I just HATE it when people rain on your parade!

Don't let her ruin your good time.
If you want to be mean, you can write back:
"I wonder how much weight you'll gain on the cruise - after all it's just a floating buffet."
LOL no flames please, this is just a snappy come back!

We have gotten some slack from people but never friends or family. Usually co-workers or even strangers. We brush it off and say, you do what makes you happy, and we'll do what makes us happy. Anybody who has enough time to put down your vacation plans most likely wont have a good time on their own vacation.

I don't think I'd ever go on a cruise, not that I wouldn't want to but I have a tendancy to get sea sick and I don't want to test it out on the sea over a period of several days. Still if one of my friends were going on a cruise, I'd reply with much enthusiasm. Some people just don't know how to be happy for others I guess. Have a blast and hopefully she will enjoy her cruise too, maybe she's crabby because she REALLY needs a vacation.

don't worry about your friend's comment. Some people just don't get it. And I personally feel sorry for them. Bless their hearts! (you know what it means when a Southerner says that, don't you?) Well...it's not sincere. :rotfl2:

Okay - other places to vacation. Yes, there are many. We just went to Southern CA for vacation in May. We did go to DL/CA Adventure but only for 2 days of the 6 night trip. We had a pretty good time, but we really missed WDW. It's "our place" perhaps I should say "our laughing place." We missed the service, the total immersion of magic, the beautiful resorts. So, although we really can't afford it, we've booked our REAL vacation 7/2-7/9. You can guess where, can't you? Yep - WDW. Staying at the Beach Club. And if someone else says to me "Are you going to Disney again?" I'm personally going to yell out "HECK YEAH" (although I may use a cuss word instead of "heck") and I may slap them in the mouth and just sainter off like a cat.

I have a friend who goes to the same beach every year, rents the same house, goes the same week in August and he has the nerve to say "You're going to Disney again." What's the difference? Lay on the beach, get burned? Go to a dude ranch, fall off a horse? At Disney, we have everything. (does that sound familiar to anyone?)

We do visit the beach, either in FL or one of NC's wonderful beaches, but we will always go to Disneyworld in FL (not CA!) and we will do so at least once every year. God willing.

Sorry for your friend's less than supportive response. I have been getting them for 30+ years from friends and family. We travel extensively to locations throughout the World....but we always make room for 4-5 trips annually to WDW.

I usually just respond with something like..."you know, we have a blast at WDW and wouldn't exchange the experience for anything"!

Please don't let it bother you...have a great time!

I just find it funny when people I work with who spend 2 weeks at the Jersey shore every year bust on me about WDW. I just keep thinking to myself that if they don't go to WDW there's a shorter line for DW and I at the attractions we like.

Go and enjoy your Disneymoon... we loved ours!

I get the same response from my mother! Your going to WDW again. Don't you think you've been enough? This coming from the women who hasn't been on a vacation in over 12 years. She used to vacation all the time but NOT anymore. I really hate it when people say "why don't you go somewhere else? There are many other "BETTER" places to go on a vacation like Hawaii I mean you can only go to WDW once and youv'e seen it all" I've been 14 times and still have not seen it all. It really bugs me when people think they know me better than me. If you don't like my vacation destination that's fine by me I won't have to worry about another person in line at Splash Mnt. I am not a lay on the beach and sun myself person I like to go out and have fun. Who know that we'd all love going on a vacation to relax and we walk up to 5 miles a day!!! LOL!!! I have just come to ignore the negative remarks I'm not going to let anyone rain on my vacation!!!!

Easiest ways I've found to deal with it:

1.) Lie.

"You're going to Disney World AGAIN?!"
"What? No. We're going to (fill in a different vacation spot)."

2.) Tell people you're going to Florida. NOT Disney World.

"We're going to Florida."
"Disney World AGAIN?!"
"I didn't say that."

If pursued further, refer to #1 and fill in with: Sarasota, Miami, Daytona Beach, or the Keys.

3.) Avoid #1 and #2 and be proud of your choice!

"You're going to Disney World again?!"
"Yeah. And?"
"Nothing, it's just you've already been there."
"And?"
"Why don't you try something new?"
"Don't wanna."
"But...."
"No."

We have other plans this year for vaca but my kids are not happy so I am surprising them with a trip to Disney in September. When I told a friend he said the same thing. I equated it to his annual trip golfing to South Carolina.
He response, "I golf different courses". My response, "We do different things in Disney when we go, there is so much to do." People just don't get it!

People are just jealous cause they take boring vacations... OR don't take vacations at all.

I would say HECK YEAH I am going to Disney again. I would be on crack not to :teeth:

Then ask her why she is going on a cruise again!

ok, duh, I just saw the date of the post. I hope you had a good trip :)

Me talking to one of my sisters.

"We are going to Disney in Sept." Sisters response "Again? You know there are a lot of other places to vacation".

Once my sister said "you are crazy". I responded "yes I am crazy. Crazy but happy"! :)

Now I just don't tell them we are going. We live in Dallas they all live in the New Orleans area. I used to call my sister and give her out flight information and hotel incase something happened. I don't do that anymore.

Take Care
