Tried to get my MCGCs from Safeway and Chase fraud stopped my purchase. Pit it on the Brilliant upgradeinstead. There was a long line or maybe I would have tried again.

Since SB/BB is still not going well, I've been working through my VGCs with Mr Rebates' 8% back on Raise for Walmart GCs to go to Sam's, going well so far and if I get them all used this way it actually works out slightly better than SB/BB

Colorado does have a good entry in the pizza category. Beau Jo's Pizza. There aren't too many in the Denver area any more but it is worth stopping there sometime to try the a Mountain Pie.
Forgot them! I havent been there since college in Fort Collins.

Oh my. I have been away for a short while and now I am hopelessly behind, lol. I am looking for CIP news and I don't see anything, other than plastic 3X is dead:mad:. DH closed his CIP on April 30 and I (he) was planning to apply for CIP-2 tonight. Is there any recent news that would change his plan?

In a moment of indecision I bought 5 tickets. I hope they don’t have to be used all at once. If so, then I guess we can all go to Williamsburg again. We love it there and haven’t been in awhile. If not we can use 2 or 3 this trip for Tampa if DS and I go and then have 2 or 3 for another trip.

I consider the VA park pretty shady. Is theTampa Park not like that?
Looks like our little group is buying them all up. I got 3 of them.

Nope. Just Plastiq so far....

happens to me too, but i get a text from chase right away, i say yes on it, and process the transaction right away. it takes an extra 20 seconds at most.

Yeah... I had a super grumpy cashier (would like to use a Dis-inappropriate term instead of grumpy) and a long line so I let it go. I was debating to the last minute if I wanted 5x urs or if I wanted to put it towards amex MSR

I think it was mostly that it was an area I never go to. Just used the card at my Kroger a couple days ago for almost that much.

Bummer about the 1x coding on Plastiq. I would love to go for the CIP2 but it’s hard for me hit $5000 in 3 months.

Good news on my Barclay AA. I got approved! I decided to call in since the status link says I haven’t applied in 90 days. I had to be transferred 3 times and asked some questions about my business. It took about 20 minutes and the guy in the credit department was able to approve me once I gave him all the info. I have a small credit limit. He said he could make it More if I wanted to shift some from my two personal cards.
I also asked about matching to the 65000 offer but I’d have to talk to customer service and I had to get back to work. I will try messaging them later.

Can you tell me what kind of questions they asked? I have a "business" not a real business and I'm kind of afraid to even apply for this card, but I want it. Any advice would be appreciated.

I need some help from the flight award booking gurus. I need to get from PVD or BOS to PUJ on 3/21/20 returning 3/25/20 for 2 adults and 2 kids. I would like to use AA miles since I will have an abundance of them from the train. AwardHacker is showing round trip in business class for 50k round trip but when I go to aa.com and search, they are showing up as much more. I've never booked flights with points before, other than SW. Anybody have a few mins to give it a search for me?

I'm not an expert, but I have a small pile of AA miles that I've struggled to use the last few years. Awardhacker shows you the lowest points fare that is possible, but not what is actually available. And if you are very flexible you can find some good seats, but I haven't been lucky enough to find any in the last few years. I have a domestic flight next week and they wanted far too many points for it, so I used up some of the AA GCs I got with the AMEX fee deal. I did ask for help here and others were seeing the same ridiculous rates I was. Oh, and the direct flights were super high, and it was the ones with 2 connections that were cheap, points wise. It looks like you're looking for almost a year in advance, and that it's still not looking good. The only time I did well with AA was when I booked on "opening day" for my flights. 60K pp one way SFO > Rome, Italy. So they do exist, but they are very hard to find. I'm sorry I can't be more helpful.

i can confirm that when i went from SPG personal --> SPG Lux, they gave me around a month before it got deactivate.

Thanks for the DP. I hope it'll still work next week since we are staying at 2 Marriotts and I want those points!

Goodbye CIP1...you were very good to me!

Just cancelled my wife's CIP since the AF posted on 5/1. This was the FIRST Chase card we got when I finally got her under 5/24 so a little sad to say goodbye to it. It was soooo worth the wait though with those sweet 85,000 URs it brought me! I cancelled it because she also has a CIC and CIU so there's really no reason to PC it and hopefully it will free up some biz credit limit for CIP2 in the next month or so.

..it was the first card I applied for last year after finding this great group of people

I did a post on this that is likely 100+ pages back now, but I got called regarding my Aviator Biz app and the questions were super easy. I told the guy that I had a full-time job to support the total income amount on my application and that my business was a side business selling on eBay. Didn't phase him at all, and he approved me after we moved some CL from my personal Aviator over to the biz.

I don't know. I've never been to BG Tampa, but now I'm going within the next year since I have a ticket. BG Williamsburg - it's been many years!

Wow, time flies, can't believe it's been a year already. I remember the agony of when you were dishing out all the CIP advice and could not partake of the CIPpy cup yourself. I hope you cherish the memories of your first

... Attached a photo of my havanese (she's the big white one and she's with her cousin who belongs to my ex).

I grew up with good pizza in SW CT (and bagels-yum) but like papa john's. But we do have a few decent NY style pizza places in Richmond (including one downtown).

Glad you post a picture of your Havanese (for the longest time, I was guessing you were from Cuba ... Don't know many dog breeds)

I would prefer to pop a Dijorno's frozen pizza for 1 in the oven then eat Papa Johns pizza. I just can't eat that stuff. I can eat their garlic bread sticks though, so when the choices start to get boring, I'll get their bread sticks and maybe a few chicken pieces.

A vote for Chicago-style pizza. If I wanted to buy pizza to fold in half, I would buy it with an upper crust. Oh, that reminds me, at least once a year we eat the stuffed crust pizza pie at Giodarno's outside WDW.

And a vote for DiGiorno frozen at home. I start with Supreme, add a small can of mushrooms, a solid layer of pepperoni (25 touching slices), an 8oz bag of mozzarella cheese, and a dusting of cayenne pepper to taste, then bake longer and slower.

Question for you experts:
For Mother’s Day I was going to purchase some spa gift cards. The spa is in a Marriott hotel, and when I go to purchase them online, I’m directed to the Marriott website.
My two part question is:
1) will these code as true “Marriott” purchases like a hotel would?
2) which Marriott card should I use: the Amex bonvoy business, the original spg amex, or the original Marriott chase visa?
Trying to maximize my points...
Thanks in advance!

It may work and get the Marriott multiplier. You are supposed to get it from "...Marriott branded online stores (including online purchases of Marriott branded gift cards)..." on the AmEx cards. If you're buying the GC from the Marriott site and don't get passed through to something else I'd guess it works. Chase is vague on what earns the 5x/6x but I'd guess so?

As for which to use, both the AmEx cards have the same 6x earning. The Chase one will depend on your AF, when you say original is it the Premier with the $85 AF? If so then it's only 5x. The new Premier Plus, now know as the Boundless card, with $95 AF gets the 6x earning like the AmEx's. For best chance of it working I might go with one of the AmEx's.

Edit: Totally forgot to leave the link to the various Marriott CC's info like I meant to - https://credit-cards.marriott.com/

Can you tell me what kind of questions they asked? I have a "business" not a real business and I'm kind of afraid to even apply for this card, but I want it. Any advice would be appreciated.

The questions weren’t really too bad this time. The worst part was being transferred a few times to the right person.
He asked a few questions. What the business was, how long we’ve had it, what was the income from the business, other sources of income I included on the application. When I said that I included the income from the business and our household income he asked for the breakdown of what Dh made and what I made. Also asked for our job title.
We do own a rental property so I didn’t feel too uncomfortable calling and having to answer the questions. I figured the worst they could say was no.

I have a much harder time with a call I got from Barclay fraud dept once when the rep insisted for around 30 minutes that my security answer didn’t match up.
I am happy I got the AA approved but I don’t think I’ll be going after any more Barclay cards. I hate phone calls.

Omg I tell my DH this all the time when he wants to go out to eat because we have “nothing” at home. I really hate going out to eat. He knows better than to suggest going out as a treat for my birthday or Mother’s Day. I’m always telling him I’d rather eat peanut butter and jelly than go out. But that said, when we travel you can’t avoid it and Pittsburgh is one of those places we go fairly often and always struggling where to eat. So what’s the name of the place, maybe I will like it. Lol. We usually end up at Church Brew Works or Penn Brewery (hmm, I guess you can tell what’s we really after, and I know you are no help there) but im getting tired of those two. And we don’t like Primanti’s.

ETA just saw more of your comments, so maybe just tell me the places you don’t like. Lol. I think maybe those are the places I would like. Only on travel.

For lunch we like the cafe at Phipps Conservatory (lots of organic and vegetarian) and the cafe at the Frick. I had a nice lunch at s place in Lawrenceville called the Abbey recently. We don’t eat dinner in the city much though, also not Primanti fans

Thanks. We had a membership to Phipps and then we just finished our membership to Frick and never ate at either. I think we only made it to Frick once but we did use our reciprocal membership. I was thinking about getting Carnegie membership again.

I had my identity stolen and someone opened a Barclay card. It was easily proven as fraud, and everything was resolved.
Later when I applied for an AA Barclay card, I was put through the ringer with questions. After about 45 minutes of questioning on the phone, I was told I had to fax in a copy of my license, passport, a bill in my name, and social security card. No thanks!
I assumed at first that this was because of the previous identity theft, but the more I see about Barclay, the more I think it’s a (ridiculous) standard practice.

Thanks for posting this again. It sounds like I could with your phone call, but not all the others I keep reading about. I'll have to think more about this one.

Thanks for the info. I think Citi sounds easier, but doesn't the Barclay have the chip & pin? That's something I'd like to have sooner rather than later, so I thought this might be the way to go.

Yikes. I hope it was just because of the fraud.
