Oh, man! I'm sorry. Fingers crossed you're able to find something soon.
Bummer eh? Well, I guess that shoots any plans I had of making the podcast cruise. I saw the writing on the wall about a month ago, but was really hoping for the best. Oh well, 20 years with the same company and that's that! I guess we can officially say that I'm on to the next chapter of my life...whatever that is right!!
Not to mention the fact that now I am totally out of the loop as far as working in an office environment, so even if I did get hired somewhere, I would feel out of place and not quite confident for a while! QUOTE]
I am in the same boat you are in right now, so I can sympathize![]()
Sending good thoughts and lots of pixie dust your way.![]()
My best to all of youIt is a scary & difficult time for many, even those with jobs. Everyday I'm reading how many more are cut (today, AT&T 12,000; Viacom 850). You are not alone. Take some time to grieve then get back on that saddle - something better is awaiting you

If cashflow is an issue, perhaps consider taking a temporary, lower paying job. Many retailers are still hiring holiday help. Work in the eves/weekends so you can still spend your days looking for a permanent position.
After a while it might be difficult to have the same application/resume output. Perhaps consider using some time daily to develop/maintain your skills. There are lots of free resources on-line or at gov't placement centers.
Being out of the workforce since Feb isn't unusual in the 'new economy'. You may be pleasantly surprised that you haven't missed much, especially if you can 'practice' at home.

From someone who has been in the same position, there is always something else bigger and better to do. You will find it.
