@wendow how are your MIL and FIL doing?
Thanks for asking. My MIL moved to a new facility two days ago and I believe she’s supposed to be there for a couple months. Other than that, I don’t think much has changed. I’m kind of excited for them because at this new place, it’s an assisted living with a rehab center, my FIL can take her out at times. It might be too much for him this early but hopefully they can do that soon. It’d be good for them both.

So what’s the story with this magical TA. Why the controversy (if you’re allowed to say)?
I’m sorry I forgot to respond last night! So the story is that the agency has historically offered some pretty amazing rates for certain times of the year, mainly deluxe hotels with dates around Labor Day.

Since the DIS is owned by a TA, we were not allowed to discuss this agency since that’s their competition. People have hinted and danced around the name for years on here and many of us, me included, have gotten in trouble by mods.

So it’s just way funny now to see a thread with the agency initials in the title and posters openly discussing.

I have questions regarding using the Chase UR travel site. First, how do you account for the CSR 1.5 effect? Say I have 100,000 UR and I book a a 10K room for 8 nights, so I need 80K points total to book. Will they only take 53,333 points from my account? Also, if I need to cancel it and re-book different dates, or a different hotel, how long before the points are returned to my account?

Just to check: Should I list 1 or 2 (me, or me & wife) as Number of Employees that rent a house out? (In reality it's just me, and she would rather sell it)

The new facility sounds more comfortable for MIL and it’s nice to have the option to be able to check her out when he feels up to it.

Thanks! I figured it was something like that, never dull around here :)

I’ve always just put 1 but don’t think it matters it you put 2

All of the deals that site is having will be available until they sell out. Looks like they are still available this morning.
Yeah we haven’t bought any yet. I told Dh we would obviously use them sometime within the next year. It stinks that we don’t have an MSR to work towards but we can’t open any new cards until after our closing of our new house.

I put 10... I like to claim to have a successful enterprise... JK JK JK! :lmao:

I usually say 1 or 2. Depends on my mood haha.

Well I figured that would be the case. @Lain - what are your thoughts on the whole thing?

I think I stand by my comment from yesterday that we don’t want to play any games with referral loopholes. It seems that it’s not worth the risk.

The one question though is on the multiple CIP loophole and the ability to self-refer. Boy it’s be tough to give up 10k URs there and I think I’d continue to advocate for that (where necessary). Of course a spouse link is the better option if possible.

I mean, at some point, your numbers have to make sense, right? If you’re applying as a sole proprietorship (vs. say, a partnership), and you list 2 employees on revenue of only $1,500, are you not paying the other employee a minimum wage? 1 employee sole proprietorship is so much cleaner.
