Thank you! I have no problem stalking airfare and my dates are set in stone so I will watch 12-11 months from my trip date. The flights seemed to range from $1,100 to $2,500 roundtrip. I was also trying to figure out which planes were the best. It seemed like some with lesser looking 1st class cabins were actually more money. The Dreamliner seemed to be the best option based on the layout/format of the seats.
That pretty much sounds like my PlanePrince. Thank you for a new nickname. I'm sure my 14-year-old will love it. He was jokingly telling me he was going to call CPS over the long flight he has to endure. I would love to hear that conversation. "My mom is making me sit on a plane for 10 hours to go on a 10 day Disney cruise and stay at the Waldorf in London and the Conrad Hotel in NYC". Gotta love a teenagers sense of humor.
What is the deal with Priority Pass and “The Club” (both of them) at MCO? Our return flight is 8/21 at 7:50 and we were thinking of arriving to the airport early to grab some food and drinks in a lounge but I’m wondering if we will be let in or turned away due to space restrictions.
Anyone here have experience with the lounges at MCO using a PP?
We are flying SW so I believe it takes a little work to get to and from the lounges. I would hate to drag my kids around the airport only to be denied access.
We love Cask and Larder so that would be our second choice but I’d rather eat and drink for free lol. I’m just wondering if the lounges are worth a shot at 4:50 on a Wednesday.

I haven’t stayed at Disney for cash in many years. Yikes! I had no idea BW was that much now. We will be there for our next trip but staying on DVC points. That seems like a big difference, but I love both of those resorts lol. Yacht Club has the slight edge since you can walk to Epcot and it has SAB, but I absolutely love POFQ. We never try to stay at the same resort twice, though. YC was an option for our trip in Nov, but I want to try something new so that's why I was thinking BW. It is pretty expensive, though. These are our choices:
- ASMovies-$414
- OKW-$1022
- AoA (Cars Suite)-$1160
- BW-$1558
I didn’t know it was dapper day then. We will be there that weekend too!Hey I know that weekend! I’m gonna be there too! (FYI Sat is Dapper Day at DHS if you weren’t aware. Sun is at EP. I have no idea how that does/doesn’t affect crowds. We kinda set our Sat at DHS in stone before we realized it was Dapper Days so lol, guess we’ll find out!) If you’re interested in a quick meetup lemme know! (Totally ok if you’re not)
Yikes, that is good that you caught it right away and were able to create a new email. Congrats! Sounds like a good churning day for you!I made a bonehead move this morning - I applied for CIP3 for DH using my support link...and I put in an email address that didn't exist into the application.![]()
It was a combination of a couple other emails I have, and I didn't realize it until I looked at the screenshot that I took of the app. Once I saw that, I created the email right away (fortunately it was available!) and have been calling the status line all day. Good news - he was approved!! Phew! Yesterday, I SM'd Chase to lower the CL on one of his cards, made a payment on that account for the amount of the statement balance, and his CIP3 has a 6K CL so it looks like I cut it pretty close.
He also finally received his Hilton Biz card today, it's been 14 days since applying. It's turned out to be a good churning day!
I also couldn't stand the waiting anymore, and decided to apply for CitiBizAA3 today using an expired mailer - and that one is in review right now. Fingers crossed!
2 MSRs almost done (P2 Plat, P1 Arrival+), 2 (hoping for 3) MSRs to start. I was getting antsy with facing the prospect of no MSR for my upcoming expenses, I'm happy to have kicked that ball down the field a little.
Yeah we always pay cash. That’s even with the passholder rate. My plan right now is to book a hotel with dh’s travel credit and watch to see what cruises (if any) have a FL rate. I may end up doing just the cruise and get rid of the wdw trip. We can always just go for the day insteadI haven’t stayed at Disney for cash in many years. Yikes! I had no idea BW was that much now. We will be there for our next trip but staying on DVC points.
Trying to convince my parents to let my 16 year old sister to fly alone and meet SO and I at MCO. (16 is fine to fly alone, right?) I want to go to food and wine to get the AP magnets for a weekend lol This is my sister that I took to Disney last year and she complained about her feet hurting. Why do I torture myself? JK we had fun and she wants to go back so it couldn’t have been that bad. (She really probably just likes to get away from my parents lol)
Yay for bringing your sis along- she should be fine flying unaccompanied. When my DD was 14 she flew down to join me while I was at a conference - I had her fly in and take Magical Express on her own - she met me at the hotel. Worked out just fine (but I did stalk her using Find my Friends on my phone the whole time). My parents sent me to Japan unaccompanied when I was 5. FIVE!!!! Granted I had extended family meeting me on the other end but... I don't think I would have done that!
With all the grownups buying up the Star Wars and HP sets, I guess they've decided that going for the adult market is a good strategy! They’re making a friends LEGO set: https://shop.lego.com/en-US/product/central-perk-21319
Where are you staying at? I'm just not finding a lot for good deals on resorts for almost any weekend around Halloween. If we do decide to go we could try meeting up! I had no idea Dapper Days was that weekend. We won't be dressing up for it lol
Good to know. Did you get in with a PP or some other way?
ETA: It looks like they “may” restrict access between 2 and 8 and we would be smack dab in the middle of that timeframe.
The $1558 is for 3 nights, but that’s not for my birthday weekend (nov 1). It’s actually for the weekend of nov 14. We wouldn’t be able to plan out 11 months ahead so probably wouldn’t do a dvc rental. I’ve been looking at the confirmed reservations on the rental store but nothing so far for the dates I wantI'm there from Nov 3rd until Nov 12th. Noticed I had some leftover points in my use year and checked availability in November. NO DVC resort had any availability on a weekend in November and other availability was orphan 1 nights. I've been watching because I'm doing a split stay at BCV and BW and I have 1 night not covered because I'd planned on a side trip, then had second thoughts.
If you want to get your birthday at Beach Club or Boardwalk next year - ie 2020 - I would consider renting from a member. I saw 1558$ above and is that 2 nights or 3 nights? 3 nights over a weekend in a studio on Halloween weekend next year is 38 points standard view or 47 points garden or boardwalk view. $650 to $800 @$17 a point which seems like it's the going rate. Requires planning ahead and commitment though as that reservation has to be made at 11months by someone with quick fingers! And they'll want upfront payment, most likely.
From what I have read here....no if you PC to the Freedom you lose the insuranceIf I have trips booked and paid with the CSR do you think the insurance coverage still applies on the trip if I PC to a Freedom before the trip?![]()
When we used the PP lounge they asked for our boarding passes along with ID and the PP cardAny experience using MCO PP lounges on arrival? We fly in on Delta and arrive around 8:30pm tomorrow night. Curious if we could grab some late night snacks before checking in to MCO Hyatt.
