I know DVC's full in Dec; how about the parks?

I know that the beginning of December is a heavy time for DVC'ers and reading the "empty parks" thread on another board has got me ACHING to go at an off-peak season.

How are the crowd levels the first weekend in Dec? I know there's more DVC traffic but what about the rest?

We were there last year. The first week was great. I was able to walk right on to Space Mountain, Kalil rapids, and many of the major rides . By the end of the second week, the crowds got bigger. This was especially the case at MK on the days that they have MVMCP.

Crowds are slow, but picking up the past couple of years. We love this time of year!

The first week of December is FANTASTIC! My wife and I had our honeymoon (2005) plans in to the Riviera Maya fall through, so we booked last minute at the Caribbean Beach Resort. At first we were a little dicouraged, just didn't think of Disney matching up with the actual Caribbean for our honeymoon, but it was such a blessing. The crowds were so much lighter than I ever remember and the Christmas decorations and events were great! The longest we waited for a ride was about 45-5o minutes for Soarin. That trip totally sold us on Disney in general and vacationing that time of year, the cooler weather combined with the Christmas theme and light crowds were huge factors in us going back and ultimately purchasing SSR for future Dec. trips. We are now sold completely on that time of year, unfortunatley I hear it is also becoming a popular time for everyone else too. It was busier in '06 than in '05. The Disney guide from our DVC tour did mention that people are starting to pick up on it, so I don't know what '07 will be like, but I suspect it will be busier.

Usually the first two weeks of December are really good with the week immediately after Thanksgiving one of the best for low crowds. Love going the first part of December.

The weekends, however can get pretty crowded...especially MK on Saturday or Sunday afternoon.

The weather is usually great that time of year, many of the local people have FL seasonal passes, and they come out on the weekends for the same reasons we go to WDW that time of year.

When we went Sunday - Friday, we noticed a huge dropoff Monday-Friday from what we'd experienced on Sunday afternoon.
