I just finished my lunch approx. 10 minutes ago and I feel even more hungry now than I did before I ate :confused: :mad: ! Does this ever happen to you?
 
It happens to me if I eat a high-carb lunch - like a sandwich, or chili, or pasta.

If I eat protein and vegetables, I fill up quickly! :)

You should grab something high in protein to make you feel fuller - a slice of lunch meat, some nuts, a hard-boiled egg, etc.
 
I have to agree - high carbs with little protein or fat just makes me HUNGRIER! Rhonda's suggestions are right on the money, Cindy. Hope you can find something that will help! ::yes::
 
Thanks guys! I actually had turkey breast on 1/2 a pita (huge piece of pita bread) with a slice of cheese. Guess I'll go have to have a snack (sensible snack)!
 

The body doesn't really register you've eaten until about 20 mins after you've started eating. If you eat slowly and give it a little time you'll realize you're not as hungry as you thought.

What I do is try to do something to get my mind off of it. Before you know it your mind and your stomach get a "meeting of the minds" and you'll feel satisfied!
 
i'm thinking that pita bread made you crave more refined carbohydrates.

How did your afternoon go? Did you get rid of the "munchies?"
 
I agree that the pita bread may have done you in. I love turkey with lettuce and tomato, so I have started using wheat wraps. They are about 100 calories and I find they are better than the regular pita bread. I also have tried a whole grain bread for sandwiches, (until now I only ate white bread, so this was a leap for me) and find it really fills me up. I also had to learn to eat really slow-I wolf down my food so fast it's embarrassing. Also lots of water as you eat helps.

I also have found a banana or an apple will take the edge off if you are still feeling hungry, and they are low cal.

The rest of the day went pretty well. I drank lots of water b/c I hadn't had much yesterday morning and I started to feel a bit more full. I only eat white breads so maybe it's time to try wheat :eek: ;) ! Thanks everyone, have a great day!
 
I find drinking a big glass of water before eating and then another while eating will really help fill you up. Also remember that sometimes it's not that we are still hungry but that we are craving more to eat. Those carbs will do that to you every time!!:D
