I'm confused. I thought they would cut the check after your membership renews. Mine renews 8/1/2019 so I'm expecting my check in August. Confirming you're not talking about the citi costco rebate. But anyway to get the 2% you have to be an executive member at the time of travel. So it seems like if the cruise is next month and you are an executive member through July you should be fine.
It's just the Costco rebate. i don't have the Citi card.

Though your question makes me wonder... MIL got a rebate check in the last month and she was worried it was mine/for the cruise because she wasn't expecting it and said she got hers already. Maybe one was her membership and one was here Citi costco card? I know she has one, is that how you get your cashback?

@havaneselover

Went digging:

The Reward is issued approximately 3 months prior to the member’s renewal date in a Renewal Statement and reflects rewards earned up until the issue date. A member must be an active, paid Executive Member when the Reward is earned and issued to receive the Reward. To receive a refund for the Executive upgrade fee the membership must be canceled or downgraded to a Gold Star or Business Membership and any 2% Reward issued or accrued will be forfeited. Any additional savings and services exclusively for Executive Members will be rescinded.

Just to clarify or confuse a little more, I have both executive membership and the Citi Costco card.

I get my executive membership check in or near October when my membership renews.
I get my Citi Costco check in February.

Your MIL's Costco card should have a date on it and that date is approximately when her check for executive should come and is within a month or so of renewal of the Exec membership.
My Citi card renews in July, but no check until February!

So it seems one follows with renewal while the other doesn't. I don't know if everybody gets a Citi check in Feb though.

So you have to stay an executive member to get the reward on the cruise? Because otherwise you're active when it's earned, but not issued???

And yippee--I have a $180 check coming soon (mostly from my Disney cruise).

I believe so, that's my understanding. So I paid an extra $44 for this year unnecessarily, my bad, and get to pay an additional $60 so I can get my $130... next May. Wooooooo lol.

Definitely going to ask MIL about this. I know her membership renews in the summer months. And Feb-ish timeframe is when she got the other check, it sounds like.

Fyi for anyone that is approved for a Barclay card and needs it right away, I was approved yesterday around 11 am, paid the $15 expedited fee, and rec'd the card today by 11 am, via FedEx overnight. Got my Plastiq payment for my 6/1 mortgage pmt scheduled today :D
personal or business?

On this whole cruise note... My best course of action for our cruise next month, would be to put down a placeholder deposit onboard, so I would get Disney's 10% off and on board credit deal, and then transfer it to Costco within 30 days... so I would then get Costco's cash card on whatever I booked plus the 2% executive reward if I was executive when I traveled (some day lol)

I noticed a couple of days ago that I have the bonus tracker for my new CIC on the Chase UR website. As of this morning, the amount on the tracker matches my spreadsheet perfectly! As one might expect, the tracker only registers posted charges, so I'm going to keep tracking spend on my own so I know the total with pending charges too.

:sad1:

I found a moment to chat with Amex today about the SPG Lux replacement card, told them I really didn't like the new card design and hate the new "Bonvoy" and "Brilliant" names. Unfortunately, the rep said once I receive the new replacement card, the old (purple) card will soon be deactivated. No way to keep using my purple card. I guess I'll put some recurring charges on the Lux and Personal accounts to keep them active, but sock drawer the cards so I don't have to look at the new designs.

He did say he'd share my feedback regarding the new card design with management. So if you think the new Amex Bonvoy cards are ugly (or the Bonvoy name ridiculous) and have a few minutes, let Amex know.

Guys... now I really need a plan. DH got paid out for a lot of his pending commissions this week which is great. And tomorrow is our normal payday. Si I was looking over my stub, matching things up and making sure they paid me right like I always do (just heard ANOTHER horror story of a coworkers pay getting messed up) and I realized.... this is a 3 paycheck month for both of us! So we will have oodles of spare cash to put towards the car loan! Must maximize credit card points lol

I get my Citi check in Feb also, and my executive reward check in Nov.

I used to love those 'extra paycheck' months! Felt like I had something extra those months, even though it was all part of an annual salary divided into 26 paychecks. Now I get my money at the end of the month and that's it - got to make it last until the next month comes to an end. Well, actually, it lasts just fine and I'm not spending all of what I have coming in, but it does seem like a long time between deposits.

Yup. Amex will give you a prorated refund if you PC a card.
I PCd my SPG Lux to a Marriott whatever-the-basic-card-is a couple days after the $450 AF posted. Unfortunately they haven’t given me any portion back yet and my payment was due 5/12 so I had to pay it. Bleh. Was hoping to avoid giving Amex $450 even if I will get some back.

Now if the dang Amex would show up. It said 3 days- where are youuuu.

I need another card. Stat. Lol. Unexpected $2500 furnace this week. 1000+ next week assuming DS makes travel soccer team again.
