I leave in 2 days (48 hours!) and I have not even started to pack! :scared1: I normally start packing 2 weeks out! Oh well-I am going to Disney World! So, everything will be alright!

my son is trying to pack for me - we don't leave for another year

He packed swimsuits (for me & Him - wonder what daddy & brother are going to do) the disney buttons, Mickey shampoo bottles, pitures of Disney & water shoes
some prefume & my hairbrush

I'm sure he would be happy to help you if he could come too

I normally don't pack until the night before we leave. But, I will pack DS's suitcase a few days before we leave. Sometimes he likes to add stuff to his suitcase, like last year he thought we should bring some bubbles with us. No big deal, but the top wasn't closed all the way, and I had to wash his whole suitcase! :lmao:

We leave in 6 days and normally I am almost all packed, but not this time. I do throw things in a suitcase as I buy them like ear plugs, water bottles, sunscreen. I think the more trips I go on the easier it is to pack. Do you have the Disney ultimate packing list?

We leave in 7 days and I have yet to do anything!! Guess I need to get some laundry done today!! :). Thankfully, its a rainy yucky day outside here in KC today.

No worries! I leave tomorrow, at work now, and still have to finish packing! :scared: Looks like another late night before vacation!

DH and I keep a continuous packing list on the fridge that we update as we move toward our departure date. We still have a little over 4 months until we leave, so there's plenty of time, but we pretty much like to talk Disney every day so it gives us the perfect excuse!

I always pack the night before any trip. I might put some clothes in the guest room so that they don't get used during the week prior to a trip, but nothing goes into a suitcase until the night before we leave. I think it adds to the excitement of a trip.

No problem!! You can stay up all night the night before if you want :lmao: ... a trip to the World is worth a sleepless night.

seriously, we usually pack the night before, usually because of some last minute laundry of clothes that we want to bring. And as much as we loooooove to make a CHECKLIST of things to bring, there's always a last minute trip to Target to get more stuff.

Packing for disney is fun ... seeing all your stuff laid out and strewn about, then the satisfaction of seeing it all neatly stuffed in your luggage, excited about what's to come next. enjoy! :wizard:

I remember those days.

We leave in 3 weeks, and I’m fighting the urge to get the suitcases out and lay them out open. I could start packing. There’s stuff I know we won’t need in between now and when we leave and stuff I bought specifically for the trip. I have it all piled in the recliner in my bedroom right now. But I know what would happen. My ds would start tossing stuff everywhere and my dd would start adding stuff she won’t need. She has this idea she needs a certain amount of toys on these trips. I tell her if we were going to see family I’d agree with her, but I am not convinced considering her history of passing out after her bath during various vacations.

I have occasion to be the night before packer. I can clearly remember doing laundry at 11pm the night before a trip so I could pack. I remember all of the last minute trips to Wal-Mart for stuff that just somehow didn’t get checked off the list. So much fun. Then once in my haste the night before a trip to San Diego, I left my purse there. Our flight was at 6:30am. In the excitement and in carrying my other things, I didn’t even know I had left it. I was about to go to bed, when they called the house. Fortunately this is a 24hr Wal-Mart. Fortunately my home phone number is on my checks. Dh was still alive then, so I left him and dd (then almost 2) and went and got it. Just thinking of the horror that would have occurred the next morning had they not called (no ID, no bank card, no cash), I’ve at least done better about the last minute shopping. The last minute packing, not so much. I do a bit better just because I have 3 people to pack for now.

We leave on Thursday, the 21st. My goal is to be packed by the time I go to bed on Sunday, the 17th. Hoping beyond hope that any laundry I do after that will be for us to have clean clothes when we come home. This will be the longest trip we have been on. We have a busy week leading up to our trip and an 8am flight, which for us means leaving the house at 5:30, which for me means getting up at 4:30. I’m so hoping I’m not up until 11 doing last minute stuff. I’ll have a 9 year-old and a toddler likely bouncing off every wall the next day and adrenaline will only last so long.

Have fun on your trip.

Ok that is so cute  I like the fact that he puts in pictures of Disney :thumbsup2

And truth is we never really unpack, I just check the week before that everything still fits and is still fresh (I tend to put drier sheets in to the case to keep things smelling fresh) and then its just the shampoo etc to add and thats it. I don't tend to wear what I wear to the parks at home so it just stays there until next trip.

I leave tomorrow morning, and I am working right now and have to meet with my personal trainer at the gym tonight. Basically, no time to pack. Luckily, I use the adrenaline from excitement to get my stuff done. I am going to be working like a fiend tonight to get everything ready to leave my house at 4:15 AM

Good Luck!!!!!!! :cool1:

2 weeks out? I need to hire you to pack for me. :rolleyes1 I took a trip to NYC last week and packed my bags just before I walked out the door. :confused3

Have a great vacation! :thumbsup2

We're leaving July 4th and though I haven't actually started loading items into the suitcase, you better believe I've thought about it! I have, however, started a note in my phone where I add random must-have items any time, day or night, as they pop in my head. Hope this helps with that "I-know-I'm-forgetting-something" feeling that occurs right before take off!

lol, I usually pack the day before...anything else would just tease me unnecessarily.

Meh,
We are leaving tomorrow afternoon and I haven't started to pack yet. I am lounging around on here for a while, then going out to run a few errands. I will start packing tonight when DH and I get home from dinner. Sure, all the laundry is done and ready to be folded and packed, the snacks, sodas, alcohol, and water is bought. Ice for coolers is bought and in freezer. Mom and my BFF are home packing now. Mom's truck is in our driveway with a fresh oil change, tire rotation, washed, and has a full tank to gas for the start of our drive. All prescriptions etc have been picked up from pharmacy. Mom's grass and ours is mowed but here I sit slacking.... or at least slacking according to the standards of some people on these boards....lol!:rotfl2::thumbsup2
Doggies have to be taken to aunties and we have an invite for beers at a friends house tonight too..... hmmm

We have so many Disney-only shirts that we are always 2/3 packed. We have separate toiletries that never leave the suitcase either. Plus the ponchos, Mickey crocs and beach towels.

The weekend before we leave, we throw in the socks and underwear and pants, plus any other clothes that we want to take.

Packing the electronics and entertainment takes longer than the clothing. Between chargers, DVDs for the van, netbook, Nook, DS, etc. etc. we need another whole bag!

If you pack some all-in-one detergent sheets and some quarters, you'll be fine.
