I know I shouldn't post this but :

we are extremely sorry for your loss. i had to put one of my cats down a year ago. that still bothers me.

thelma, louise and duke (in photo) and buick (cat not in photo) send hugs and licks your way...

It makes me feel good to be apart of this great thread. Even though many of us will never meet in person we in a way have become a little family on here. We know what everybody is up to and has planned. There's just a great bunch of folks on here who care.

Terri I am sorry to hear about your dog and I know you must be hurting so bad. I know when I went thru my divorce it was hard to look at things or do things I did as a couple and I avoided going around the things like that. I know exactly that feeling of looking at the doggy door and her stuff and saying over and over it was just yesterday and now it's gone. Try to stay positive and make the best of your trip. Hopefully you will get another dog in time and be able to share memories with it. It's gonna hurt for a while but it will get better. Take care and grieve as much as you need to when you feel like it. We're all thinking about you and your family.

Wow, you know this really touched my heart, there are so many different kinds of heartaches, I can't imagine how hard a divorce is. A death of a parent or as I know now the death of a beloved pet, grief is terrible. Hopefully WDW will help us heal. This makes everything else so secondary.
God Speed to all of us !

My heart goes out to you so much. I know being at WDW will help. For years now I've dreaded the time when we would lose our (now) 17 year old cat. She is my baby and sleeps in my arms every night. I've made my husband promise that when we do lose her, he will take me to WDW....the only place on earth that might help me in my grief. That time is getting close now. She developed kidney failure about two months ago. The only thing keeping her alive right now is the fluids my husband and I give her each night under the skin and the twice weekly shots she is getting from her vet. It's funny....we have a trip planned to WDW at the end of this month. When we planned it, she wasn't sick. It was going to be our first trip to WDW without her. We had planned to leave her in the vet's kennel. Now I am so torn about leaving her. I know they would take good care of her, but I'm so worried that we will lose her while we are gone and I know I will feel so guilty for leaving her when she needs me. Boy, we sure do love these little fur babies, don't we?

I am so very sorry. Losing a pet is so, so hard. I have tears in my eyes for you. It is so painful -- they are part of the family.

My female 10y.o. Golden Retriever died after surgery -- she was only sick for less than a week so it was unexpected. Two years later my male 14y.o. Golden Retriever died unexpectedly in his sleep. I feel your pain.

Please know that as hard as it is now that it will get easier. You will remember the happy times and smile. It takes so long -- just take your time and grieve.

Take care and know that you have many people praying for you and thinking about you right now.

I am so sory for your loss it is heart breaking to loose a loved one.

i am so deeply sorry for your loss. i know how surprisingly devistating that can be. i was shocked as to how i mourned the loss of our family dog, Beauford, when he passed this winter. I never really had a pet as a child and was not one to think of my dog as another one of my children. (i totally get that some do and think it is quite understandable.)

i know that partly my grief was in watching my son lose what he called "his brother", but also i was sad for my own loss.

my prayers are with you that your pain will fade and that your pleasant memories will bring you comfort.
