I Kicked it I Played it and now..Wheeling & Dealing at the WL final 9/9 p87/88

Your sunset pictures are absolutely gorgeous. I'm partial to the dog pictures too. I have a golden.

I think I could have made the trip down to the bottom of the caves but I wouldn't have been able to tolerate the total darkness. My mind sees strange and scary things in the darkness.

Glad you like the pictures!

I love watching dogs romp in the waves. That dog must have had a bell full of water when she was done swimming.

As far as the cave - you couldn't even tell whether your eyes were open or closed. It gave a whole new meaning to pitch black.

WOW!! I just have one word for you Mary Ellen!! IMPRESSIVE!!! WOW you have some serious talent!! I just adore your pictures!!!!!

WOW!! I just have one word for you Mary Ellen!! IMPRESSIVE!!! WOW you have some serious talent!! I just adore your pictures!!!!!

Thanks Jen! I really just let the camera do the work. There's so much more I want to learn. But in the meantime I am having tons of fun!

I almost forgot......Two weeks from today Jen and I will be checked into BLT. I think we are probably hitting MK for our first park day. Right now we should be dining at the Wave. Afterwards we will be meeting LL and Marc and heading to the TOWL!

Wow! :worship: Just amazing pictures. I love all of them but the kids on the pier, the kayaks, the brightly colored beach umbrella, and the wild horses stick out in my mind. I know I've said this before but I hope you are doing something with all of these amazing photos - scrapbooking, framing etc.

And I am seriously jonesing for a trip to OBX. I went several years ago and loved it. You almost have to book now for the following summer, don't you? When did you guys book the house you had?

All I can say is WOW...your pictures are stunning...can't wait for Jasmine to get home to show them to her. She loves horses....she misses riding, but couldn't do everything, so she gave up riding. She will love these!!!

I loved all your pics of the natural bridge and caverns. I remember going there as a child, and the pictures brought back great memories! :goodvibes

The OBX and horse pics are so beautiful! Really makes me miss vacationing there...

Unfortunately I don't have time to reply right now. But I just want to say that two weeks from today I will be waking up at BLT for the first time!!!!!!!! Nice, huh? :cool1:

Well, i had a lot of catching up to do last night!!! Sorry I've been a little MIA, just too busy to spend any time on the DIS. :sad1: Anyway.....loved all the pics from Tenn- and yes, I was already hoping to go to that Titanic museum. :goodvibes I can't believe how much CRAP is lining the streets of Pigeon Forge!!! :scared1: We'll be there over Thanksgiving- I hope the traffic isn't too crazy then. And, as far as the food goes, I heard it is next to impossible to find anything good to eat in that area- maybe in Dollywood the food is better? My SIL told me the best food is at the Dixie Stampede- it's a cornish game hen you eat with your hands. :confused3 Well, I'm thinking with the huge crowd we'll be a part of, there won't be much eating out anyway. I'm hauling the whole Turkey dinner down from here- so we'll see how it all goes!

ME- your photos are really just so fantastic, you must spend an awful lot of time playing with that camera!! You have gotten so great with it!! Can't believe your next trip is just around the corner- my advice is to spend as much time as possible in the Ditch!! :rotfl: It looks like their menu may have changed a little bit- I LOVED the jalepeno Rita when I was there, and the crab tostadas and shrimp ceviche- the avocado rita was amazing, too. But I didn't see it on the menu on their site- unless I missed it. I would also recommend those snowball tinis at Yak&Yeti- the grape one is yummmmmmmmmm! :cloud9:

Alrighty....time to go say hello on a couple other TRs and maybe even update my own! :scared1:

LOVE the horse pictures!!! So beautiful.

I cannot imagine living in those houses...what a wonderful view and sound to wake up to every morning! However, honestly, I would go nUtS living so remote. :rotfl: But I like to VISIT! ::yes::

YAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I'm excited to read your report about BLT, Joe really wants to stay there, I'm kinda on the fence.

:worship: You have such an amazing eye for photography ME! You really should take all these photos and make a coffee table book out of them, sometimes Shutterfly has some pretty good deals on their photobooks - those pictures can't just stay in your computer!

Pods, I hate to tell you this, but Pigeon Forge & Gatlinburg is one of the most popular destinations at Thanksgiving. A very busy place then & watch out for Black Friday, the traffic is a killer!

The Dixie Stampede does not rate that highly on my food radar. There are quite a few good places to eat there. If you like Italian try The Best Italian in Gatlinburg.:cloud9:

Now back to Mary Ellen's TR. Love all of the pictures of OBX, I really need to get back there! :thumbsup2

I am jonesing for an OBX trip too!!!! A great big dismeet would be great!!!:thumbsup2
Absolutely stunning pictures....:worship::worship: Some of those houses that are way out by the wild horses...you have to wait for the tide to either go out or come in :rotfl2: to get to them. We did some driving on the beach before too and I liken it to driving in deep snow...:confused3
Cropped that crap out of the picture?!! :rotfl::rotfl:
I can't remember did you go kayaking? I do enjoy it....we have a two person and I like to sit in the back and pretend I am paddling :rotfl2: A bunch of us might take a day trip on the Delaware in early fall.

MEK - I am interested in all these wonderful vacation destinations that are now so close to me, so I Googled OBX and noticed on this website (the tourism site): http://www.outerbanks.org/ they are asking for people to submit their OBX pictures for their travel guide - it's a contest. It ends tomorrow...but I think you have a great shot at getting published if you have time to send a few in!! The details are right on the main page. :thumbsup2

Your sunset pictures are amazing Mary Ellen! And I love the one with the sand fence and grass.

Wow! Just amazing pictures. I love all of them but the kids on the pier, the kayaks, the brightly colored beach umbrella, and the wild horses stick out in my mind. I know I've said this before but I hope you are doing something with all of these amazing photos - scrapbooking, framing etc.

I want to do some photobooks for all three families. I keep putting it off because I have been updating here in my free time. I probably have to take a Dis free week to get it done - no distractions. But How will I ever go a week without the DIS????? :rotfl:

And I am seriously jonesing for a trip to OBX. I went several years ago and loved it. You almost have to book now for the following summer, don't you? When did you guys book the house you had?

We booked our house in January or early Feb and the earlier summer weeks were already gone. I think the nicest places book up first.

The lady I rented from has a smaller property in Corolla. I would have to search VRBO to find the link, but I know the price drops down to $850 a week right after Labor Day. It is a 3 BR. If I ever go back in the fall I am definitely renting from her because she has her act together.

Check out VRBO and look for a property that cuts out the middle man. That puts a couple bucks in your wallet.

All I can say is WOW...your pictures are stunning...can't wait for Jasmine to get home to show them to her. She loves horses....she misses riding, but couldn't do everything, so she gave up riding. She will love these!!!

Thank you! I am so glad you enjoyed the pictures and I hope Jasmine does too. It was really cool to see the wild horses up close and personal. Beautiful animals!

I loved all your pics of the natural bridge and caverns. I remember going there as a child, and the pictures brought back great memories!

The OBX and horse pics are so beautiful! Really makes me miss vacationing there...

I am so glad you liked the pictures, especially since you have childhood memories. I always cherish the places I went as a child.

Like I said before, I totally understand why people go back to the OBX year after year. I thought that Corolla and Duck were much nicer than Kitty Hawk where I stayed last time. I really do hope to return.

Those wild horses are beautiful, and all of your beach pictures make me want to escape to the coast right now!

There is really nothing quite like a beach vacation and that statement comes from someone who really isn't that crazy about having snad in various cracks and crevices. There's so much more to a beach vacation that sandy toes!

Hurray for two weeks!!! :

Pretty Psyched right now! :woohoo:

Please take lots of pictures in the Titanic museum because I really want to see it. :worship:

I honestly did not see that many restaurants except for fast food and pizza places. I am sure they were there but I could find them on the main road because there were so many other tourist trap "things" to look at.

I bet your thanksgiving dinner will be amazing. :thumbsup2

ME- your photos are really just so fantastic, you must spend an awful lot of time playing with that camera!! You have gotten so great with it!! I do love my camera and I have taken way too many pictures!!!!!! Then I spend some serious time editing them! I enjoy it. It's therapy!

I will definitely be doing time in the Ditch since I couldn't even step foot in there last trip. All the food and margaritas sound sooooooooooo good!

I couldn't remember what thost Y&Y drinks were, so thanks for giving me the correct name. How convenient that I have dinner plans at Y&Y. Woot!

Alrighty....time to go say hello on a couple other TRs and maybe even update my own! :scared1:

I see you did an update so I will be heading over there soon!

LOVE the horse pictures!!! So beautiful.

I cannot imagine living in those houses...what a wonderful view and sound to wake up to every morning! However, honestly, I would go nUtS living so remote. :rotfl: But I like to VISIT! ::yes::

Thanks!

I can't imagine living in some of those remote houses either. I think it would be strange even to spend a week in a place that was not serviced by regular roads, but I guess some people love it.

YAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I'm excited to read your report about BLT, Joe really wants to stay there, I'm kinda on the fence.

I saw the BLT models and I think they look really cool so I think I will love it. I think its one of those resorts that does not photograph well, but actually being there is fun.

:worship: You have such an amazing eye for photography ME! You really should take all these photos and make a coffee table book out of them, sometimes Shutterfly has some pretty good deals on their photobooks - those pictures can't just stay in your computer!

I am definitely going to make a shutterfly book, I am going to make one for each family on the trip. I think I will use our security deposit to pay for them. I really need to get going on that! I have some really cute ones of the girls but I don't want to post them because one of the girls did not have parents present, so that wouldn't be cool.

Pods, I hate to tell you this, but Pigeon Forge & Gatlinburg is one of the most popular destinations at Thanksgiving. A very busy place then & watch out for Black Friday, the traffic is a killer!

 On No, poor Ellen! Heck - what am I saying - you just gotta get there, then I know you will have a blast once you're settled in. But good warning to avoid Black Friday. What is it about BF that makes people come out in droves. Personally, I prefer to work that day and keep under the radar!

The Dixie Stampede does not rate that highly on my food radar. There are quite a few good places to eat there. If you like Italian try The Best Italian in Gatlinburg.:cloud9:

That's good to know in case I ever get back there, which I hope I do!

Now back to Mary Ellen's TR. Love all of the pictures of OBX, I really need to get back there! :thumbsup2

Oh, you should definitely go see the OBX. Such a great relaxing low key way to vacation!

I am jonesing for an OBX trip too!!!! A great big dismeet would be great!!!:thumbsup2

Cropped that crap out of the picture?!! :rotfl::rotfl:

OMG - that would be a fun place to meet up!

I am so glad you like the pictures. We were shocked when we saw so many houses out there. We also saw quite a few cars get stuck. One of the dads had a huge Lexus type truck which went everywhere, but Denny and I went back in the subaru and we had to be very, very careful!

I can't remember did you go kayaking? I do enjoy it....we have a two person and I like to sit in the back and pretend I am paddling :rotfl2: A bunch of us might take a day trip on the Delaware in early fall.

I actually didn't go kayaking. I could never seem to round up enough people to try it. But we all did go out on the wave runners and that was a hoot. We renting like 6 of them for the whole group. The girls went on a kayaks briefly, but they didn't last too long. Too much work I guess.

What's this about a day trip to Delaware?????? Do Tell - Details????????

MEK - I am interested in all these wonderful vacation destinations that are now so close to me, so I Googled OBX and noticed on this website (the tourism site): http://www.outerbanks.org/ they are asking for people to submit their OBX pictures for their travel guide - it's a contest. Thanks Brook - I will definitely look at this when I get home tonight because I can't get the second link to open up here. uggghhhh! Maybe I can send off a few quick pics before midnight!

Problem is - which pictures?????

Your sunset pictures are amazing Mary Ellen! And I love the one with the sand fence and grass.

Thanks Glenn! So glad you enjoyed the pics. I have a few more to post!!!!!

......So two weeks from today Jen and I will be at Epcot and we will soon be enjoying lunch at Le Cellier. I remember how stuffed I was after last May's lunch, but I am willing to try it again. I hope I can eat all my food this time.

Our evening plans will include MNSSHP and I hope to really see the fireworks this time (last September I stood off to the side and saw practially nothing).
