$50 for 21 months of Explorist --> mlife Gold.

can confirm, its not a scam.

And what are Explorist perks? I have a stay next month and free breakfast would be nice.

A few Plastiq questions.

When paying a mortgage (using MasterCard) do you need to indicate in the memo to apply as a regular payment or an extra payment? If I schedule the payment to arrive a week or so before our automatic deduction do most banks skip that withdrawal or still process it (I know each bank can be different, just trying to get a general idea).

For HELOC, we have an open line of credit from the purchase of our house (to avoid PSI at the time). We haven’t touched it since we paid it off but we can draw from it at anytime. Do I need to first withdraw money and then schedule a payment?

Sorry for all the questions!

You really need to ask your mortgage company how they apply early and partial payments when you have an automatic deduction set up. Based on prior discussion about this topic, each company can have their own policy and it's very YMMV.

So I got my Jetblue biz card from Barclay. Activated mine and my husband's employee cards. Tried to do transactions online and they wouldn't go through. Also tried at the grocery store, not authorized.

Called in and I'm being told I need to fax in business documentation. I explained I'm a sole proprietor and I do not have any business documents. They said to fax in my tax returns and I asked personal tax returns? And they just keep saying any documentation.

I asked why this is being requested after I was approved and not before and no one can give me an answer. I know people have had to send in all sorts of crazy things before approval, but why after? And I'm sure my clock to meet the spend has already started. Good thing it's only $1000.

Has this happened to anyone else? Should I just fax in my personal tax returns?
That’s...weird. HUCA?

Edited because I just realized that I might be violating a rule about posting/requesting referrals. Sorry... But why can't we have a separate thread just for people to post referral links. No one has to look at them or use them unless they want to. I'd much rather gift extra points to some random person on Dis when I am signing up for a new card.

I HUCA multiple times. Spoke to multiple people. Called multiple different numbers. The number on the back of my card, a general Barclay number. Transferred from the general Barclay number to business specialists. All said the same thing, my account is on hold and I need to fax in documentation. But they can't give me any further specifics. And I was told if I have questions I should call the application security number, but they're only open M-F 8am-5pm which is tough with working. Soooo I guess I fax in my personal tax returns (1040) tomorrow to the number I was given and cross my fingers?

I honestly don't know. They gave me a freaking $14k limit. If there were any questions, they should not have approved me to begin with! I'm confused and frustrated. And we leave Saturday for a week to visit my husband's family in Nebraska. I needed to be packing tonight but spent all my time on the phone/on hold/being transferred/etc.

been a long day with DD field trip then Opera at the school. Came home to my new CIP :-) now to get working on this spend.

if DH applies for the AA business card will it affect him applying for an auto loan in the next week? can't remember how it works and my brain is fried from today's activities

Depends on the property I think. At the Baha Mar, we used one of our certificates for the lounge which gave us breakfast, evening snacks and cocktails.

This is really weird. But I read a comment on DoC's website about a person who was in the same position as you (unless you're the same person posting on DoC!) where she was approved for a Barclay Biz card, but can't use it anywhere until she sends in documentation. Then she said, well, forget it then just close the card. And Barclays told her they still need the documentation to close the card! Sorry, that's of no help to you, but just wanted to share that you're not the only person being treated this way.

Thanks. That's not me on DoC. Crazy they won't even close her account without her sending documentation. If no documentation exists, then what? So it will just be open forever, she and I will have to pay annual fees forever and never be able to use the card? I'm sorry for the other person! So frustrating! Do you have a link to that post by any chance? I'd love to follow up.

And yeah if the taxes I send don't work (which I'm guessing they won't because they show nothing relating to business, other than my business name is my name), I was just going to tell them to close it. Maybe I'll try calling the application security number first and see if they can give me any better details on what they want. If I can find a time at work that I can fit a call in, see if I can take a break and hope it goes quick.

@speedyfishy I can't remember what and who you complained to about stuff (I think it was amex sign up bonus stuff but I can't remember) but would this be something that would fall into that or no because it's a biz card?

It seems ridic that a bank would approve anyone for a card and then ask for more documentation so you can actually use or close the card. It doesn't make any sense.

Haha well I know dh’s family won’t mind (based on how their houses are). My mom doesn’t like cats and we have two of them so the main thing will be getting the hair and litter gone. The house we bought has a lot more tile flooring so we need to get a good vacuum for the hard surfaces. We’ve seen some that look like good options and are geared towards pets

We have mostly hardwood floors but also a few area rugs. I bought a Shark from Costco. It retailed for $249 but was on sale for $199. It is the BEST item I have ever bought. Works great, easy to empty it, very powerful. Just great!

The DISboards doesn’t allow referrals on the budget board (or anywhere lol). We just enjoy talking about how to encourage each other on our churning journeys and helping to develop a great credit card strategy :)

From this link: https://www.disboards.com/threads/referrals-please-dont.2454751/

Referrals and Referral Links are not allowed on the DIS.

From the DIS Guidelines:

"7. ADVERTISING: The advertisers/sponsors who you see on the DIS are carefully chosen. While we welcome discussion of them as well as other businesses that you have information or questions about, if it's determined that you are using the DIS to promote a commercial venture, you will lose your posting privileges. This includes choosing a username/signature that refers to your business. In addition, links to the company's website will be blocked. Also note that we do not want the boards to be used for solicitations or for requesting referrals. Requests for advertising can be directed to Corey@wdwinfo.com for consideration."

Please do not post any links where you (or someone else) may personally benefit and do not post any request to receive a referral. We have had to remove hundreds of such posts on the Budget Board (with only a warning), but will begin issuing infractions for any future referral violations. Post links and make requests at your own risk. This includes using the DIS PM system to request or provide these referrals.

Thanks in advance for your cooperation.

We just want to keep this thread above board - we’ve helped so many people! I’d estimate this thread alone has helped people create hundreds of thousands in free travel :)

I applied for the Barclays JetBlue business card and went pending. I already have the JetBlue personal cc and the annual fee went on 4/30, so hoping if I am approved so I can cancel the personal and get the af back, since it will be less then 30 days. I got the Bonvoy Business and CIP within the last 2 months, so we will see if Barclay approves this card.

Barclays gives 60 days to get your af refunded if you close the card :)

Oh no, I just applied for the JetBlue Biz cc tonight. Hope this doesn't happen to me and I agree, they shouldn't be asking for this AFTER you have been approved. BS

How dare they question any of our "businesses":rotfl2:

We also bought a Shark about 8-9 mos ago and I'm very happy with it! After three very expensive and easily broken Dyson's, I'm so impressed with the Shark for the little it cost. Mine was about $178 off Amazon but I'm sure it's a lesser model than you have. Our third Dyson is still limping along so I keep it in our finished basement since I don't vacuum as much down there and then I don't have to lug the Shark all over three levels.

I have a dyson that was a lot more expensive then the Shark (I think it was $300), that I bought a few years back. I like the Shark a thousand times more. More powerful and sturdier. I love that you can disconnect the handle and get into hard to reach areas and it is so much more powerful. Best investment ever.
