I Know This Can't Be Done, But... (Re: MR)

Youngest DS rode some rides, more than I expected he would, really.

But when we (the whole family) look back, the things we remember most weren't the rides. It was just odd stuff, the ducks in the swimming pool, that sort of thing. So I wasn't upset about the rides, because most of the experience wasn't connected to them.

For me there is very little that I can "ride" due to not being able to transfer but just being immersed in the magic, seeing the shows, parades, characters and all the other unexpected delights are worth it. There's so much to enjoy in the parks even if you don't go on one attraction. I know the cost of admission seems high but think of what you get for a whole day's worth of fun. I wish they would allow someone who needs a caregiver for medical reasons the chance to bring in that caregiver free of charge but even that is not allowed. I'm thinking of those who could not go anywhere w/o an attendant, for example, and who does not have a family member with them. Even that issue though would probably cause so much abuse that I know why Disney doesn't even consider a discount on admission for anyone.---Kathy

ah maybe I'm a little of topic- my son is MR (mild) 32 and still gets in line for the autographs, etc. Its worth the price and more to see how well everyone treats him, only Peter Pan asked him if he was getting the autograph for someone else, but when he proudly said "no its for me", he quickly caught on and posed for a great picture with him. I feel its almost the only safe place in the world for him.
