughts about buying gift cards at office supply stores just to keep the Am Ex Rat happy? Not worth it since they can see it's gift cards?Roundup of current Visa and Mastercard Gift Card Deals:
Safeway/Vons/Randall’s/Albertsons/Tom Thumb/Acme/Jewel/Shaw’s is running a deal on Visa Gift Cards, now until 8/31/19.
• Save $10 on 2x $50 VGC ($4.95 activation fee/each, $0.10 savings)
• Save $15 on 2x $100 VGC ($5.95 activation fee/each, $3.10 savings)
Safeway/Vons/Randall’s/Albertsons/Tom Thumb/Acme/Jewel/Shaw’s is running the same Save $10/$15 deal on Mastercard Gift Cards, now until 9/7/19.
• Save $10 on 2x $50 MCGC ($4.95 activation fee/each, $0.10 savings)
• Save $15 on 2x $100 MCGC ($5.95 activation fee/each, $3.10 savings)
Safeway et al. tends to stock Metabank-issued MCGCs, which can be used on Plastiq as a debit with only a 1% fee.
Add the Just4U coupons on the Safeway app, or create an online account and add the offer there. Limit 1 per account.
Pay with a credit card that earns a high bonus at supermarkets, like the Amex Gold for 4x Membership Rewards Points, Amex Hilton Surpass for 6x Hilton Honors Points, or Amex Blue Cash Preferred for 6% cash back; another card that has supermarkets as its quarterly bonus category; or a card on which you're working on the MSR. Amex cards on which you're working towards MSR are generally fine to use for gift cards at grocery stores as long as you mix in some actual grocery items to give your purchase an odd number.
Office Depot/Office Max has a Save $15 deal on $300+ Visa Gift Cards, now until 8/31/19.
Limit 1 per customer, but YMMV when purchasing more.
OD/OM sells fixed denomination VGCs in $100 (with a $5.95 activation fee) and $200 (with a $6.95 activation fee). To maximize this deal, it’s best to buy 2x $200 VGCs, paying with a CIC for 5x UR at office supply stores.
$206.95 x 2 = $413.90 - $15 = $398.90 (a $1.10 discount off face value) x 5x UR = 1,994.5 UR
You won’t earn as many points buying $200 and $100 VGCs, and multiple $100 VGCs will increase your fees.
$105.95 + $206.95 = $312.90 - $15 = $297.90 (a $2.10 discount off face value) x 5x UR = 1,489.5 UR
$105.95 x 3 = $317.85 - $15 = $302.85. ($2.85 in fees) x 5x UR = 1,514.25 UR
Pay with a credit card that earns a high bonus at office supply stores, like the Chase Ink Cash or Ink+ for 5x Ultimate Rewards Points, or a card on which you're working on the MSR. DO NOT purchase gift and prepaid cards at office supply stores with an Amex while working on that card's MSR.
These $15 off deals are about as good as they get, so act fast or expect your store(s) to be picked clean within a day or two. (A few of my local Safeways have already been cleaned out of $100 VGCs, and the promo has another week left.)
Previously - whenever you buy gift cards, be vigilant that the gift card's packaging hasn't been compromised and made susceptible to being drained. @Lain shared some tips to avoid buying tampered gift cards.

This is the link in my browser history: https://founders.disneyplus.com/Any chance you can copy and paste the link here? Maybe it will work if we click the link after signing into our D23 accounts.
Yeah I want the pins lol. I was thinking about signing up but now its like ill get the pins for $40 instead of $100
If you're interested in Gold, it could be worth it, but I remember there were posts about free members also getting it on the news thread and it has worked for numerous free members over there. Not sure if there is a delay or something. I wouldn't want you guys to pay for Gold and then not get the Disney+ offer eitherFYI, according to CNet: "Not planning on being in Anaheim this weekend? No problem! This three-year Disney Plus discount deal (minus the pin) will be available online after the Expo from Aug. 26 to Sept. 2. -- but only for D23 Gold members in the US. A D23 Gold membership to the Disney Fan Club costs $100 a year and provides VIP access to events, discounts and other goodies."
If D23 Gold is what it takes, you could think of this as paying $31 for a year of D23 Gold while prepaying for 3 years of Disney+ at standard rate of $70/year.
Yeah - the code field is blank when I open the link, even after signing into D23.This is the link in my browser history: https://founders.disneyplus.com/
A code auto-populated in the field when I originally clicked it
That was actually my planI would probably book the flight you want now. I wouldn't bank on the ability to change later in case something doesn't work out.
If you want to get really sneaky and you have lots of points, you could also book the cheapest flight you can find but 3-4 days later than your actual flight. SW won't cancel it because it won't trigger in their system as a duplicate. Then if the change loophole opens up, you could modify that flight to the one you wanted and cancel the original.
Now that I've typed this out...I'm thinking about doing that myself LOL!!!
Oh man... every once in awhile I try to speak logic on r/churning... and it always backfires, lol.
If you want to read an interesting exchange on how being <5/24 is a terrible decision OH and apparently one user knows my own strategy and travel preferences better than I do... well here you go:
5/24 is the minor leagues???
My favorite was, you are severely limiting your points accumulationOh man... every once in awhile I try to speak logic on r/churning... and it always backfires, lol.

I really enjoyed the Michael Jordan analogy though. I feel it’s accurate - I could jump back into the “NBA” (ie >5/24) anytime I want. This is something I’ve decided to do. And it’s working well. Why do we have to be all judgmental. I have respect for what everybody’s doing in the game.Bless your minor league heart...
not sure how he figures you can't accumulate any real miles or points by staying under 5/24...![]()

I also joined hoping to get the offer but I don't have it eitherJust joined and I don't see this offer unfortunately. Bummer! Thanks for mentioning it though!
Yes - great point! Having the experience of a veteran churner with the blessing of <5/24 status is pretty amazing!I guess it depends on what the definition of "real miles or points" is. I think trying to get back under 5/24 I've been much more strategic than I was when I was under. That said, I'm also 4 or 5 years more experienced in the game so once I'm under again, I'll hopefully be even more efficient with my utilization.
