I've never seen so many tears on Christmas, but at least they were happy tears!
DH and I told our boys this morning that we adopted our two foster bunnies. We made it official on Dec. 1 but didn't want to tell our boys until Christmas morning. We put them under the tree in their carrier with a note saying we were keeping them. Our boys (14 and 11) started bawling their precious little eyes out! They were so afraid we'd be getting a call telling us to bring the bunnies back to the rescue agency because someone else wanted to adopt them. It was so hard keeping that secret for almost a month but it was so worth the looks on their faces.
Then, we went over to my parents house. I made everyone a shadow box with a potholder that my grandma hand-crocheted and it had a beautiful picture of her in the middle. My mom opened hers and started crying and my sister teared up a litte, too. My brother is too tough to cry but I could tell he liked it. Grandma died 10 years ago tomorrow so the gift was especially meaningful at this time of year.
Everyone is coming over for dinner in about an hour. I wonder if I can make anyone else cry today! At least they were all happy tears!
