Congratulations! Her child care business must be booming!

:cheer2:

0/30 is not a hard rule like 5/24; it’s more of a guideline that’s often enforced.
Yup! Doing field trips now so she needed another card for those expenses :P
I had no idea that was just a guideline. Once I realized she wasn’t 0/30, I thought the app was doomed for sure.

Yup, in the words of Captain Barbossa:

I think the only way to get the upgrade to work is if you can charge it back to the room.
You can't charge it back. At least neither time I've upgraded.
I wasn't expecting it to code travel, so I was prepared for the result. I used a UCT ticket so got a discount that way and it went towards MSR on my Arrival.

Last weekend in June.

Here are some replies I typed up before. I've never stayed at either hotel you are referring to. We stay in Mount Pleasant when we go back b/c that is where we lived, so it is convenient to visiting our family and friends and we can easily pop downtown for a day if we wish.

I know right where that is. You will be able to walk over one block to King street and then head south to all kinds of shopping and dining. Or just head south on Meeting street and you will come upon the old city market....great for browsing. When you get to the end of market street, take a right on east bay and more shops/restaurants as you approach waterfront park. From waterfront park, just follow the water down Rainbow Row to the Battery and white point gardens.

Really close to your restaurant is Jestine's kitchen...amazing fried chicken. I also really like 82 Queen, magnolia's, FIG, home team bbq (they catered our wedding).... yuummmmm, I want to go home!

For beaches, Sullivans Island or Isle of Palms. If you want to venture out a bit, Kiawah is great and you could stop at the Angel Oak along the way.
How about a plantation tour?..magnolia, Middleton, Boone hall...
A boat tour to a barrier island...capers, Morris island light house, etc...
For war history- Boat to Fort Sumter or Patriots Point/Yorktown.

I spend so much time making the rounds to visit family and friends that we don't get to do much for fun. Looking forward to spending July there so we have lots of time to play tourist. :)

I have a 5k CL on my P2's CIP. I just paid $500 for something before I looked at the balance. In short, my pending charges will put me over the CL once they clear.
What happens once they clear? What are my options to avoid any negatives? Thank you!

Just applied. I had been trying to decide what my next card should be. I'm 3/24 with a goal of a WDW vacation in 2020. The Barclay Arrival Plus was one of the cards I was considering. I'm about 50 pages behind on the thread. While trying to catch up I sometimes jump to the last page to see if there's anything major going on (and I check Reddit). As soon as I saw the news about the offer going away I decided to jump.

I got the we need more time message. 😟
I got that message too and was approved. It can't remember how long the wait was, but it wasn't long. Good luck!

Ugh, how long does it take Barclays to credit a payment? I only got a $1k limit on my AA Biz, so I charged $900 + $95 fee... made a $300 payment on 6/7 and have been waiting to do the last $100 but my available credit is STILL $5 even though my balance is $695 and the payment is posted :badpc:

Oooohhhh, that stinks :( You're saying the charge from Disney couldn't be "erased" right? I think @wendow was able to use the credit for an Undercovertourist charge...which I am not opposed to doing. Exactly, why I asked here, I didn't want to find out the hard way. So thanks to you both!!

They also advertise timeshares...I wonder if anyone has used on their DVC Dues...

Anyway, may all be a moot point. App went pending, so we'll see.
Correct, couldn't erase. I didn't think it would...I just wanted the purchase towards MSR as I was upgrading UCT tickets that I bought at a discount. Would've been a nice surprise if I could have erased it though!

I went to pending on this app too and was approved. Just give it a couple days. I'm sure it will be fine!

Make a payment right now and hope it posts before the charge.

Thank you. That was helpful. Mount Pleasant had much cheaper hotel prices but DH is spoiled and wants to be in the historic district. We probably will mostly walk around and eat, do one plantation tour and maybe hit the beach. It's going to be a "take it easy" vacation, so I agreed to splurge on the hotel. Still haven't decided on which one.

I think that's a good idea since you are there as tourists. Since it is my home I do less touristy stuff. Ya'll will have a great time! I thought we we going that same weekend, but now we don't arrive til that Monday and I may push it back a week or so since DH has declared he cannot come with us and leave his elderly dog at home. :sad2: Whole point of going 4th of July week was for him to miss less work.

Just want to double check that I am thinking straight. If I am looking at a @$1200 ticket so 80,000+ points via CSR or I can book 2 one ways directly with United at 40,000 points each plus some cash, I should do via CSR because it will earn miles with that ticket. Correct? Anything else different about them? And Grrrrr for not booking the other day when they were $900.

Also, I have United lounge passes with my CC. Can I give them to my DD? Or is it just connected to my CC and I need to use them?

If anyone is looking for Busch Gardens Williamsburg tickets, Groupon has a deal for $53 you get three days in a seven day period. Can be used at Water Country too. I highly recommend Water Country for anyone who likes Water Parks. Both parks are so well maintained.
Thanks! We are going on August. Any restaurant tips, etc??

I've scheduled payments for same day and those have worked to keep me under the limit. especially with being a weekday.

“But if it matters to you, you'll be able to choose Gryffindor over Slytherin. The Sorting Hat takes your choice into account." -Harry Potter

Ha - We've got the lot in my household - teen is a Slytherin, DH is a Hufflepuff, LO is a Gryffindor and (apparenlty) I'm a Ravenclaw. Any surprise that there are lots of nerdy Ravenclaws interested in this hobby - spreadsheets!!! Whoever developed Excel was clearly a Ravenclaw.

My teen will be on a choir trip to USO in a couple of weeks - they were at Disney just after FOP opened (and sang songs from Frozen to entertain everyone in line during their 2 hour+ wait to ride), now they will be at USO right after Hagrid's Motorbike opens! This is the group that did the Harry Potter Live Prisoner of Azkaban performance with our local symphony a few weeks ago, so I'm sure they will be singing again.

I'm pretty sure it was the CIP that I had a 5k credit line on, but a vendor didn't listen to my instructions to split a charge between 2 cards and charged 6k on the card (I gave them 2 different cards for $3k each, they used one card 2x ). I called Chase, and the rep said it was fine, they wouldn't bounce the charge or anything, they just wouldn't allow any more charges. No extra fees or anything, and I just paid it off right away.

DD19 has been approved for CIP2 party:

Interesting DP- She was 1/30 with chase. I knew when I got her the first CIP and that it had been over 4 mos. BUT I forgot she got a SW card less than 30 days ago. Didn’t even look at her spreadsheet before app’ing. SO, is there still a 0/30 chase rule for biz apps...?
Congrats! My reaction is shock and awe. The new "wow" emoji looks more like shocked and scared, but I'm just in awe.

Congratulations! Her child care business must be booming!

And we have to stop the mind meld at some point, it's just creepy. After I read wendow's post this is exactly what I was going to say.

So the CL's on many of Chase's cards are actually Credit Access Lines. IIRC this basically allows them to approve purchases over your "limit" on a case by case basis and there doesn't appear to be a fee for it. If it's pending then they seem to have allowed the charge to go through but may block future charges until you're back under your limit. I don't recall when you joined but there was a big hoopla about a blog post where the blogger put a car on his CIP that was nearly double his actual CL and Chase allowed it. (it's a sore subject for other reasons but that was one of the biggest takeaways for me. I never expected them to allow that much over.) If you want to keep using it I'd probably post a payment sooner rather than later if you can swing it.

I want to make sure I have this right. I got an SPG Biz in January 2018, so I am locked out of ANY Bonvoy bonus until January 2020?
