:confused3 I am not sure what to do...I booked through AAA 1&1/2 years ago, we have been planning our first US trip ever (we are DVC owners and usually do Disney) we have been very excited, now I am very frustrated. I thought I was getting a great rate, then I visited the Lowes website and found my AAA rate is not as good as the LF rate. If I cancel through AAA they are going to charge me $50.00:sad2: even though I have been a member for years. Even if I cancel with the charge of $50.00 we would still be saving! The rate we have for a regular room at PBH is the same for the club level at PBH now. We are leaving next month. Any advice? I don't want to sound petty, but we saved for this trip and I want to get the most for our $$.

Do you have a package thru AAA or room only?

On-line or via a 'live' agent?

I booked on website & I had 2 ressies for late June (one for 3, one for 2 days - wasn't sure of plans)...didn't get any cancellation fee assessed.:confused3

Sorry, we definitely need more details to help you.

First, if you have an AAA room-only rate booked, there is no cancellation until something like 5 days prior to check-in. This is regardless of LF membership.

Did you book a package through AAA or Universal locations? That would explain any cancellation fees that you might have. We never book packages as we often find that piece-mealing is better for us. If you did book a package, what are the terms and conditions (e.g., cancellation policy)? You should have received that information when you booked.

What are your dates? What are you current rates?

The more information you give us, the better we are able to help you. :goodvibes

I am sorry, I guess I forgot a few details...we did book a package through a live AAA agent. I am not really happy with the service I have received at all! It has been almost 18months and I still don't have my documents, when I called they told me to come and pick them up, that wouldn't be so bad except the AAA office is 45minutes away (the 800# contected me to the Norwalk office for some reason-I live in Durham, about a 45 min drive one-way)...This is not starting off to a good start, Now I am starting to second guess everything! UGH!!!:sad2: :sad1:

Not sure about your specific AAA agency but the one in my area is privately owned by an individual (pays AAA a licensing right I suppose).

Only reason I know this is because agent told me this is why they still had some of the old park hopper tix left (child only) when i bought our U tix this spring.

Have you priced out the AAA pkg components (including the current room rate listed on AAA website)? May give you some ammo to negotiate especially since they now sell the $86 tix as opposed to the lenght of stay ones.

Perhaps if you ask to speak to either the mgr or even better, the owner; and profess not knowing about the $50 cancellation fee they will accommodate you if only to quote you a more reasonable price - good luck.

Since you're booked through an AAA agent, I'd call that agent to notify them that you found a lower rate for your stay, and would like them to apply the lower rate to your reservation. If you satisfy the criteria for the lower rate, I'd expect AAA to change to the lower rate.
