A local gym, a nice on at that, is having a deal. They recruited 25 women to do testimonials. We do 16 weeks at the gym, paying the regular $ for a monthly 2 year membership, but no sign-up fee. At the end of that time, if I've gone 3 times a week, I can cancel without penalty. (Only hitch--I cancel then or I ride it to the end of the 2 years). I also get tanning 3x a month, personal training advice during the 16 weeks, and some other perks.
I'll let you know more tomorrow.

That sounds great! You can always do the program & see if you like going to the gym, then decide what to do. I would love to join a gym, I just hate stopping when I am on my way home from work. I try to work out at home with my equipment, but a lot of people hate working out at home. Good Luck :thumbsup2

The way I look at it, the "16 and out" clause will force me to go at least 3x a week, and the hours are good--they are open until 10 M-Thurs, until 9 on Friday, 8 on Saturday, 7 on Sunday. They open at 5 during the week, but since I have to leave for work by 6:30 I'd have to be there at open and take work clothes, and I sleep a little too long for that. I have looked into a curves that is much closer, but they shut so early and you have to be there 1/2 hour ahead of time--this way I can go after DH gets home.
And if I DO like it, I'll just keep going.
They have a spa, tanning, and juice bar on premises. And the girl said something interesting--they originally were going to put in an indoor track, but who wants to do 18 laps for one mile, so they invested it in the equipment. They have TONS of cardio--treadmills, bikes, recumbent bikes, glider type things--and while the first row of treadmills watches the TVs with headphones, most of the rest of the stuff has TVs built in--two even have DVD players. She said no limit on time on the equipment and no signing up for a piece of equipment--if it ever came to that, she said, they would just buy more equipment.
2 days after my 16 weeks are up, we leave for Florida. I don't expect to lose 50 pounds in 16 weeks--but 25 or 30 would be nice--and I need way more stamina. I feel like a real blob. Just hoping I can eat healthy as well.
But here is a question--for the "testimonial" requirement, at the end if the 16 weeks, I can write a testimonial and get one month free--or I can take before and after pictures and get 2 months--do I WANT a picture of myself 50 pounds overweight in a free local paper for everyone to see? :rotfl2:

I dont know that is real accomplishment, I would show it off. I am sure you will look fantastic! I can understand being modest though. Think about it though, because you can be an inspiration to others that they can do it too.
